Sitting down for two hours to listen to an orchestra with an intermission that lasted 30 minutes in between wasn't something that James could see himself getting into. Yet here he was, seated in the second best seats that the concert hall had to offer because a colleague at the hospital had something come up at the last moment and didn't want the ticket to go to waste and ten minutes into the performance itself, James found himself unable to take his eyes off the conductor who stood on the podium.
From that orange red hair that cascaded like a waterfall down his back to the way he waved his baton and had the entire orchestra respond at his cue. The evening was over all too soon alas, but James found himself lingering around for a bit, hoping for a chance to run into the conductor himself.
Joachim von Helmar.
It almost made the conductor sound like royalty.
Maybe he was for all he knew.
