• Tea Time: Everyone has that one drink that they love and for Jane it's a myriad of drinks that come in the form of tea bags and hot water. Tea time is a ritual that Jane can't give up and she'll spend hours pursuing selections at tea shops to take home for personal brewing. She is extremely picky about her blends and unfortunately is a bit of a tea snob.
  
  
• Journaling: Jane keeps a meticulous dream journal annotated with important happenings. Beside her bed are several filled from front to back journals filled with musings and dreams and the occasional bad doodle. Jane keeps one at her bedside table for those nights she wakes with a fresh dream and one that she carries around with her from place to place.
  
  

Virtues:

• Sensible: Jane's been called sensible more times than she can count. She thinks in terms of what can be accomplished vs what one wants to accomplish. She sees things for what they are and doesn't spend much time on things she deems impractical or unobtainable. Her sensible nature helps her realize when it's time to let go of something and move forward.
  
  
• Water Under the Bridge: Generally, Jane doesn't have the energy to expend on holding grudges and is willing to let things go. It's all water under the bridge, unless it's something she overtly passionate about, or it effects one of her friends.
  

Flaws:

• Opinionated: When it comes to things that matter to her, Jane's got strong opinions on them and isn't afraid to get in someone's face over them. If your opinion differs from hers and she thinks that you're being a d**k about it, Jane is quick to get into heated arguments and isn't good at letting things roll off her back as easily. If she forms an opinion about a person, well, it's unlikely that anything can make that change and she'll stay rooted in her firm opinion, good or bad.
  
  
• Dry: Dry wit, dry humor, and a hint of dry sass make it hard for people to tell when Jane is joking or not. She has a tendency to sound like she's talking down to people, whether she is or not, and the blankness of her expressions during these times make her seem unapproachable. Her general disposition gives the impression that she thinks she's above everyone else.

Unfortunately, we don’t allow characters to use the same last name unless they are related or you have permission from the player who has already claimed it! Baker is already in play, but if you have another name in mind (or an alternate spelling) to replace it, then I can drop a stamp off for you!

Sorry for the disappointment or frustration, but to put it bluntly this rule should always be upheld. This rule has been in place for a minimum of six years and the shop intends to uphold it. We have been open with the fact that we failed to thoroughly check civilian names and because of our negligence allowed overlap to occur. We have had player complaints recently where it was requested we please be more vigilant in enforcing this rule and we are attempting to do so.

Regardless of how common a last name is, if a last name is in play then any other player still needs permission to use it. The only recent instances in which this rule has not been applied is when it was missed or overlooked in the stamping stage (or when a side-swap plot that required a name change occurred and the overlap might have been missed). This was the fault of staff for not catching it before it was approved and we take full responsibility for it.

Because you pointed out that someone might misunderstand the rules, I will edit them to remove the word 'typically' and make sure there is no misunderstanding: new characters cannot have the same last name as an existing character unless they have that player's permission.
