Personality: Lively with a prankster's streak miles long, Calliope tends to get herself into minor trouble for the pranks she'll play - Up to and including buckets over doors and dropping beast stomachs filled with water on happless passer-by down below. This should never be taken to mean she neglects her duties, though - She's smart enough to finish them before going off to be a nuisance to her fellow Riders and the people of the Weyr.
Calliope forms friendship bonds easily enough, finding a companion in anybody, but keeps few close friends. When she's found a close friend in the past, she'd prove loyal to a fault. If a friend is in danger or generally needs help, she'll go to them in a heartbeat. At the same time, her loyalty has gotten her in trouble in the past, as she stood behind friends less popular with peers when she felt they were being wronged, and the same fire that drives her loyalty has led to multiple fights with other riders making snide comments directed at her. She loves Thoth with all her heart, and fights hard to prove she's worthy of riding him. If pushed to transfer Weyrs to Western, though, she's not sure if her brother would follow or not.

History: Being twins, both Calliope and her brother, Kousan, were born at High Reaches Hold. They had a mostly typical childhood in a Hold, up until they got too old to keep easy track of. Unlike her brother, Calliope often took to sneaking off every chance she got, singing taunts to try and lure her brother and other Hold children into mischief. Her parents were far less than thrilled, and often threatened to send HER off to be a Fosterling, even if she was of little political importance to the Hold.
When they were old enough, both become Harper apprentices - It was, at least, something for the inseperable twins to do, and something they both agreed on. Unfortunately, it meant the Harper Hall was now subject to the pranks, but on the positive it also meant Calliope found more people with good humor about it. This, of course, meant that her pranks began to escalate and become more complex, while still not pushing people to a breaking point - She knew what some people hated and were afraid of, and wouldn't use that on them specifically.
Of course, even the Masterharper can reach a breaking point of tollerance, and as soon as they were old enough to, mostly to get them out of the Harper Hall, the twins were sent back to High Reaches Hold to walk the tables. The lude diddies Calliope and Kousan favored didn't go over TOO well with some of the folks, though the twins had the sense to not sing them in front of children, but the Hold soon found them foisted to somebody else again and in need of new Harpers in the same breath.
A brown rider, out on Search for a recent clutch for High Reaches Weyr, was directed by his dragon to the twins. Was it because the dragon was amused by them, or becaues he saw something in the twins? Probably both. Regardless, they were taken to High Reaches Weyr, with the Masterharper's blessing(Because, really.. At least for a couple years, they'd be the Weyr's problem, not the Harper Hall's, with the pranks), to Stand.
It was a small culture shock, as not everybody took kindly to being pranked. Some did take well to the diddies, though.
After a few turns, when it was starting to look like the twins would simply age out and continue their lives as Harpers as they'd intended, two dragons hatched - Thoth and Seth - and immediately found their way to the twins.
And promptly argued about which of them was older, but the twins didn't care - The dragons were their life now, forsaking being Harpers in favor of being Riders. There was just, of course, one glaring problem in such a traditional Wyer, and that was the fact Thoth was very very...
Brown.
Why had a perfectly good brown, Impressed to a girl? For the past 9 turns now, Calliope's had to live with this fact, including taunts and teases. She'd never begrudge her dear Thoth for choosing her, though, and wouldn't change him for the world, doing her best on his back to fight Thread like any rider, regardless of their dragon's color - One of the few things in life she gives her all as much as her pranks and naughty diddies. Just because she's a girl, doesn't mean she's any less of a rider than her brother!
Other: Calliope and her twin brother, K'san, are near-inseperable, part of the reason they both started on the path of being Harpers - The fact they can both sing was definitely a bonus in this fact.

Physical Description:
Personality: A bit of a prankster, Thoth is also more than happy to Chase any Green that Rises. Sometimes when a Gold Rises, he gives it his very best shot, but he's yet to catch one. This sometimes frustrates him, leaving him grumpy and moody for a day or two before he's back to his old self. Now and then he's prone to watching and trying to catch in his mouth some small flying creature, before he's set back to attention by his clutchbrother, Seth. The only other human he'll communicate with besides his Bonded, Calliope, is his clutchbrother's Bonded and Calliope's twin, K'san. He fancies he can sing like a human, much to even his Bonded's annoyance.
