Dria pulled out the crumpled list as she walked. Drew had given it to her, and asked for her to get the prescriptions on the lists after school was out. Her school was nearer to the Animal Shelter where they were getting the medicine for the kitten that Drew had taken in, but Dria knew that Drew wouldn't have just trusted with this mission if it was just that. Drew wouldn't trust the healthcare of the kitten he saved to just anyone, especially since the kitten was terrified of any one but him, and with good reason - he had saved it from sick and twisted abusers who nearly killed the poor kitten, and was the only human who fought to save him and was nursing him back to life slowly and steadily. Drew and Dria were nearly identical twins and at one time, trusted each other with everything; ever since the incident, where they'd been separated for four years, and Dria still didn't remember her past, all that was gone. But they now had fought for the Earth together side by side. Evidently, by asking her to get the kitten's medicines, he was showing her that he was putting his full trust in her again. All this flowed through her mind as she walked in the door of the animal shelter. As such, she had somewhat of a thoughtful look on her face as she got in line for the receptionist's desk. She also pulled out her wallet, which was made out of environmentally friendly material. She had personally started saving up to get such stuff, when she agreed to save the world.

One of Rory's favorite places to volunteer was the humane society because it helped sate her general desire for a dog and allowed her to interact with a variety of fuzzy animals that she absolutely adored. Plus, it gave her the opportunity to help her animal companions and the humans they had bonded with when they needed advice .
This particular human society was no kill and had a staff of some competent vets who donated their time in a rotation as they could.
It was nice, because it allowed the turquoise-haired girl the opportunity to get some hands on experience since she was pretty sure going to vet school was out of the question. That, was disappointing, but something she had expected and learned to cope with.
Hearing the chime of the door bell, Rory had come back out of the back to help out the few people who had gathered at the desk to check in. Two people were handed their prescriptions before she got to a girl who looked about her age. "Hi! My name's Rory, how can I help you?"

The girl from the shelter was pretty nice, Dria decided right away. "Hi, Rory, I'm Dria. My brother rescued a kitten recently and I mean directly rescued." (here Dria coughed and swore under her breath, "Those *BLEEP*" "Sorry, Some Humans can be so cruel. Anyways, he's nursing it back to health, and he needs these prescriptions." She handed Rory the papers.

Rory's smile faltered as Dria explained why she was at the shelter. "Oh no," she said sympathetically. "That sounds like a bad time." Her little heart was twisting at the idea of someone hurting a cute kitten just because.
"Well, the important thing is that the kitten is in good hands now, right?" There was a silver lining.
Reaching to take the paper from her she scanned the name and information. "I'll go fetch them and get a few extra things that might make rehabilitation easier!"
Rory disappeared into the back.

Dria nodded to Rory as she made the comments. She watched as Rory went the back to pick up the medications. Dria went ahead and began perusing a bookshelf nearby, full of cat care books, wondering if Drew would ever need one. One seemed to be on the psyche of certain cats, a theory that some had come from very far away.... Without realizing it, she had picked it out and had zoned out reading it...

Rory returned from the back with the prescriptions in a little white bag, a sticker on the front detailing all of the contents. "Simple instructions for most of them, two times a day, with every feeding." She set the bag on the counter along with a bag of calming treats and some animal approved first aid supplies. "If you forget, the instructions are on the bottle or you can call. Office closes at seven, but there's usually someone here until at least 9."
She kept long hours herself.
"Do you have any questions?" She carefully piled everything into an easier to carry box. "I recommend bringing the kitten in for a check up soon and to get it chipped, just in case if it's not already."

Dria popped out of the book as she was startled by Rory. She hastily put it back on the shelf. "Ok .. two times a day.." She jotted down the notes. She smiled. "Thank you a lot, I will tell him. Thanks Rory. Anything else?" What a wonderful girl. OOC: should we end it here?

Rory's smile was gentle as Dria startled. "No, I think that's everything!" That she could at least think of so far. "Please don't hesitate to come back if you do need anything and - " She paused to scrawl her number on a sticky note that she could hand to Dria as she offered the items over.
"You can text me too if you need. I'm not a vet but I've been doing this for a while and am pretty well versed with cats." Considering she seemed to have an ever growing collection of them.
"You have a good day, Dria."sailor hawk you can fin with your next post <3

Dria grinned as she took the box. She felt she had made a new friend. "Have a good one yourself, Rory." Dria left the shelter in high spirits, knowing she had fulfilled her brother's trust.
