It had been a long couple of weeks for Tyra and as this was one of the reasons the woman had found herself at the tavern in the weyr. Although she had now been at High Reaches for a year now, Tyra still didn't feel like she belonged here. The traditional view point that High Reaches was hard for her to get used to, even after a year. Some of the looks she got bothered her, but she did her best to ignore them, especially since there seemed to be a couple more female blue riders here.

Having seated herself at a table, Tyra let her gaze move over the area, trying to get a look at who was in the tavern and see if she recognized anyone. Nodding at the waitress as a tankard was placed before her, Tyra raised her lips and took a swig before placing it down. Orodreth would be happy that Tyra was out here and not back at their weyr where she normally spent her time. He did his best to push his bonded out of her comfort zone, something she sometimes tried to push back on.

Ashlyn needed a break, it had been practically non stop for her lately. She knew with the gold that had risen that there would be a hatching soon, which of course meant incoming work for her. Then she had a family she was raising and her duties to her wing, she wasn't sure when she actually got time to breathe. She walked into the tavern and ordered something to drink. Sitting down in one of the chairs, she looked around to see who all was here. Then she noticed what she was sure was another one of the female blueriders, like herself. If she remembered right, she was fairly knew to High Reaches, so it must be an adjustment to her. She felt Gyafrith suggest she go speak to her, but she wasn't sure. She may be getting better at talking to others, but she was still very much a wallflower.

V'rind was, comparatively, a bombastic presence. Krahsujunth had finally begun to get over his ire at failing once more to snare himself a gold, and the lady bluerider had gone out for a nice night of drinking. Aiming to spy some wingmates, instead her already-a-few-drinks-in grin lit on two other ladies she knew well, if in name only.

"Ashlyn! Going to be getting busy for you here soon, aye? Gyafrith looking forward to it?" She clapped a hand on the one woman's shoulder first, thrilled to have found not one, but two of her automatically favorite riders. Blueriders were not the tip of the top in High Reaches, and female ones even less so, but that was why they had to be each other's friends, right? "Tyra! Come join us, yes? I know we haven't had much time to get to know each other, what with thread and all, but you've got Orodreth, right? Krahsujunth's mine," She explained, bold and loud, and taking no notice of any judging stares she might be getting for admitting to belonging to the fairly well-known, stern blue.

Tyra had been happily sitting by herself, sipping at her own drink when she heard someone enter. She had noticed Ashlyn though she didn't say anything to the other woman, but then another woman entered and drew her attention as she begun to speak. The were both fellow female blue riders so Tyra would have just nodded her head at them, but then she was being spoken to. She could feel Orodreth prodding her to be nice and speak to them, causing the socially awkward brunette to take another swig of her drink before responding to V'rind.

"Sure.." She stood up and grabbed her drinking, moving to sit with V'rind and Ashlyn, her eyes moving over them. "Yes, Orodreth is mine." V'rind was in her wing and they hadn't had time to get to know one another. Orodreth did seem to like Krahsujunth, the two got on fairly well and he had nothing but praise for the other one, admiring him for even trying to chase after Golds. Now there came the problem of trying to start a conversation, shards...she wasn't good at this.

As Ashlyn was debating on what to do, with a little prodding still from a certain blue dragon, she was not paying attention to another person approaching her. So when V'rind clapped her on the shoulder, she nearly jumped in surprise. Then she looked to see the grinning face of one of her fellow female blue riders. She hadn't talked much to V'rind, but she did know of her and her blue dragon, Krahsujunth. The Weyrlingmaster's Assistant gave a soft smile and nodded her head about things going to get busy. She then noticed as Tyra was invited over, well she guessed that would end her debate.

"Yes, it is going to get really busy for me with a hatching on the way soon. You know how how my boss is, he likes to be extra prepared for things. Gyafrith does like seeing all the new Weyrlings, plus we have family that will be standing for it again. So should be exciting, if not a bit tiring. How is Krahsujunth taking things about not catching a gold? Hello Tyra, good to see you as well,"she responded to both of them.

Tyra's arrival at the table was greeted with a wide, somewhat sly grin, and reaching up over their combined heads, V'rind motioned for another, premptive round of drinks to be brought. "Krahsujunth won't shut up about it, honest," the admittance came with a grimace and a quick gulp of her own drink. "Always such a hatchling after flights, though if he'd just find a decent green to be infatuated with he might actually stand a chance. He actually strained himself, he tried so hard this time. Dumb old thing." Her frustration was clear, but so was her affection for the blue in question. What rider wouldn't feel the same. "Give him another tenday and maybe he'll be fit for company again."

"But yes! Hatchings! Who's on deck for your lot, now, Ashlyn?" She clawed her way back through mental archives of information and data and gossip, reaching for names and faces and ages. No one new came to mind, so it must be her sister then. "Think this will be it for Demanthra? Maybe get her own strapping blue, eh?" Though given a somewhat questioning eye by the weyr, for V'rind there could be little higher an honor. They were the few, the proud, and she was eager for what she thought of as their little club or band to grow.

"What about you, Tyra? Any youngsters you're going to be rooting for? Think there'll be a gold egg?" The gold that had risen was a transfer, after all. They'd no way of knowing how well she'd produce just yet, or what sort of temperament to expect from the hatchlings. Already gossip had become rife with speculation, with so much unknown.

She listened to the two other women speak. She knew Ashlyn, as the woman was in the same wing as her, but they had never actually sat down and talked to one another. Orodreth had tried to prod her into interacting with the other woman, especially since they both were blue riders.

Hearing that V'rind's Krahsujunth had a tendency to chase after Gold, Tyra raised an eyebrow some. "Sounds like he would love to fit in over at Western." She chuckled at this. Orodreth had never tried to chase a Gold, but he had entertained the thought once when they were there. He would never win, unless he waited until the very end to swoop in, but here that wouldn't fly very well.

Her eyes moved over to look at Ashlyn. "You have a sister as a Candidate? I hope she impresses." Hearing V'rind speak to her, she turned her attention back to them. "Not rooting for anyone really. Perhaps a few more Blues impressing some female candidate's would be nice." She sipped her drink as it was placed before her, glad for the liquid courage.
