The heat was not doing the poor mare many favors. She preferred the cold and the frost to keep her hidden from walkers and other predators but even the deep frost of the mountain winter had to melt sometime. To keep her mind from her discomfort, she watched Volney fly wishing her wings would allow the same as flimsy as they were. Volney suddenly banked midair and bolted back to Tove with an odd surprised chirp.
"Lady there is a stallion!" the bird warned fluttering about Tove as she slowly raised to her hooves. Her antlers felt heavy today, even though the icicles that normally adorned her tines melted.
Her powder blue eyes scanned the trees and spied the stallion. He looked like a deer, much like herself, down to the bells that sang of his approach. Tilting her tined head to one side, she found herself taking a step towards the stranger. His adornments looked like winter.....looked like her...and she just had to find out why.

 Marketh had been spending most of his days alone in the woods. wondering till the snow had melted and the flowers had started to grow and the grass was green once more. He didn't mind the warm weather to much but missed all the pretty things winter brings. His braid was dragging on the ground and getting full of leaves but that was nothing new to him. He often got odd thing stuck in his mane cause of how long it was. He could hear something a bit off but he was not to worried about it. there was many things that lived in the forest much like himself. Thats when he noticed the bird then the other. he bowed his head respectfully."Hello." His tone deep but sing songy. He took a step toward the other. It had been so long since he had seen anyone who looked anything like him. He could not remember when that was. Whoan it's ok Edited on the 11th: everything ok?

Tove was surprised when he trotted up to her and spoke in such a deep voice. Volney perched on her antlers watching the newcomer in a birdlike fashion. She looked into the large stallion's eyes and quickly averted her gaze. Volney began to preen his feathers, fluff and flower petals falling from his tail.
Tove glanced at the male's braid and bit back a laugh. She approached him gingerly. Using her sharp tines, she began to try to remove some of the leaves from his hair. Volney, having been disturbed, fluttered to perch on the newcomer since he didn't seem like a threat and had antlers similar to Tove.
"I can drape this across your back so it stays more clean?" Tove gently offered. trinkuh SO late! It got eaten in my alerts! My bad!

Marketh let out a deep chuckle a bit as she started to help remove leaves from his mane. He glanced at the small bird and smiled. He loved all animals and all things really. He felt the weight of his braid lighten a bit as she removed the leaves from it.
"That would be lovely. Thank you. Sadly when i try to do such a thing it just ends up tangled in my antlers and we are in a whole other mess." It was hard for him to do such thing by himself."what brings such a lovely Mare and bird this deep into the woods?" He asked raising a brow as he spoke.
He stood like a proud strong male but none of the cockiness many other of such looks had.Whoan lol gaia is good at doing that huh

She finished cleaning the larger debris from his hair and gently circled him with the bulk of his braid in her mouth. She draped it across his back making sure it would not slip past the cloth he wore. Like her dreamcatcher, it was covered in small bells.
"Oh, this is Volney. He is my bonded. We go everywhere together. And I am Tove," she introduced. Volney gave a small chirp of agreement instead of truly speaking. She returned to directly in front of the stranger her ears and tail up in a happy manner.
"My lady is with child and seeking a colder place," Volney spoke up keeping watch for any walkers or cats.
"Yes, I got too warm where I was and came here to cool down. I was with my brother but he wandered off to find berries or his mate. Something. And I saw you...you look so much like me. I'm sorry if we surprised you," Tove sheepishly added shifting her weight from one side to the other. Her hooves hurt.

Marketh Bows his head low and smiles so brightly."I am Marketh Jolly. It's lovely to meet both of you." His ears and tail be high and happy and he looks like his name sake.
"ah i know some where. I've been staying in a cave a bit away. It's in the hill so its's nice in cool in there all the time. it will be a good place for you looking for a colder place to stay and a lady with child should not be alone. It's not safe."
He looked worried.
He smiled more."We do look so much alike but different at the same time."He could tell she was needing to lay down."Come you can rest there. A lady with child should be able to relax with out worry of the heat. Come." He moved a bit making all his bell jiggle with the slight movement.

Tove blinked a few times registering that he offered a place to rest, if even for a moment. A small smile spread across her features. She bowed her head, heavy antlers almost touching the earth.
"Thank you Marketh Jolly," she muttered, "I accept your offer. Please lead the way." She glanced back for a moment knowing her brother was out htere somewhere looking for Nash or some other stranger for who knows what. She pawed the ground with an unseen hoof, an action Volney did not fail to notice.
"My lady," the bird offered remaining on Marketh's antlers, "I can look out for Kinak if we need. I am a flying creature with sharp sight after all and your brother is very hard to miss." Tove heaved a sigh of relief and nodded her thanks to the puffed up bird. She fell in step with Marketh.

Marketh smiled and nodded. "I will keep her safe while you keep look out for her family." Marketh lead her into the forest up a path along a hill to a huge cave in the side."Come i have made a large bed in here for resting and right now you need it far more than i ever will." He smiled."I'll have a look around and make sure all is safe. You relax."
With that he left to check and make sure nothing that posed any danger was in the area.Whoan wondering if you still wanted this or not?
