As part of my return to Gaia, I've decided to design and RP with a new character. I still plan on continuing with Orion, but I think a secondary long-term character will help get me back into the swing of things and allow me to catch up on what I've missed faster (in terms of what has changed among characters). This character's name is Lux Typhoid, and he is going to have a pretty dark backstory, whereas Orion's story was pretty upbeat, so we'll hit the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of emotions and thoughts and whatnot. This is going to be pretty interesting, I think!
Without any further ado, let the construction process begin...

≼Basic Information≽

Mind behind the Character:
    Conduit Nox

Name:
    Lux Typhoid

Gender:
    Male

Age:
    17

Physical Description:

    Personality:
After years of exposure to darkness of various natures, Lux became almost completely numb to the influence of emotions, and as a result he seems like he has none (that isn't to say he can't feel them, more so that he doesn't show them around others). Things that would normally elicit some sort of excessive response from your average person are met with a neutral stare and little to no reaction. Lux inherited the Typhoid's "glass half empty" view on life, meaning that he always seems to jump to the worst possible conclusion rather than swaying towards a positive option. Every now and again, he cracks a smile or laughs, but nothing more than a dull imitation of what they should be. Lux has a slightly sadistic nature, and likes to torture those he enters a confrontation with, be that mentally or physically. He prefers to avoid getting involved with others affairs, but sometime he finds himself incapable of staying out of it and will jump right in. He doesn't trust very easily, and this lack of being able to trust eventually led him to befriend a small bird who has become his closest companion. Almost like a familiar to a witch. The two are nearly inseparable, and Lux takes any threat or indication of harm towards his bird-friend as personal assault.

        ⊷ "Mastery Over Electricity"
The Typhoid family is widely known among the elemental-manipulation community for their entire clan being able to manipulate and create electricity with masterful precision by the time they are of age, and even more well known for the fluidity with which they do so. No one from the Typhoid family has ever seen a day beyond their sixteenth birthday without having mastered at least the basic utilities of Electrokinesis. Lux lives up to that reputation by having mastered Electrokinesis. There are various ways that he can use this ability, and those ways shall be listed below.

        ⊷ "Madness Enhancement"
Lux has the ability to awaken a strain of madness that sleeps within his soul and allow it to take partial control over his mind and body.
This process, known as Madness Release, gives Lux an increase in physical attributes such as stamina, dexterity, speed, and strength at the risk of completely losing himself to madness. While in this state, Lux is able to think a single command, and that command becomes his entire reason for living. It drives him and gives him a target. Whenever Lux enters this state, his hair becomes darker and stands up on end, his pupils shrink to the point that they are almost invisible, the nails on his hands grow rapidly and take on a sharp point, and lastly, his teeth take on pointed ends. He looks quite feral in this form. Whenever Lux releases the Madness' control over him, these changes reverse. Lux can only maintain this form for 30 posts before he has to revert back to normal; however, staying over his limit is possible, but it guarantees that he falls permanently into a madness-fueled state.

⊷ "The Secret Typhoid Family Heritage"
The Typhoid family's mastery over electricity has gained them a certain degree of fame that has remained inert for many decades; however,
there is another ability that the Typhoid family is infinitely more well known for. The ability in question has been dubbed the "Three Divine Pillars" by the rest of the Elementalist Society. This ability is passed down only through the Typhoid Bloodline, but is sealed within a member of the family until given the blessing to use this ability by the parent who passed the bloodline on to the child. The only way to receive this blessing is by mastering electrokinesis.
As you can see, the Typhoids have their own reasons for wanting to master electricity at such a young age. These three "pillars" are a part of a unique seal on a Typhoid's soul. The way this seal is explained to a child is that it has one passive phase and two activated phases, that have their own unique activation requirements to unlock the seal. Both of these activated phases can only be used once a day and are recharged with sleep. Both of the activated phases utilize electricity to fuel their effects.

        • Phase One - Pillar of Earth: The Pillar of Earth is the passive form of the Three Divine Pillars. The Pillar of Earth is what allows the seal to recharge during sleep, and does so by utilizing certain types of brainwaves to close the parts of the seal have been opened. In other words, the Pillar of Earth holds no value during combat, but is remains active until one of the other Pillars is set into effect, and remains inactive until said Pillar(s) are deactivated.

        • Phase Two - Pillar of Heaven: The Pillar of Heaven is the first activated form of the seal, and is activated by inflicting some sort of self-harm to the user while they are generating some sort of electricity. Normally this is done by biting their hand or arm hard enough to break skin, drawing blood. When this is done, a piece of the seal on the users soul opens and absorbs the electricity that the user is generating. Once the electricity is absorbed, it concentrates the electricity at a rate that exceeds one-tenth of a second, then shoots it all throughout the users body. In doing so, the body is invigorated, almost as if it is getting a second wind. The user's stamina recharges almost completely, and whatever pain the user is feeling is numbed by the adrenaline rush that follows. This doesn't nullify the damage the user takes, so they keep the sustained damage, however, they are not slowed down by the pain until the adrenaline leaves their system. This is a one-use effect, and the effects don't take effect until the next post after activation. Upon the activation of this pillar, the user's body flashes with a bright white light once the effects trigger. After this pillar is sealed, the user is overcome with a lethargic feeling; their movements slow, stamina is drained completely, and their entire body feels heavy.

        • Phase Three - Pillar of Hell: The second activated phase of the seal,
and the most dangerous to use and to face, the Pillar of Hell can only be activated by absorbing an extremely high amount of foreign electricity, but allowing it to settle rather than converting it to energy. Upon doing so, the seal can be opened, creating a red aura around the user. The electricity the user absorbed is manipulated by the seal to cover nerve endings and charge the users limbs with abnormally large concentrations of energy. In doing so,
the user's body can move faster, jump higher, and hit harder than ever before, while also preventing the user from feeling any sort of discomfort or pain. However, every movement the user makes causes strain to the muscles, and extended or excessive movements eventually cause muscles to tear and bones to break. The opening of this seal is extremely painful,
and the energy surge it creates can, in some cases, tear the user's body apart. Due to this issue, Lux must go into his Madness release state between absorbing the electricity and opening the seal. Otherwise, due to how young he is, and his inexperience with this ability, his body will be extremely injured and the opening of the seal will backfire. After this pillar is deactivated, Lux is unable to use any form of electricity for 10 posts, and his body is wrecked with pain.
