Mikael was surprised when he got a text from Melvin, not sure what to make of the invite. Malkam had given him a few parameters for interacting with the blonde man but surely he hadn’t meant not being able to talk to him at all? People were always assuming Mikael would be taken advantage of by other people without even for a moment thinking that he could handle anything they could throw at him. Normally it worked to his advantage in ways but sometimes it was a chore.

So it ended up that as he went to meet with Melvin he thought a lot about Malkam’s rules but didn’t actually employ any of them. That day he’d decided to dress in a pair of white and ranbow trainers, a tie dye pastel rainbow shirt and a little pair of white shorts.

“Hey!” he said with a really over-enthusiastic wave at the other man.

"Yes." he said matter-of-factly. "I like to be able to feel the sun and breeze on my legs. And I have a cute butt so I want to show it off. I like rainbows too" He kicked up a leg lazily to demonstrate his shoes.

"And sure, I could come shoot. Fen's always saying I don't shoot enough."

"I don't care if they are creepers or not." Mikael said with a shrug of his shoulders. "I'm not a little kid. Maybe I like creepers, creepers are easier." He didn't seem too fussed by the comments, put at ease by people who were to the point and didn't try to butter him up too much.

"I miss being at the house. Malkam just doesn't like you so I can't be there, which sucks."

"I guess." he said with a shrug. "I think he just doesn't like guys who are into me in general, he thinks you are all perverts." he did laugh. "A virginity blossom. Like virginity even matters. A butt is a butt." People were generally pretty weird Mikael had decided a long time ago, with weird things they fixated on. "I guess he's worried about the STD thing too, though he doesn't need to worry about that either."

He watched the shadowling be dispatched with quite a bit of force, startled by the noise. "I don't care what they want so long as they are serious about wanting it and don't bore me. A lot of people are boring, they want to do the dating thing and the umm and hmmm stuff. I get bored."

He looked surprised at the idea of Lawrence moping about anything other than not getting his way, though he supposed this wasn't really getting his way. "Why's he sad about that? He did it himself."

Summoning Fen he had to stop to shoulder the long sniper rifle, carrying it uncertainly, clearly unfamiliar with wielding him. "Honestly, not really, or well. I mean not more than I enjoyed being at home."

Mik snorted out loud. “Gross.” He said. “I hate all that stuff, I never want to do it. I want either cute times or actual cute times where people hang out and expect nothing more than for me to be really silly. I don’t want people to expect anything emotional from me or anything, that’s a huge nope. No dating, no relationships, nothing. Just flings. Flings make me feel good with none of the hurt and none of the effort.”

Melvin got a sympathetic look. “Yeah it must suck I guess. I’d hate to be in trouble if I slept around. I think I’d do it anyway though, because whatever.” He shrugged his shoulders. “If you want to do things that don’t’ spread it sometime that’s fine with me, just don’t tell Malkam, I don’t want to upset him. I’ll tell him on my own.”

He shrugged. “I don’t know if he’ll mess around on Rodney again, I don’t really get why Rodney was so upset anyway, but he seems serious about it I guess this time. When I spoke to him.” He fell a little quieter as if remembering something. “Have you seen him eat lately?”

"I'm good at discreet when I need to be like..." he said "I won't give things away. But the offer's there. I mean find a place, text me and I'll show up. Easy."

"Ehh. I don't want to talk to Melody." he said. "She got all mean at everyone for no reason."

Mik frowned at the mention of Lawrence though. "He used to eat lunch with me. He's not been. I've not seen him eat at all. I live where Rodney does, he doesn't eat with us. He says he eats at home. With you."

Mik levelled Fen, looking through the scope, aiming and firing at a far off black speck.

"Dunno, he just feels off about it, and he wouldn't talk to me about it. He was like that before. Maybe it's nothing. He's just...a bit dumb I think."

Mikael nodded at this, considering it all the answer he actually needed.

"She doesn't care about me. She'd ask me things and hang out but she never care cared about me. Like, she'd let me do things but she never was really interested in me in a way that felt like anything. She's not my sibling either, the only family I have is blood family. If I don't share blood I don't share anything."

He nodded though. "He's a bit childish yeah. It'd be nice if he didn't do stupid things."

Aiming the rifle he pointed it into the distance. "Real far." he said.

And fired.

He didn't see the bullet connect.
