Arsinoe stumbled back, grunting as he tripped over some rubble, and hit one of the large overturned tables in the room. “Jesus…” He rubbed his eyes as the last of the image faded away. “That … I didn't need to know that universe.” Sure he liked seeing things about his former self but that? That was a little much.
Shaking his head he took a deep breath and tried to shake off the lingering feelings. From everything he'd seen of Jinyue so far he'd expected a rather boring, maybe a little stuffy, young man. One who spent way too much time inside a library or feeding fish. Nothing overly remarkable outside of the whole Senshi thing but at least thankfully not completely boring either.
He wasn't supposed to be getting pinned against library shelves by some unknown man getting snogged within an inch of his life. He wasn't supposed to watch his former self do that either. Even if it did, unnecessarily confirm, that his taste in men hadn’t exactly changed after being reborn.
Whoever it was must have been important either in the galaxy or very important to Jinyue. To be let down into the Vaults? From what he’d uncovered so far there were very few people who were allowed down there without someone with them. Sure Jinyue had brought them down but if it was someone from outside Arsinoe? He couldn't think of anyone that would be though. He hadn't seen Jinyue with anyone before outside of family or his teacher. He also wasn't used to the other figures in his visions being blurry either but this one had been. Which meant for some reason he wasn't allowed to see who it was. At least that was the best explanation for it he could come up with for the time being.
Seeing that really didn't help any of the“I wish that were me” thoughts he’d been having lately any either. He'd spent too much time thinking about Arin lately and he knew, given Arins workout habits, he could have picked him up like that.
“And that thought can stop right there.” He shook his head again as he headed back up out of the Vaults. He wasn't going to get anything else done and it was getting late back on Earth. Better to head home and do some patrolling before going to bed. That would at least give him time to clear his head. He snagged his pack from up in the main hall before he closed hsi eyes and let himself drop back into the living room of his apartment.
Arin was thankfully not home, or napping, so he ducked into his room to get his towels. He needed a shower after digging around in the dust. A cold one.
He cleaned up quickly before dropping down into his computer chair and pulling out his notes. The notebook stayed closed though as he set his head in his hands, elbows leaning on his desk. It was going to bother him for no reason now. Not knowing who that had been with Jinyue, him, in the past. He’d seen so many people in various visions but to have never come across this lover before? At least he was going to assume it was Jinyue’s lover. No way could he see himself, even his past self, doing something like that with someone out of the blue. But why hadn’t he ever seen anything with them before? Why show him now?
Lucien didn’t know how long he sat there trying to rack his brain. He was only interrupted out of the thoughts with a knock on the door. Arin’s voice telling him he was going to make something for dinner and did Lucien want any.
Why did Arin have to be so damn nice?
