WHO: Kyou, Aadhira and Dr Jannisari WHEN: A few days after The Two TowersWHERE: The Lab
It's been a few days since the phone call, and Helminha had finally made an appointment to meet with Aadhira and bring him home with her. It only made sense to give her a few days to prepare herself, both emotionally and practically. Although there's also the thing about her being out of town for a conference when he called a couple days ago.
Kyou was going through the preparations himself as he awaited her arrival. Brewing a pot of high grade earl grey that she loves, as well as some biscuits that goes well with the tea. The scent wafting from the pot was lovely, he just loves the scent of earl grey.
While preparing, he peered out of the cafeteria a couple of times, looking for Aadhira, or even expecting to see Helminha walk up to the Lab's front door. Aadhira for the most part seemed to be doing alright when he was staying here. Mainly keeping to himself. He do believe that the Frei interacted with Lazarus more than him. Unfortunately, Lazarus had to go to work early today, so it will be just him and the Frei for today's meeting.

Jannisari had found herself in a whirlwind of business and, quite frankly, it was her element. As long as everything was neatly controlled, she could deal with anything. Her low heels made a satisfying click on the sidewalk. She straightened her coat and stepped into the Lab. "Dr. Kyou, it's nice to see you again." She smiled. "I see your research has been going well." Jannisari knew it had been going well; she kept up with it as much as she could in the scientific and magical journals. The youth potion still kept him looking crisp, she noticed. Meanwhile, Aadhira hovered just out of sight. He wanted a good look at his new guardian before they saw him. And... she was certainly very different from his last. She looked sort of... stern. Put-together. He crossed his arms and thought for a moment.

When he saw the good doctor walking up the steps, he went ahead to greet her midway. "It is nice to see you again as well." He smiled as they shook hands. Turning around, he welcomed Jannisari and started leading her into the cafeteria.
"Why thank you." Kyou chuckled heartily. He had published numerous well received papers since they last met, which admittedly was quite a number of years ago. However, he had been fairly quiet ever since the jungle incident. Which... he wasn't sure if she knew about or not. "I haven't been able to do much research in the past few years though." He admitted a little shyly, feeling a little embarrassed since he knew Jannisari had been keeping active in the industry."I have something happened to me that hindered me physically." Even now, he is using an ornate cane to help him walk.
Yellow eyes darted around briefly to try and spot Aadhira before they enter the cafeteria, but to no avail. He truly hoped that the Frei wouldn't be impolite like that. He did told him earlier what time to expect Jannisari.
"Here, have some tea and biscuits." Politely he poured and offered a fresh cup of earl grey for her. It was just the right temperature for drinking. Sugar and cream are available next to the pot if Jannisari should need it.

"I had heard something had happened, though I do not know the details. I trust you are still recovering well?" The cane was noted, and she wondered if the handicap was only physical or extend further into Kyou's magic. Even for herself, who had little magic of her own, it was an uncomfortable thought. Dr. Jannisari dropped one cube of sugar into her cup. "Is my new charge here, or will he be coming later?" She smiled; she'd never have expected to be picked for guardianship. Aadhira rather figured that was his cue. He drifted out into the cafeteria, a half-sherwani covering his chest, the silver of it matching the ornaments in his hair. "I had thought you might want a bit to re-acquaint yourself." He smiled, telling himself he wasn't nervous, telling himself it didn't matter, he didn't have to try hard. Maybe he should take bets on how long... "Ah, Aadhira, correct? I'm Helminha Jannisari. It's nice to meet you. I'm sorry you've had to stay here for a bit." Aadi nodded and floated closer to her, curious about the kind of paperwork she'd have to do.

"Yes, don't worry about it. I am almost as good as new." Kyou chuckled as he waved his cane a little. Truth is he had just been taking things a lot easier than he used to, as per a medical doctor's order. And honestly, he is starting to enjoy the slower pace of things.
As Kyou poured a cup of tea for himself, Aadhira made his appearance on cue, looking pretty dapper himself. The Frei sure knows how to make an appearance, although he wasn't sure if his new guardian would know to appreciate the finer details of these things.
"That was very polite of you." Kyou commented as Aadhira approached the table. The re-acquaintance was very brief, but it was enough for this meeting perhaps. The business with the Frei is more important. "Do you want a cup of tea too?" He asked Aadhira as he took the third cup that he had prepared beforehand.

Jannisari watched Aadhira, measuring him up. She knew of some issues the raevan was likely to have, but he hid them well and was the picture of composure and grace. Yes, she thought, he would be a wonderful addition to her household. "Oh, no thank you. I don't get thirsty often." Aadhira hovered near the table, keeping his face a perfectly pleasant mask. Jannisari tapped her finger along the table. "Aadhira, have you been to Durem before? I live there." Something flicked in the frei's face, but only barely. It was so fast that most would miss the cue. "Yes, I have visited. It's very gothic in style, isn't it?" Jannisari smiled. "It is, it is." Aadhira looked to Dr. Kyou. "Is she here to sign my papers?"

Kyou was impressed at Aadhira's composure, he definitely knows how to put up a front and give a great first impression. He could even tell that Jannisari is satisfied with what she is seeing. However, the very faint flash when Jannisari mentioned Durem did not went unnoticed by him. He was good at spotting subtle changes like that. He had to wonder why though, probably a bad memory of the city? Admittedly Durem can be a little grey and dreary sometimes.
He set the third teacup back down when Aadhira politely declined the offer, letting the both of them interact for a bit as he sipped his own tea.
However, he was surprised once again when the Frei spoke to him quite directly. "Yes, why yes she is here to sign the papers." Setting his barely sipped tea back down, he opened the folder for Jannisari. It was the agreement to be Aadhira's legal guardian. "Well, if you are willing to take up the task?" Kyou said to the lady with a smile, his tone polite but containing a hint of a challenge.

"Of course, as long as Aadhira is willing as well." Dr. Jannsari could not take on a frei who did not wish to be taken on. She looked at him, pale eyes assessing. Aadhira floated pensively. While he wasn't stalwartly opposed to Jannisari, he wondered how long it would be until he'd be returned again. In the end, it didn't matter. He couldn't stay here. "Of course," he said simply. "I think we will suit." Dr. Jannsari smiled.

Kyou watched with a smile as Jannisari signed the papers and handed it back to him. Turning the document back in his direction, he glanced it over before closing the folder. "That's it." He said with a beaming smile. "You're officially Aadhira's guardian now." He clapped his hands together happily as he looked at them both. His gut feeling telling him that this will work out well.
"Do you want to stay a little bit more and finish your tea? Or...?" His work here is done after all. Jannisari could feel free to finish her tea if she so wished, and they could catch up some more. "Or perhaps I could give you a tour of the lab instead?" He thought he should offer as well, since this is her first time here. Alternatively of course, they could leave as well if they want to get to know each other better without him poking around.

"No, I'm afraid I must decline, Dr. Kyou. We have a very big day ahead of us." Aadhira looked at Jannisari curiously. She arched an eyebrow. "Perhaps I may take a tour another time." She'd be lying if she said she was uninterested in the facility. However, Aadhira happened to take precedence. This would be quite the boost. "The more time to acclimate myself, the better." Aadi added. He'd read Jannisari's mood correctly, he hoped. There were two options for him going forward: he could sit and be horribly depressed and be returned like an ill-fitting shirt... or he could adapt and be exactly what this doctor needed and wanted. The latter was far more appealing. He smiled serenely at Jannisari. She stood up, bracing both hands on the table. "Well, I do believe, Dr. Kyou, that that... is that, for lack of a better phrase. I'm sure we will remain in close contact. I also appreciate the list of other guardians you have provided me with. I'm sure it will be useful." Aadhira wondered how long it had taken them to expunge Justin off of the list.

"Alright, I look forward to your next visit then." Kyou smiled as he stood up, politely showing the new guardian and the Frei out. He escorted the duo as they walked leisurely towards the lobby. "But do please give us a call to make an appointment, so we'll know when to accommodate you."
The list of guardians that Kyou had passed to Jannisari was just courtesy. "If you wish to meet with other guardians or Raevans in a more casual setting, perhaps you can come to one of our events?" He added as he opened the door for her. "We're planning a summer event by the beach in July." It had been a while since they had any events like this, he hoped the both of them would show up. Gold eyes looked fondly at Aadhira as he floated pass him, following Jannisari out. "Will you consider coming?"

"Of course." Jannisari nodded. Perhaps another day, then, she'd have time to visit. Time was a precious commodity and now her free time belonged to Aadhira. It was a strange, almost sobering feeling. "I think I would be remiss if we did not show, but I'll let Aadhira decide." The frei looked up and smiled politely at the mention of his name. He clearly hadn't been listening, only catching that something needed to be considered. "I will see, later on," he said - and that seemed to be the right answer as Jannisari nodded. "Thank you again, Dr. Kyou. I imagine I will see you around." She smiled faintly and swept off towards her car, Aadi following behind. There was a curiosity burgeoning in his chest that he was trying desperately to quash.
