 Boy, Clear has bitten off way more than he could chew this time. Before him, nearly four times the size of a proper quartz, a bear-like creature snarled at him and repeatedly swung its massive claws at him, taking trees out of their roots in its wake. Clear's flail was almost as big as himself as he swung at the corrupted beast--grunting with each strike--repeatedly, but his impacts seem to do little more than irritate the creature more. "What have I done this time?" Clear groaned, becoming increasingly more exhausted with each moment. He held up the handle of his flail as the creature started to charge at him with a mighty roar, bracing for the impact of what would likely be the attack that destroys his form.

As the creature charged at Clear Quartz, preparing for it's final blow, a glowing orange ball roughly the size of a basketball approached at high velocity from the creature's right. It struck the beast in the side of the head, which immediately let out a bellow of pain. The ball dissipated into a thick, viscous liquid that scattered in various directions. Anything flammable it touched immediately caught fire. The creature immediately turned to where the sphere had originated, it's form glitching slightly from the heat as it let out a furious roar. Standing about 20 feet and likely the source of the ultra hot orb was Mahogany Obsidian, fully armored and her sword at the ready.
"Forget the easy prey, try someone who'll put up a fight, ugly!" Mahogany shouted at the beast, a smirk on her face. Another glowing ball was forming in her left hand, which she hurled at the creature again.The creature swatted it away and roared before charging full bore at her.

Clear had shut his eyes in preparation for the impact, but then they shot open again when he heard the creature roar in pain and redirect its attention to the other gem. His eyes widened at what was before him. Another gem? Another war survivor?! Well, she was a sight for sore eyes! He quickly put his flail away and got to a safe distance, but stayed close enough to watch and intervene just in case. Though, he doubted he'd need to after she just saved him. He glanced at the scattered fire around, however; he hoped it would dissipate quickly. The creature charged at Mahogany with its teeth and claws at the ready. Though, the initial, very hot impact had already damaged its form and was weakened from its previous battle; it would likely not take much to poof it.

Mahogany met the beast's charge with her own, breaking into a full sprint at the creature. This corrupted gem looked strong, though it was now likely weakened already. In fact, it could quite possibly overpower her, so she would have to rely on her dexterity. Her eyes narrowed as she waited for the right moment. When the two met, it swung one of it's clawed appendages toward her. She responded by stretching out her legs and falling backwards, going into a baseball slide. This maneuver not only put her under it's attack, but then under the beast itself, where she promptly plunged her black blade into it's belly. The beast promptly poofed and it's gem fell to the ground. "How disappointing, I was expecting a better fight from such a large one." She said as she stood up and dusted off her armor. She reached down and picked up the gem before turning to Clear.

Clear came rushing over, "Thank you," he said, smiling gratefully, though his voice couldn't express his gratitude, "I thought that corrupted gem was going to destroy my form for sure. Are you a gem war survivor, too?"

rofl "You could say that." Mahogany replied dryly as she examined the gem she was holding. She bubbled it in a fiery bubble and it vanished, teleporting to her ship. "If you're strong enough to wield a weapon that size, that beast shouldn't have posed such a threat to you." Mahogany said, turning to Clear, not yet noticing his chipped gem.

"My abilities and strength are compromised," Clear explained, then gestured to his gem, "as well as... other things. My name is Clear Quartz, by the way," despite his ghostly appearance and unfocused eyes, he gave a warm, inviting smile, "I've never seen a gem like you before. Are you an obsidian of some type?" He looked over her armour and gem. An obsidian seemed like the most logical guess, but he had never seen one exactly like her.

Mahogany's gaze fell on Clear's gem when he gestured toward it. It was immediately clear why his strength was compromised as she could see the chip in the gem. "Yes, I am the Mahogany Obsidian gem." She replied to his inquiry about what kind of gem she was. Her fiery yellow eyes met his gaze. His form wasn't as vibrant as other gems and his gaze was weak, but she chalked that up to his chipped gem. She imagined it was difficult to maintain a cohesive form in his state. Having seen his weapon, she imagined that he was likely a strong warrior prior to his injury. "What are you doing here, other than nearly getting yourself poofed?" Mahogany asked, letting a bit of her humor leak through.

Clear looked surprised when she mentioned her name. He had only ever heard of one Mahogany Obsidian and that she was quite dangerous. He didn't even think she was still out there. "I have heard rumours about you," he said, "that your conception was quite... explosive, and that you were very powerful. I didn't know you were still around, much less on Earth, I would have imagined the Diamonds would want to keep a strong gem like you around." Clear had to smile at the comment, if only to keep the mood light, "there's a human settlement not far from here. That gem could've hurt the humans living there, and I couldn't let that happen, even if I'm compromised, I'm still combat-ready.... I just overestimate myself sometimes."

A small smirk formed on Mahogany's lips as the other gem spoke of the rumors about her as he only mentioned the rumors she liked. Explosive birth, powerful, both things she was proud of. She wondered what other rumors he had heard that he didn't mention. "The Diamonds barely know what to do with me."She said, her smirk becoming a grin. The story of her relationship with the Diamonds was a long one and she wasn't about to get into it now. "So, you've taken it upon yourself to protect the native life, how....valorous. I do wonder why you care that much about them, though."

He nodded, "I can understand why," and scratched the side of his gem, where his chip was, "it's because Earth is full of many wondrous life forms and--" he paused when he heard sirens nearing, and noticed the small fires were starting to spread into a larger one, "uh, I can explain later, I think we should leave before those humans arrive to put those flames out," he insisted and started to turn to run, and gestured for her to follow and do the same.

When Mahogany first heard the sirens, she tensed, thinking that they were under attack again. When Clear explained that it was the humans she relawyed a bit. She hated running away, but she had no business with humans right now, so she obliged. "Where are you planning on going?" She asked as she kept pace with Clear.

"Not sure," he said, "away from here. I personally can feel at home just about anywhere, so I think we should just make it priority to stay out of their way. Where is your ship, by the way? Is it close to here?" He turned to look at her.

"This way." Mahogany replied to Clear when he asked where her ship was as she changed direction.
She led him to a secluded area that was desolate and abandoned. She slowed to a walk and stopped in an open area. It looked like no one had been there for years.
"Identify Mahogany Obsidian and authorized passenger." She said and there was a shimmer in the air as a jet black craft slowly became visible. It was a moderately sized craft with swept forward wings tipped with beam cannons. It's nose was long and sleek, as was the fuselage. Mahogany stepped under the craft amod a beam came down from the belly ofthe ship and lifted her up into it. The beam remained as if waiting.

Clear quickly followed after her and into the beam, into the ship. He almost stumbled as it lifted him up, not used to the sight or feel of gem technology--at least, intact gem technology--and was lifted into the ship after her. He looked around at the inside, gazing at every part with fascination, "the Diamonds must've really trusted you to give you this ship," he said, then looked towards her, "you don't work for them anymore, do you?" He looked uneasy at the idea.
