Mat had just traveled quite a distance just to relay a message his father received as a service. His father thought it would be a good idea to help send and retrieve parcels, letters or just word of mouth from one Soquili to another. He somewhat agreed and often gave a helping hoof.
This service task wasn't any different from others but instead of going straight back to his father he decided to adventure a little. He always went straight there and back without taking in the scenery or enjoying himself. An apple tree was in full bloom not to far ahead on the path he walked. His mouth started to water thinking about its sweet juices. He decided to go for it and enjoy an apple or two, they are good for you after all. His reasoning being that he had just traveled so far, he deserved a little snack/treat.
