It wasn't like wandering was a new concept to this old lioness. Vu and Molemogi had been through a lot of hard times before they'd found a pride that suited them. Her heart broke when the home she'd made for her children shattered and her family scattered every direction of the wind. Only Vu stayed with her. Even Zuberi, who had been such a mother's boy had wandered off in search of something more than she could give him.
Either way, she lived on. She hunted along side Vu, they didn't talk to often, but that was the good thing about them; they never had to rely on words. Most of their time together was spent side by side in a familiar and comfortable silence neither of them felt the need to break often.
She had been laying in front of the den they'd ended up claiming and expanding upon in the midday sun when she saw a figure out in the distance. Green eyes squinted but she couldn't quite make out who was approaching. The black lioness got to her paws and just took a couple of steps froward before her ears went back.
"Vu," she called to him. Her tone wasn't worried, but slightly alarmed. "Someone's coming."
