Kim walked down the halls, her hands twitching at her sides, face a mask of fixed calm. Completely false calm but still it didn't do to start screaming and running. She had to keep herself relaxed had to keep cool. WHY HAD SHE DONE IT?? Oh she knew it was dangerous to touch things, being zapped by an electric shiny metal fish hadn't been enough for her. Nope, not Kimberly Whitmore. She HAD to steal something. It had glowed, it had looked nice in the dark. So she took it. Now she couldn't swim, not a biggie really. She sunk like an anchor and couldn't even paddle with a air tank on, she had to be rescued. Her left eye twitched, her hands flexed. The crystal was still in her pocket the weight accusing her. Yet she couldn't leave it either. For a weird reason it wanted to be with her. Kim pushed into the Life lab area and walked in, eyes darting around. She looked mildly deranged. "Doctor Lawrence?" Her voice breaking as she spoke, the twitchiness apparent in her stance.

Lawrence could get used to being called doctor he thought as the girl addressed him. He gave her a friendly smile. "The same." he said. "Follow me and we'll get you to an examination room where we can talk in privacy."
And turning he headed along the hallway to one of the rooms, opening the door for her.
"Go right in and tell me what has been going on, what brought you to this point?"

Kim took a moment to look at the man who she had come to meet. He had a resemblance to Mikael who she twitter chatted with. Part of her was still bemused by the others request for breast pictures. Okay fun aside now to be serious. She followed the Life Hunter into the room, hand unconsciously wrapped around the crystal in her pocket. Kim finally took a seat and started recounting the mission to kill the giant underwater mermaid pet, and subsequent trip to Atlantis. "So finally the power died along with Melvin's mermaid friend. He really seemed to like her even named her.. Then while we were leaving I saw the glowing in one of the homes. I was looking for a statue to replicate, but got this." Finally she pulled out the glowing crystal pyramid shape. "After I got it I suddenly couldn't swim float or even really move under the water."

Lawrence had only glancingly dealt with Kim and was unfamiliar with her medical history or her mission history. Melvin had certainly mentioned Atlantis, but he wasn't sure what sort of things had been down there or what happened to the people who followed him down.
He was happy to listen to her account of affairs and furrowed his brow in concern at the fact she'd considered bringing an artifact back a good idea.
He wondered how much it was worth.
"Well." he said. "Perhaps it is an artifact of sorts, many of them have fascinating side effects or abilities. However, they can be dangerous too, warping reality or living creatures around them. We runic them to help control their nature and help humans use them. Perhaps this is similar?"
Mostly he found himself curious about what sort of side effects could occur as a result of such an object. "Let's see if we can at least get some notes taken down about this object of yours. I've noted what you said about it." and he showed her the clipboard he was writing on. "Now, you mention that the initial effect was a lack of buoyancy and difficulty swimming."
"Have you experienced anything else?"

Kim shifted around a bit, her hands stroking the crystal almost absently, not relinquishing it at all. Getting it away from her may become an issue as she was rather attached to it, be it willingly or not. "Um yeah, so.. first I couldn't swim, just kind of sank and wasn't able to move, Melvin said I was damned heavy to get out of the water. Rude really.. I am not over weight." She sighed, she seriously wasn't over weight, she was a bit slight actually. A pout crossed her face a moment. "After we got out of the water things started as fine, but now, I don't know, water feels weird to me. I don't know how to explain kind of hostile. Everyday it seems a bit different, more angry?" Kim looked up at Lawr, her teeth gnawing lightly at her lips. "It tastes weird, and.. I don't know.. warm when I drink it even with ice.... and... um." Ugh how to admit that it felt wrong when she was showering?

"If you were overweight, you would float better." he said. "Fat is somewhat buoyant. It is why greyhounds drown so easily." And yet another reason why Lawrences drowned so easily. "The issues with floating certainl sounds like a side effect, unsurprising due to the object's point of origin. I'm sure you've had this lecture already but you shouldn't touch things from unknown locations. The fact you are alive is fortunate, there have been people turned into a very unique set of splatters on the wall from touching what they should not."
The sensitivity to water was of interest, and he raised a brow. There certainly had been a certain unwashed scent which hovered around the girl, but he hadn't met her enough to judge her personal hygiene as abnormal. "Angry?" he asked, finding this a very unique choice of word for a reaction to water. "Does it itch? Do you develop a rash? Is there any physical bodily response to it or does it simply feel different to you?" Her answer would more accurately pinpoint which area at the very least was affected, he'd heard of aquagenic uticaria but she didn't look to be experiencing a rash.
Physiological or psychological was a good place to start.
"How much is this impacting your daily life?" Regardless of the answer she definitely needed to be referred to someone who dealt with artifact conversions.
"Because my concern is that this is the beginning. Artifacts often grow in effect, you might find yourself in a situation with an irreversible intolerance of water, which well, given how much of a human being is composed of water, would be fatal. This is a fairly critical situation, if it proves not to simply be a mental response."

Ugh, now she had to admit the embarrasing stuff. "Like, when I try to shower no matter what I do the water it always feels too hot or cold. I mean, I can go to other showers and they all feel the same. No one else feels the water is weird, so I know it isn't in my head." She heard the notification buzz on her phone and glanced at it, wincing at the messages that were appearing. The ones that implied she had done more than screw up a little, and they were more aggressive. She replied smoothly with one hand, her eyes tearing a bit, and as one slid down her cheek it felt like acid. Which of course made her tear up a bit more, and the whole thing kept up. Soon she was scrubbing hard at her eyes to stop them from watering. "Agh... burns... s**t... ow..." Well that at least covered up that she was emotionally hurt. Damn, it seemed that one person messaging wanted her to like... die from this as punishment. "Agh... uh.. maybe.. we can use the runic specialist you know...?" She hissed out still rubbing her eyes. "This hurts like hell.. this is new... why the heck would watering eyes BURN like this?" Still it didn't seem to leave physical marks, just hurt like hell... SO FAR? The thought made her feel ill. "It could get worse..." She said looking up, again finally, one eye blood shot now. "what,,, a thought.." Yes she messed up. She was curious by nature, as well as.. impulsive. Her actions never had major impact to anyone but her before, how the hell was she to know she could do any level of damage to anyone else? She had been alone until now. no one cared about her... Kim closed her eyes. "They are going to put me back in storage aren't they? This one Peyton seems to want that.." She gestured to the cell phone. "Maybe they should..." s**t she was getting depressed now.. someone shoot her before she started acting like a freaken kid.

Lawrence nodded. "Yes. That is a problem and definitely a concern." he gave her a reassuring smile.
"I think I have all the information I need."
He handed over the paperwork he'd filled in with a summary of her symptoms and other vital information "Take this with you and go speak to Sunny, she'll tell you where to go. She's the very scary woman in charge of the infirmary, I wouldn't feel confident triaging you, it might be very serious indeed but it's outside my expertise."

Kim frowned and looked down at the paper she had been handed. She had no idea who Sunny was, or where she was supposed to go, but she did take the sheet and headed back out to the main area. She paused and sat down in the corner and started writing on the papers, frowning darkly as she was asked about physical ailments. She didn't know, didn't care but she did fill it all in. When she was done she walked around a moment holding the papers out looking confused.
