It was a busy afternoon. Kaimana found himself grinning as he dodged around several matori and foreigners, "Seems like tourist season has begun." Teased the boy as he watched a group of foreign girls running past. Strange to think how the Obans came now for the beaches rather than for the people living here. The thought made the apprentice shake his head. He wasn't going to dwell on the past. If I'd been born in a land of constant sand I'd probably be dying to get my feet wet as well. And it was gorgeous outside. The sun was shining, the air was warm, and the scent of the sea brushed through with each gentle movement of the wind. He definitely would jump over the border with this type of weather beckoning him!
Amused the Matori glanced around for his twin, "Devika~" They had come here for the market, but at the same time he felt as if he were shopping to find his sister. It was so easy to loose her in this crowd of people. Honestly it made the normally lax boy's stomach twist. What if they did get separated? Surely nothing would happen, but there still was that trauma from the loss of their parents. The last thing he wanted was to lose his sister in this crowd and never see her again.
Taking a deep breath Kaimana had to calm himself. Stop being so silly. He was someone who dived into the ocean's depths! Why the spirits would he be so panicked over not seeing his sister in the market? She's probably just looking at some pretty jewelry or something. He reasoned before turning on his heel to look behind him. Was that her? Kai tilted his head forward thoughtfully before darting around another stranger, "Devi?" The apprentice pursed his lips in protest as he kept moving through the crowd in search of his sibling.

Devika had, in fact, stopped to look at things in the market, only it wasn't quite jewelry. It was a row of food booths they had passed. Just as the nice weather brought tourists to the beaches, it also brought foreign merchants with all kinds of new things. She sat and was pondering what she could purchase for her and her brother to try when she thought she heard her name through the crowd. Looking, she scanned the crowd to see hair that matched her own anxiously looking through the crowd. Sighing, and rolling her eyes, she snuck around him. In one fluid motion she jumped up onto his back, wrapping her feet around his waist and her arms around his shoulders. "You know, if you'd stop wandering on ahead you wouldn't lose me like that."

A very masculine 'eep' left Kaimana at the sudden attack. Or rather what he wished had been masculine but instead was more of a moracker's squeak, " Devi!" His shocked reaction turned almost instantly into laughter as he positioned himself better to carry his twin on his back, " I know they say that people hitch a ride, but surely ya could have asked first." The Matori grinned in amusement, " Be glad I have some good reflexes else you would have gotten some extra sand in your skirts~" Kaimana shifted his hitchhiker, " So where to? Did you find anything you wanted?" He pursed his lips slightly, " I can't help moving on ahead either, feels to stiffly to stay still in this mass of people, ya know." He chuckled, " Though I say if you stay up there then I guess I can't lose you so easily then."

"HEY. Who says I don't have good enough reflexes to catch myself." Devika pouted at him playfully as she relaxed as he settled. "Asking would have taken too much time, and I wouldn't have gotten that surprised little squeal I got out of you." A small tug on one of his braids playfully as she laughed. She couldn't help but tease her brother, it was what they did, and it was ESPECIALLY funny when he did something like that! "I had just been looking at some of the food vendors. All the tourists also means all the new vendors and foods to try! But that's okay. I know it's pretty busy today. We might come back to try things when it's not so busy, it'd be easier to enjoy it I guess." Even though she knew she could just stay up there and make him do all the work, his permission was welcomed. "Anything you find while you were running off without me?"

" Yeah, yeah." Kaimana rolled his eyes, " Too much time to worry about my back and if I can handle you or not. Not my issue if your hips have gotten a bit of weight on them lately~ Just go ahead and break your poor brother's back." He teased while expecting the smack that was bound to come with the statement, " And it wasn't a squeal...it was uh escaping air. You just uh made me loose my breath in surprise."Kai frowned thoughtfully, " That is true and nah. Nothing too interesting just a few booths with some shiny trinkets, but I behaved myself so be proud." The Matori glanced around, " Well maybe if we walk around we can find one vendor who isn't crowded." He smirked, " Can grab some grub and go sit at the tide pools or something and watch all the foreigners playing around." The apprentice's eyebrows wiggled, " Some of them go naked on their vacations even~ Can't complain when studying anatomy right? For learning."

Devika:
Instead of the smack her brother was expecting. She playfully put her brother in a choke hold while laughing. "You don't have to be mean about it gosh. Besides...I was told guys like curves." Devika pouted at him playfully before settling back down.
Laughing at his anatomy comment she shook her head. "Oh Kai you're silly, but you know I'd totally be game!! You think there are any Tendajians?" She was used to Obans and Matori but it was the Tendajians that piqued her curiosity the most at the current moment.

Kaimana pretended as if he was losing breath, "Oooh there's the...light." He choked out before his sister settled down. Taking a deep breath Kai only chuckled at her reply, "I suppose." Not that he would really know what guys were in the market for. He was far too occupied attacking wild creatures and deep sea diving! Now hng he preferred his snappers long and muscled to fight with, but that had nothing to do with finding girls attractive. Or maybe that was it? He could find others attractive, but was too busy getting into trouble on his own?
But at least it amused his sister, "Possibly. It's 'vacation' season you know so surely there'll be some from Sauti at least. Though if you're wanting the new people I think they're still mostly overseas." Now that would be some trip! He had heard about them and just like the Yaeli the boy's interest was piqued. What type of people came across the sea in a flying ship? It was so cool! Not that he would give up his oceans for the world, but still the thought of being able to do such an exciting thing was tempting.

Devika/Nilah:
Devika eyed her brother as he started talking about people oversea. Sure the was probably some very interesting people over there but that was an awfully lot of water to have to cross. She sighed and tried to not get goose bumps thinking about all that water. "Well I don't think we're up for that kind of trip." Her brother might be, but she definitely wasn't. It would be quite some time, if ever, before she was ready to even think about going on a boat. "In any case, there's nothing wrong with good old matori!" Devi loved her home and didn't really think she'd ever leave!

Kaimana shrugged, "Wasn't suggesting it....well for the moment at least." He found himself teasing lightly, "But who knows about the future?" Even though he loved Matori and would be happy staying there forever there was some appeal about another country. What sort of beaches did they have there? His gaze glimmered with amusement, "Don't worry Devi I wouldn't let you fall from a ship into the sea. Though I think it's mostly in the air so does that count as swimming or flying if you're in the skies?" The Matori shifted his sister on his shoulders, "But since we are't going there today we might as well enjoy a good Matori beach." He teased lightly, "Any last minute needs while we're here? If not then this ride is going to the shore!"

Devika headbutted him slightly, "It doesn't matter if it would be considered flying or swimming because the end result would be the same! Though, I suppose first you would be flying and then when you hit the water you'd be swimming, and then you'd be dead..." It was a simple truth, one she hoped she never had to prove. In any case, Devi turned her head back to the current conversation. "This ride can go where ever it wants to go, with a few exceptions of course." He knew what she could and couldn't handle, he always did in the past at least so she wasn't worried in the slightest.

Kaimana pulled back from the blow with a pout, "That's such dark thinking, sis." He replied playfully as he straightened back up with her on his shoulders, "You could always hope that a giant fish or somethin' swallows you instead or that there's a mage on board who's really powerful and can have the wind sweep you back." He grinned and chuckled, "That'd probably be the only way someone would sweep you off of your feet so maybe it would be best if that happened!" "Then to the beach we go! There's a nice little tidepool that I wanted to show you after all. Hold on!" He made a noise like he was a Xaraan bracing for takeoff before darting down through the crowds with his luggage firmly on board.

Devi rolled her eyes at him. Sure it might be 'dark' but it was the truth! She dismissed his other possibilities as they were such slim chances. "Pft, don't be mad at me just because I have high standards! Besides, any suitor would have you to contend with anyway." Another truth. She was pretty sure Kai would likely make sure any potential suitor was good enough for his sister. As he took off towards the beach, Devika laughed. He was so silly and she enjoyed the way the people darted out of the way of the two prentices. Some gave them odd looks but she paid them no mind. Kai knew what he was doing and wouldn't have ran into anyone anyway, at least on purpose. "A tide pool?" Well, she supposed that would be okay. She'd only have to stick her hand in, right?

Kaimana chuckled, "It's true!" He teased lightly, "Though I'm more worried if I ever had to worry about my sister meeting someone who wanted to date me!" All the stories she could tell them if she didn't chase them away that was. Kai grinned though it was a playful tease since he never really thought about romance really. It just didn't seem to be his thing...he much preferred his freedom and enjoying the waves. As he bounced along Kaimana only paused to shift so that he could hold his sister better - the last thing he wanted to do was accidentally drop her or something! Still his movements did slow as they reached the beach and he craned away from those who were walking along the shore for the waves and instead settled for a little cove to the side that was dotted in pools of shallow waters. When it came into sight he lowered himself so that Devika could climb off, "And we're here." He commented lightly before glancing towards his sister for her reaction.

While Kai maneuvered expertly around all the beach goers in favor for the cove that had the tide pools in that Devi knew he was fond of, if only because she tended to find out where he found some of his treasures, she tried to avoid looking at the ocean. Even going so far as to close her eyes until she felt her ride slow, stop, and then stoop down. Devika opened her eyes and looked around. The cove meant the ocean wasn't too big of an issue, she could just turn her back to it and be fine, mostly. Taking a deep breath, she looked towards the pools. "Okay. So. What do you look for when you come here, Kai?" If she just kept a rational mind about things she'd be okay right? She let the comment about dating go as it was one of the last worries she felt she had. Not that Kai was a bad guy, he was the best she knew! But Kai would need a special lady, which she felt he wouldn't find here in their home town.

Kaimana smirked towards his sister, "About anything really...if it's shiny I go straight for it and sometimes the slimier things are interesting too." He teased lightly while wiggling his fingers, "Sometimes little octopuses wander into the pools and I like to poke at them before usually throwing them into the actual ocean again." He shrugged his shoulders, "For now shells are nice." "Do you have anything in mind that you'd like to find, Devi?" He asked after shifting his feet into the damp sand for a bit. The question could be more than just this little cove - what about the rest of the world? What did his sister plan on doing in a few years when they were supposedly adults and to go out in the real world? Already they had left their sanctuary of a home to go live on the outside village in Matori but was that it for them? Or did they ever think of venturing forwards? His gaze narrowed thoughtfully as he reached forward to pluck a starfish and toss it towards Devika, "Can we even find what we want in a tidepool?"
