████ BACKSTORY
██████ ▻ Melania was born in Rome, Italy into the Panessa Crime Family. Her mother was gifted with the abilities of a telepath but was found out by her husband and immediately used to his advantage. 'For The Family." She helped her husband, but when it became too much, she had a mental breakdown. She was kept in the attic of their family home, leading a young Melania to swear revenge on her father for the abuse of her mother. Her father was keeping a close eye on her just incase she developed the same abilities. While Melania did have these budding powers, she hid them. Often she would have to lie or let bad things happen to others or even herself to prove she didn't have powers.
When finally her mother died of exhaustion and malnutrition, that was when Melania -just a teenager at this time- decided to start a long plan to destroy this family, utterly. All that he cheated to get and abused her mother to achieve would fall before her. The plan started simply; she would marry someone her father hated (Antonio Provenzio, would do the trick), then she would tell him and his family all their secrets. She told her husband all about how her father abused her mother and killed her. He was glad to help her in bringing down a family that had long since been a thorn in his family's side. It seemed his own father was much the same type of deranged all-or-nothing monster.
Through their work against both their families, the two actually fell in love instead of their marriage of convenience and started to create a family of their own. Unfortunately for the young lovers, both their families had grown wise to what was happening and plotted to kill them both. The newly started business to take work away from the corrupt companies the two families owned was burned to the ground, those who dared leave and work for the couple were killed in 'accidents', and finally... Antonio was found by his own wife, dead in a bathtub from an apparent drug overdose.
That was it. The final straw. Melania, instead of going to the police, mentally forced the two heads of the families, one at a time to commit suicide by simply wasting away. No food, no drink, they shut themselves away till they starved to death. Melania did not start there, moving her reign of silent terror and rage till all the families that had plotted against her and her husband was dead. Some just suddenly drove off a road, or slit their wrists, or even drank themselves to death.
With all that she had lost, she moved away from Italy entirely. Immigrating to America, Melania became and actress and model at the age of 25. SHe played on the misery her past had been and gained a tremendous amount of sympathy. Having your family destroy themselves from your marriage of love. It was very Romeo and Juliet. Of course, this left her deeply damaged inside. Melania was haunted by nightmares, regrets, and dangerous amounts of stress and overwork. She quit being a model and an actress, retiring early for the world of business, hoping that might help her conscious to help others.
She started several companies under and umbrella corporation, getting assistance from Lex Corp and Wayne Industries, settling in the troubled Gotham City. Where else could possibly need more help than Gotham? At the age of 29, Melania is fully settled her roots into Gotham, and her people. Her companies of non-profit homeless shelters, battered women and children shelters, and even her clothing line and jewelery stores freshened up Gotham's dark aesthetic. People were being helped, the rich of Gotham where being lavished upon, and Melania was feeling much better helping instead of harming others.
But... there was still the horrible criminal element in her City. Not to forget the vigilantes... Something would have to be done about this. Melania even has plans to possibly become the Madam Mayor if Gotham City.
