Lying on the ground was a giant haired beast which seemed to be laying in the newly fallen snow, it was motionless, unmovable my any normal standards, yet seemed freshly stained. What surrounded it was a white wasteland, trees in the distance baring the white lush that was snow, making it feel isolated, yet this beast wasn’t alone, what came from above was a figure standing up, the figure appeared to be on a hill, this hill being blinded of its edge from the blistering white wonderland that they remained in. The figure would walk to the edge and jump down landing and marking the snow where the figure landed, the figure was able to approach the beast with ease through the snow finding itself standing over the body, reaching into a bag the figure would seem to grab a small object and would load it into a long-barreled object, this object was pointed at the beast’s head, the sound that came from it was nulled entirely, the silence of winter land was the cover needed to conceal any sort of sound. Moving this said object to be strapped to the figures shoulder, the figure would kneel down and lift the beasts head dropping it, confirming it was dead.
Soon a giant shadow would over shadow this couple, a monster and being, looking up the figure would just simply wait until ropes would fall down followed by a few other figures, the figure would walk to one of the ropes and hold onto it, only to be pulled up. The figure would end up finding itself being pulled to a ship that was flying in the sky, the figure would step onto the ship and upon doing so the visibility would be better up in the ship, taking off the hood that covered her head would reveal a woman with black hair her voice was calm and collected seemingly easily able to order those around her, it wasn’t always like this, that is, when she joined the crew. Oddly, this night was almost similar to when she first arrived on the ship and met the “dreaded Pirate Roberts” a well-known pirate that had the legend of being cursed by a goddess to have him roam the world unable to truly die. The memories of this encounter were something she could never forget, because that was the day she officially lost her name. That day she stood on the ship she would be destined to become a part of something that would shape her world.
These memories were clear as day, Laura had stepped upon the ship after killing a beast twice her size using her Rune bullets. The crew had stumbled upon her hunting grounds and ended up taking her kill onto their ship, which lead to them bringing her. They brought her straight to the captain of the ship the “Legendary Dread pirate” captain Roberts. He was an Old man, which took away from the whole idea of being immortal, he looked like he could have used immortality. Laura had questioned this fairy tale, but was simply told a simple yet straight forward answer, the curse he had was able to keep him alive, but to do so he would have to kill someone he cared for to do so, which in turn was explained to being able to transfer his conscious into another human being thus living in their body, while the original body would just continue to age and die. A terrifying concept to say the least but the amount of knowledge this man had, enough knowledge to create a book of adventures and information of nearly thousands of years of being alive would provide. Roberts claimed he needed someone two things, He needed a new vessel choice besides those whom were on board, and he needed someone to be his hunter which would help get the crew food, something they all needed as they were just skinny creatures. Of course, this deal wasn’t in her favor, either join or die, as their code stated. Laura ended up offering a term to her joining the crew, that if she found the ultimate creature for her trophy’s….she’d get the rights to kill it, not anyone else on the crew.
Laura would later spend the next 9 years of her life on this pirate crew, ending up becoming the second in command based on how well she was at killing and following orders. It would be that during those 9 years the captain fell ill and summoned her. Inside the Captains quarters that the two would be alone. No one else could even hear or see what was transpiring inside of this room, but after hours inside of this place the door opened up and Laura had walked out holding her gun with one of her hands, she lifted it up in the air creating a T with her arm and gun, yelling out one simple line “May the soul of this vessel find peace in the afterlife” just by stating these words the crew would cheer in celebration, to them their captain was reborn, able to continue living to guide them, The concept of their captains curse as built in as a belief. Life would continue until today, Laura was now the “dreaded pirate Roberts”
