Guardian had slept heavily that night, the day before had been dreary and rain filled, and slipping through the mud to make her way around so when she'd fallen into an exhausted sleep having found a dry nook, that was all there was to it.

Waking the next morning, to the sun shining through the still present clouds she eased to her hooves and stretched slowly with a low yawn though she heard a noise not far off, and she cautiously investigated, surprised to see the pig laying there and seemingly in pain.

She stopped a short distance away, observing the pig, and she found herself drawn to it, by the cute face it had, the pale coloration, white with a faint hint of green swirling over which was definitely unusual and eye catching. It made her smile a little seeing it. Guardian seemed to have a liking for paler animals for pets given her white crane.

The thought of befriending the pig entered her mind, and she decided to see what had happened to it, assuming she could get close enough to do so. She looked around and moved to find something to hopefully appease the pig so she could get closer.

Guardian moved over to a berry bush not far off, and carefully snapped off a twig full of the large, ripe blue colored berries, hoping maybe they would work.

That was apparently ineffectual. Guardian left the berries where they were and moved a short distance off, finding a semi ripe apple on the ground from the tree. Maybe this would be better.

Guardian let out a soft yelp as she picked up the mushy apple, she'd had one from the tree fall onto her head as she was picking it up! Still, she cautiously tried again seeing the pig had liked it!

Apparently the pig didn't want the same food item. That was going to take some thinking. Did pigs eat grasses? There wasn't any near it, maybe she could find some of that she reasoned.

Guardian was beyond pleased when her second offering of grasses had the pig staying still so she could step closer, and try to ascertain just what it was paining it!

Guardian stepped in close to check the pig, wanting nothing more than to help it feel better, if she was able to accomplish that.

Guardian frowned as her actions spooked the pig further and she took a deep breath before attempting again.

Well that was a little better, the pig at least seemed to let her closer, though she couldn't tell just what was wrong. She decided to look again.

Guardian took a deep breath and stepped closer to the pig, glad to see it seemed to be calming down, and letting her look. That made this a little easier.

Guardian was glad the pig was letting her look at it better, and though she didn't feel like she looked at it any more in depth than she already had, she noticed it seemed to be favoring a leg slightly, and this gave her pause for thought, even as the pig snorted at her unhappily.

Realizing she was upsetting the pig, she pushed forward the bunch of grass again, glad to see the pig once again settling down and letting her close! That made her breath a little easier as she tried again.

After she set the grasses down she took a careful step backwards to allow the pig to eat in peace, and to maybe settle a little more. After doing so she blinked a moment, and realized the leg she'd been looking at looked a little darker colored than the others.

Maybe the pig had hit it on something, or gotten it caught. She added this new information to what she already had.

She stayed still for quite awhile, just watching the pig eat, glad it had an appetite even with its injury. She found that the pig seemed to trust her a little more, and she came closer to it than she'd managed previously.
