Physical Description: Aramis is tall, with a runner's body. He has long black hair in dreads, dark skin, and striking green eyes.
Personality: Aramis is very even tempered; difficult to anger, scare, or surprise. Even when he was younger, he was a master of the poker face, keeping everything back behind a mask of wry sarcasm. Since bonding with Kituba, he keeps an even closer handle on his emotions, fearing that anything above a steady baseline could incite the feline to violence. Aramis has a strong will that is constantly tested by his equally headstrong feline. Fortunately, Aramis is resolute, impossible to move by badgering, violence, or appeals to emotion. Compared to Kituba, any human looking to force his hand by threats, manipulation, or persuasion will find themselves woefully outmatched.

Aramis is largely indifferent to those he meets. He doesn't particularly care about you or your problems, particularly if you try to make them his. But he is loyal to very specific people. And if someone's alright by them, they're alright by him. Those he loves, he loves wholeheartedly and would do anything to protect them, risking his own life without question.

History: Aramis was born to a group of traveling performers, connected to a pride of northern maned cats that performed in the shows. Though they travelled together, the pride and trainers kept to themselves mostly, staying at feline handling Craft Halls along the road. The children were all raised together in something like the creche, and were supposed to be treated equally, but in practice nepotism was rife. Aramis was the child of a nobody.

Aramis had a strong sense of justice, but was quiet and solitary. He kept a low profile and didn't come off as the big brother protector type, but he was often acting to stop the rampant exploitation and bullying that went on within the large group of children in the pride. He would typically try to solve problems sneakily, going behind people's backs to threaten the perpetrator. That was how [his friend] found him, threatening a bully in a back alley where no one would see them.

Compared to Aramis, who was the child handler who never managed to bond with a feline and a man who wasn't even part of the group, who had no rank or position or influence, [his friend] was polar opposite. His parents were bonded to two of the highest ranking felines in the pride. He was the golden boy, loved by all, and said to be a shoo in to bond a high ranking feline in the future. But beneath the surface, he was just as angry and dissatisfied with the way things were as Aramis was. He made him an offer, to work work together to try and change, rather than always be alone.

It took Aramis a while to trust him at first, but he was persistent and honest and really seemed to have good intentions at heart. More than that, he wasn't simply an idealist who spewed lofty ideals but didn't like to get his hands dirty. Like Aramis, he had a rough edge and wasn't afraid of causing conflicts or getting in trouble. Before long, the two formed a group with a few others that acted to protect the rest of the kids in the troupe that would typically go undefended. Thick as theives, Aramis considered him his best friend and almost like the brother he never had.

In breaks between performances, the group would stay with local feline handling Holds where the children would take lessons and train in the Craft. These holds would have felines from all across Pern, not just the Northern Maned breed that they were used to. It was at one such rest stop that, by surprise, both Aramis and [his friend] were sought out by felines within the Hall, a Southern Stripe for Aramis and a Swiftpaw for his friend. Both were delighted. But while [his friend]'s feline was sweet tempered and easy to train, for Aramis, the problems were just beginning. The group was full of experienced feline handlers, but they were used to the realtively social and docile Norther Mane cats. They had no idea how to handle a Southern Stripe like Kituba, whose violent tempers Aramis had to navigate largely by himself.

Kituba was extremely protective of him and high attuned to his emotions. One day, Aramis and his friend were having a rare argument over something- he couldn't even remember what. Aramis lost his temper for just one second, and Kituba attacked. His friend was taken to a healer in critical condition. Distraught, Aramis left the group immidiately, before any judgement could even be passed down. Wandering alone for a while, he eventually made it back to the feline handling Hall where he stayed for several turns learning to take care of Kitudba until he was experienced enough to set out on his own.

After travelling alone for a while, Aramis longed to be a part of a group again. Though Kituba enjoyed solitude, Aramis had always been raised as one of a collective. Several turns ago, Aramis found his way to a group of traders headed by a goldrider, where he found a new kind of family. The group has gained Kituba's grudging respect, and they both work to protect the community from any outside threats, while working as traders as well.
