Today was supposed to be an exciting day for the tiny light cub. Trevor, one of the two princes of the Dark Tribe, could not help but smile as he bounced around his mother's paws as they casually walked through the many tunnels that would lead them towards a destination that was still very much unknown to Trevor at the moment. The tiny, but still growing, cub did not care though. The location of their destination was of little importance to the cub. What was important to him though was what was waiting for him at the mystery destination. Yes. Today he had received the news that he would have a brand new babysitter, someone that he had yet to meet.
Oh, how exciting it would be to not only meet someone new, but to have someone new watching over him. It would be someone that was not his mother and her never ending list of daily errands. It would be a babysitter that was not his father and his never ending list of oh so boring daily meetings and whatever other things he needed to do on a daily basis. It was a babysitter that was not Uncle Zobek or Uncle Chronos! Even if they did entertain him greatly, sometimes a change was nice! And he was so excited to meet this new babysitter!
He could not help but wonder what this new B’alam would look like. Did he look as regal as his father or Uncle Zobek? Did he look as colorful and entertaining as Uncle Chronos?
“When are we going to get there, Mama?” the cub asked while weaving his way through his mother’s long legs. It was just one of those things he enjoyed doing whenever the two of them went on one of their walks together. In his young mind the game was sort of like a test to see if he was fast and precise. Or at least that is what he told himself anyway.
“I want to meet this new B’alam already! Can you tell me more about him, Mama, huh? Can you tell me what he looks like? Does he build boys like Uncle Chronos? Oh! Oh! Or maybe he helps Papa like Uncle Zobek does. Or maybe,”
At the final thought Trevor jumped in front of his mother, body laying low to the ground and ears pinned back as if he were suspicious about something in the area.
“He is some kind of spy that works for Papa. Flying around and catching those that do bad things in the Dark Tribe. Yeah~”
It was amusing how even the simplest of acts and promises could bring so much amusement to a cub. All Marie had to do was state that Trevor would be spending his day with someone new and her son starts acting as if she had promised him a trip to the moon. Oh, if only he knew how adorable he was at the moment. Smiling the biggest smile she had seen so far and bouncing around like a Jackalope in the spring.
And the questions! Oh the questions. The mother thought they would never end. And they might not until she dropped in off in Pagan’s paws for the day. But then she knew they would continue the second she returned to pick him up.
Chuckling, Marie shook her head in amusement while waiting for a pause in the youngling’s questions before even attempting to answer them.
“Calm down now Trevor.” She stated while reaching out to gently pet her son. “One question at a time now. There will be plenty of time to get your answers. And plenty more time to get to know your new babysitter.”
Though her sons were good cubs, and always meant well in their actions, she knew dropping off both would be more than the chisler could handle, at least for the moment. It would have to be a gentle introduction to both. This was why Marie decided to only bring Trevor along for now. That and it seemed Alucard had taken quite a liking to hanging around with the Lead Guard of the light tribe. It would do the cub so much good to build a bond with those he would way day be working closely with, as the only dark heir at the moment. But those were thoughts for another day.
“Now, where should be begin with your questions, hm,”
Marie but on a playful thoughtful face while walking around her cub, knowing well he would follow closely by. Oh yes he would, especially after his last act of wandering off on his own.
Her green eyes carefully scanned the hallway, looking for markers that would lead her to the library where Pagan would be found setting up to work on decorating the entrance way to the area. The tribe was still working to transfer works on knowledge to the library. And little by little they were getting there.
“Well, if I remember the directions of these halls correctly we should be arriving soon, so be patient, my tiny jewel. When we arrive I am sure that Mister Pagan will be more than happy to answer any and all questions you have for him as long as you are polite. Now then,” the nah’s eyes lit up when she spotted the entryway to the library in the distance. The faint sound of clicking told her that Pagan was already awake and hard at work continuing the decorative features of the area. “Pagan is a friend of your fathers, though he does not spend as much time with your father as Mister Zobek does. His job is to decorate the halls with lovely works of art, and when he is not doing that he spends his time carving stories and records into the stone so no one will forget the history of the world.”
Smiling, Marie carefully walked ahead and then stopped in front of the entry way.
“Now be on your best behavior, Trevor. No more trouble like last time, understood?”
