          Who: Bebe, Leigh, and Zeke
          When: April 26th, 2017; around 9pm
          Where: Lab 305
          Weather: Spring-like but cool

The call had come in while Zeke had still been at work, pulling a couple extra hours each day this week in order to get out of work an equal number of hours earlier on Friday. Given that, he asked as he always did to make the phone call to Leigh himself when he was either en route or at the Lab proper. It'd be a late call to be sure, but not too late as to push the meeting off until the next day. On his way to the Lab after clocking off work, he opted for the latter of the two choices. Better to be waiting than leave a nervous Guardian doing that!

"Hi Leigh? This is Zeke Farris from Lab 305! Sorry to call you so late but I have some wonderful news! Your Raevan is here!"

He went on to explain that he was at the Lab currently if she wanted to come over right away but understood if she would prefer to wait until tomorrow for a better time.

Naturally, Guardians to newly born Raevans were more than eager to meet their new charges no matter the hour and so Zeke was staying put, in a manner of speaking. Meeting yet another new Frei was just as exciting as meeting the last one after all!

Upon receiving the call and glancing at her caller ID, Leigh was quick to answer her phone. It was unusual for her to get anything more than a text or two at this time in the evening, so as she picked up it was with a tone of surprise.

Without hesitation she let Zeke know she would head on the road within the hour, thanking him for being present at the Lab so late for the sake of her and her Raevan. The drive from Barton to Gambino wasn't short, and she apologized that her ETA would be around 11PM.

Eager and anxious, she texted Johan to let him know she would need to leave as soon as he arrived home, lamenting that he would need to stay home to keep an eye on the Frei they already had staying with them. After agreeing to call each other during the drive, making some coffee for the ride, and parting with a hug, she hit the road.

It look about two hours to travel across Gaia to the island, and as she finally approached the lab she gave Zeke another call through her bluetooth to let him know she was about to arrive.

"Hey, I'm just pulling into the lot...! Thanks so much for hanging out so late for me. I'll be right in!"

He accepted the apology with grace and a little 'hey don't worry about it!' even if it was a 'maybe I should have called before I left and made an appointment with her for now' kind of thing. Ah well, it couldn't be helped now, and so Zeke set about getting in contact with his own loved ones to explain the situation and that he wouldn't be home in time for dinner. This is turn transformed into about an hour's worth of talking between himself and his beloved, the tail end of which was the smallest of arguments about how Brad should be going to bed while the other was determined to stay up and wait for Zeke to get home. In the end the conversation closed with a 'we'll see about that!' and laughter, which led Zeke to be smiling his brightest as he then made his way to the cafeteria to raid Kyou's fridge for a much needed snack.

Once fed and settled back in the lobby, Zeke went about getting everything ready for Leigh's arrival. Her file was pulled and the necessary final documents collected and filled out per the information he had and what had been provided to him from Dr. Kyou on one of his usual Post-It notes. Leigh's Frei - a fitting but nonetheless curious combination of the Endless Tide Essence and a pearl soul - was a girl. Not having met the Guardian in question before he had to wonder how she would take the news. Hell, he had to wonder what the woman was like in general! She sounded nice over the phone at the very least and he was interested in meeting her.

A few minutes before the mark of the eleventh hour a call came in from said Guardian. So she was pulling in was it? He got up from his seat and crossed the lobby to meet her at the door, going so far as to open it wide and hold it for her when her figure came up the sidewalk.

"Hey, Leigh!" He greeted her as if they were long time pals - with a bounce in his step, a smile on his face, and a hand in the air in a wave. "C'mon in! Nice to finally meet you!"

The vet might come across as an odd figure on this first meeting. Not having stopped at home he was still dressed for work in slacks, a tucked in button up, and tie which off set his colorful hair, beard, and mriad of piercings. As Leigh entered he took the woman in and he found her to be the picture of an eager, excitedly nervous Guardian. This of course was always a good sign. Anyone nervous to meet their kid for the first time was always a good thing in his books.

"Thanks for coming by so late and again, sorry to have called you as late as I did. I was at work before I came here if you couldn't tell."

He gestured to his attire but then swept his arm toward the desk in one corner of the room.

"I'd offer you a drink but with the time and everything I think getting right down to business would be best, yeah? We'll say 'rain check' on that, heh."

He padded over to where he had gestured and picked up her file, tucking it under one arm.

"Shall we? Or would you like a minute to take a breather and process everything? I know I probably threw a wrench right into your night with my call and I speak from experience when I say I know how, like, one-sighted and tunnel-y everything gets when you get the good news. Everything around you gets hazy and time moves slower because suddenly the only thing that matters is 'THEY'RE HERE' and then you get here and time slams on the gas and your whole world is then tilted..."

He trailed off with a wave of his hand and a chuckle.

"Ah-- Hi there," she nodded, smiling graciously at the man as he greeted her at the door with a small laugh, "It's nice to meet you too! It's been a long time in the making." Passing through the entrance to the lab, she paused once inside to await his guidance, clutching a bit nervously at the strap of her purse.

When Zeke thanked her for coming, she was quick to return the sentiment, glad he was willing to wait for her to make the drive out at such a late hour. She quirked a brow when he mentioned his other job and gestured to his clothes, assuming the Lab had been his sole occupation. His mannerisms produced a quiet chuckle from her, though, and she gave another apology for extending his work day.

"A rain check would be good," came her reply to his invitation, following closely behind as he made his way over to the desk. "I'd like to come meet more of the Lab staff at some point... You've been so helpful and I'm really grateful for all of this."

While he gathered up her file and began rattling off all the emotional ups and downs of collecting a new Raevan, she felt the tension rise in her chest. She listened quietly, a little bit overwhelmed by his speech before letting out a small laugh as he did.

"Yeah, it's uh-- a lot," she agreed, offering an anxious smile. "Honestly, I'm nervous as hell. It's exciting, though."
