The first thing Lepus did after her upgrade to super senshi was to show off her new upgrade to Onnie, because, well, Onnie was her best friend and lived only a few streets away. Beyond that, there was a small list of people that Lepus wanted to show to, in varying degrees of importance, though she currently was avoiding speaking to one of them. The Leporis twins were part of that list, though she hadn't seen them in awhile, and then there was Cadmus, who had shown her how to travel to her homeworld (and whom she had invited to visit her world someday)... Lepus' chibi senshi friends who weren't Onnie were also people she wanted to show, though at least Megumi and Mary went to school with her. So, in the end, that narrowed down her list to just one person- Scylla- that Lepus wanted to show off to. If anyone would be proud of her, it would be her, right? Right? Or maybe that was just wishful thinking on Lepus' part. Etoile wasn't here with her tonight, the little cat spending the night over at Onnie's place instead, leaving Lepus on her own to seek out the senshi of kraken. Lepus wanted to have her upgrade be a surprise, so she didn't text or call in advance. This turned out to be a problem, though, because Lepus had no idea where Scylla might be this time of night, if she was even out at all; very quickly, she began to realize her mistakes. She really should have sent a text, after all.

It's gonna be May! As the meme-driven audio in her headphones completed, Scylla closed her eyes and prayed for patience. Why Zora sent her this every April 30th, and why Jada listened to it every time, defied her mortal comprehension. Taking a pause against a wall to type out a slightly bitter reply to her younger sister- is it, Zora? Is gonna be May? I thought it was gonna be Youne she sucked in a breath of air and wrinkled up her nose against the stink of a poorly-maintained truck driving by. Ugh. Was it really going to be May already, though? It seemed like Christmas had been just yesterday, and the decision to return to Destiny City had been made so much longer ago than last November. The year was passing by terribly fast. Terribly being a key word. And there was still more of it, which left a lot of room for it to continue to get worse. b***h no you didn't. Zora's text was short and, as always, to the point. Scylla sent her sister back a key emoji, and slipped her phone away. Tonight had been quiet- only one youma dusted, a snakelike creature who seemed personally offended by her very existence, and hadn't much liked her tentacles at all. Peering off the edge of the coffeehouse roof, she reached out for any other energy signatures- anything? Hmmm. There was one, but it was way off in the distance. She'd take it, though. There was still another hour or so before she wanted to go home anyways, so making a new acquaintance (or catching up with an old one) would hardly go amiss. bouncing off the roof, the eternal moved quickly towards the signature, humming softly to herself before she realized just what it was she was repeating, and cursing her sister softly. It's gonna be May!

The approaching energy signature caught Lepus' attention, and she moved to meet it halfway. Was it someone she knew? Or, was it someone else, who sensed the presence of another senshi and simply wanted to see who it was? Personally, Lepus hoped it was the former- not just because she wanted to show off her new outfit, but also because a lot of the senshi and knights she met had a tendency to chastise her for being out so late on her own. She'd be thirteen in a little under two months now- she wasn't a little kid anymore. (Though certainly, she still acted like one.) Upon getting close enough to see just who it was, Lepus picked up the pace, waving as she jogged to close the distance between them. "Scylaaaaaa! Hey!" she called out, happy to see a familiar face, "Guess what!?"

Tugging out her headphones as she drew closer to the signature of another powered individual, it seemed that she was doing it just in time. The figure that seemed to be drawing closer was both similar and not- both in change and in the aura that she might have expected from this particular person. And where was Etoile? This couldn't be Lepus, wandering alone alone and apparently promoted to the next rank of senshi. She shifted her weight from foot to foot, drawing to a slow, and considering the young woman in front of her. "I'm sorry," she said after a moment, and scrunched up her brow. "Do I know you?" Scylla tried to look as innocently confused as she possibly could. It was, after all, good fun... and Lepus had come looking for a guessing game, so Scylla would play along in her own way. "Have we met before? You look super familiar."

"Um." Lepus stopped short in her tracks when Scylla claimed not to know her, a look of horror on her face. Was the older senshi messing with her, or had she truly forgotten? "You're... kidding, right?" Lepus asked, though she sounded highly unsure. "It's me, Lepus!" (She really should have recognized that Scylla was just playing along, but Alise had always had a tendency to be dramatic at times.)

The other senshi paused, and Scylla desperately struggled to keep her face straight at the younger girl's dawning horror. Oh sweet loving... Her face cracked. Straightened. Her lips trembled. Her eyes went a little too wide and innocent. Her red lips were sucked inwards, teeth pressing them together. And then the Senshi of the Kraken gave a loud snort through her nose, long and helpless, and she cracked. "Oh honey," she wheezed to the younger woman, moving forward and reaching out for a hug, "I was totally teasing you Lepus." Oh, but she didn't regret it. "Your face, though." It was so worth it. 10 out of 10 would tease again. "You got a new uniform. And a new aura- powered up." Scylla pulled back to look Lepus up and down, proud as if she had done all that hard work by herself. "You look great." she might have said Super, but she had already made that joke. Restraint was key.

" That wasn't nice," Lepus complained; she wasn't a crybaby like Onnie, but she did feel just a little betrayed. She was the one that tricked people! It wasn't the other way around! But then Scylla was pulling her in for a hug, and Lepus took it as a gesture of apology... or at least she assumed it was an apology- it might not have been. It wasn't like with Amaris and getting her to buy the younger girl a new stuffed bunny, so Lepus figured she might as well forgive the older woman. "I'm even more of a Defender of Justice now!" Lepus declared proudly, beaming at the compliments, "I got my pen upgraded a few days ago."

"I'm sorry," Scylla apologized, very sincerely; she was sorry. That she wasn't sorry. Mwahahahaha. She was still shaking a little with a laugh though as she was permitted to enfold the younger Senshi in a hug. Had she always been this wicked? Surely not. "You look super awesome," Scylla declared in unhesitating agreement. She was only human. Weak. With a terrible sense of humor. And no self restraint. "I am so glad you got it upgraded!" Lepus would have worked hard to get there, and Scylla would not skimp on praise. She could remember her first few times powering up when she became more powerful... It was both sad, and reassuring. Lepus was stronger, more able to protect herself... and a greater prize in this fight. A bigger target. More invested. Still, Scylla was proud of what her younger friend had managed. "Do you want to go get a celebratory cocoa?" she asked with a smile, "on me?" The absence of Etoile was unusual, but she didn't comment on it.

"I'd love to get a celebratory cocoa," Lepus said, none the wiser that Scylla wasn't really all too sorry. While Scylla hadn't brought up the subject of Etoile, the reminder that the little cat wasn't with them occurred to Lepus at the mention of cocoa. The tiny kitten was going to be so disappointed at missing out. "Etoi's staying over at Onnie's place tonight," Lepus explained, even though she wasn't asked, "She does that, sometimes- spend the night with her. It's... something me and Onnie worked out? Since she lives only a few blocks down." Sometimes, Lepus wondered (worried, really) that Etoile liked hanging out with Onnie more than her. After all, Onnie and Etoile matched more than Onnie and Lepus did.

Scylla beamed at Lepus, pleased that the younger woman had already seemed to forgive and forget the joke. Scylla slung her arm through Leups' own, the height difference not actually that much. "I know this nice little place that will either give us a cocoa if we leave right after, or we can power down and sit in there and get warmed up a bit." The absence of Etoile was explained without Jada having to pry, and the older woman nodded solemnly. "That can be good. Sometimes people appreciate each other all the more when they get to be apart every so often. Like how much happier I am to see my family when they have been gone for a few days. Plus, it's good to have sleepovers, isn't it?" Her lips quirked. "You get to have some fun too, while Etoile is, so that works out extra perfectly. We wouldn't be able to bring a cat in and have cocoa in a cafe. We'll just tell everyone I'm your older sister if they ask." she tilted her head, then added, "But we can grab some sweets for when she comes home, if you want."

"I guess," Lepus said, shrugging; before becoming a senshi, she didn't have very many friends, so her experiences with sleepovers were limited, as most usually had ended with her being forced to leave early after her ghost stories got out of hand. At the mention of the cafe, though, and of pretending to be sisters, she grinned. "Sounds like a plan!" Lepus said, of both the cafe and of buying candy for Etoile; she was an only child, so the idea of pretending to be sisters with Scylla was fun, as well. "Powering down is probably a good idea- or I mean, I don't mind powering down." Most of her chibi senshi friends already knew her real identity, anyway, since she had taken part in awakening them, and a few non-chibis knew her real name, too, so Lepus didn't really mind if Scylla knew who she was, too. As if to prove a point, Lepus powered down into Alise, figuring it was best to do so now, while nobody else was around. She was dressed for the warmer spring weather earlier, with her usual bunny hoodies replaced by a pusheen one (complete with cat ears and tail); all in all, she didn't look like someone who was interested in spooky things, or someone capable of scaring off other kids, but that was probably due in part to her mother still buying her clothes for her. "My name's Aliseanne, but everyone calls me Alise," the girl introduced, "Or should we use codenames? I'm all for codenames." Infinities pusheen and etoile are totally long lost cousins what do you mean pusheen is a fictional cartoon cat

Lepus powered down first, introducing herself, and Scylla let the power fade away as she turned back into Jada, the model tucking one black curl behind her ear as she smiled at the younger woman. "A pleasure, Alise. I'm Jada." Jada wasn't dressed as comfortably as the other girl in her cute little hoodie, but she was comfortable enough, and quite casual. "We can do codenames if you want," she agreed with a laugh. "My older siblings call me Jay, when they don't feel like saying two syllables. I wouldn't mind if you wanted to.I'm paying with a credit card though, so I don't think we can get away with too crazy a nickname unless you wanted to go for something like Bond Villains." would Alise even know who James Bond was? "Or something ridiculously obvious a nickname. I'm open to ideas though." She led the girl in the direction of the cafe she had in mind, walking comfortably next to her for a moment before kicking off her high heels and deciding to carry them instead. 6" heels were not the kind to wander along in at this hour of the evening, and there probably weren't any paparazzi running around looking for their next buck this late at night- and certainly not in this part of town. So she didn't have to worry about showing up in a trash mag looking comfortably out of place. "Your hoodie- that's the cat thing, right? Um- Pushie? The one with the little emotes in chats and stuff?" The cafe wasn't far, so she didn't rush, leading Alise along at a comfortable pace. "I suppose that could be your codename."

"It's Pusheen," Alise corrected, pondering; 'Pushie' sounded cute, but she wondered how many people would think of it as a legit name. Then again, there were people named after weirder things, though Alise wasn't sure she wanted to commit to naming herself after the cartoon cat just yet. As the two continued to walk, Alise continued to ponder over potential codenames, as there was Pusheen's sister, Stormy, and a few other cats... and a few other animals in the comics, as well. Just then, an idea occurred to her. "Oh, hey, I know! How about 'Lissa'? It's the name of Chrom's sister in one of the Fire Emblem games, and sometimes people call me 'Lisey', so... it works out, maybe?" she suggested to Jada. "I mean, 'Pushie' is fine, too, if not."

" Pusheen." Jada felt her cheeks flare, and she gave a wry little shrug. She could almost hear Zora growning in embarrassment for her, maybe smacking her forehead. "My sister was the pop culture one. I'm... well. Ask me about shoes, and I'll have an answer for you." she gave a little half-shrug, embarrassed. "I can go with Lissa, if you want." she led the younger woman around the corner to the main road, and in the distance a small coffee cup gently glowed in the darkness, a beacon for the cold and tired. Jada was among the tired, and looking forward to a little pick-me-up of apology cocoa. Her sister would know what Fire Emblem was- she thought it was one of those handheld games- didn't they have one for the phone now? "Jay and Lissa? Or do you have a better code-name for me before we wander on in there?" Jada didn't play many video games, and clearly she failed pop culture 101.

"Jay and Lissa work for me," Alise said, nodding in agreement; they were simple and easy enough to remember. If she'd thought about it some more, she'd probably have chosen something cooler, but it wasn't every day she got to run around going by an alias like some sort of secret agent. (Well, in the non-powered sense, anyways.) "And it's okay- there's a lot of famous internet cats out there! I like Pusheen a lot though, because some of the comics make me think of Etoi."
