Irkalla. Page of Cosmos. These were just two titles that made Kathryn cringe every once in a while. Even after taking what amounted to a self-defense class Kathryn found herself dreading the nights she had set aside to do small patrols around Destiny City. Being awoken as a page had altered her lifestyle, and perhaps not in a good way. Tucking her ornament string into her bag Kathryn gazed at the ceramic Easter egg sitting on her bedside table with a smile before exiting her room and her home. Taking care to put a fair amount of distance between her chosen place to patrol and home Kathryn ducked into a park and strode into an area of cover before pulling out her string and powering up into Irkalla. The page of Cosmos was wary as she emerged from the cover that the trees had provided and began to tease out any potential auras in her vicinity. It seemed as if right now it was going to be a slow night. Sleet Tempest Snape Hopefully this start works for you

So far the night had proven fairly decent in terms of energy collected. With the warmer weather, and the evenings being nice, more people were out and he was able to find groups of people to gather from with a fair amount of ease. It wasn't the easiest, that would likely come when it got warmer out, when people didn't want to stay indoors due to the warmth, but it wasn't bad.
He'd been keeping to the shadows, hidden from the people he gathered from, as he let his wraith do the work as it would pass in and out of people as it gathered energy from them.
Having just left the one group he'd been gathering from he was moving around looking for another group of people he could let his wraith gather from, while he kept hidden.
Pausing in what he was doing, which was just calling out the wraith he had, he could feel an aura near by - damn. It was order...but not a senshi. So a knight? Biting his bottom lip he shook his head and focused on what he was doing. The group of people were sitting and talking, it seemed like they had just had dinner together and were planning to do something else tonight they just had to figure out what. All young adults, older than he was, they seemed to have been having a good night. The park bench they sat on and around made them an easy target for him.
The previous group had been people gathered outside of a bar. He'd been hidden around the corner of the building in an alley as his wraith grabbed from them as they failed to notice somehow, no one seemed to notice in fact.

Well damn. That wasn't what she wanted to feel as soon as she left the copse she had wandered into moments before. Irkalla could sense an aura nearby. It was similar in feeling to the aura that had haunted her since she had first transformed; but it was also different The grungy feeling that washed over her made the page realize that she was not as alone as she thought she had been mere moments before. It was a horrible sensation that coursed through her at knowing that another 'enemy' was out and about tonight in the park. Wrapping the string of ornaments tightly around her left wrist Irkalla moved slowly towards the source of the unpleasantness that she was experiencing. Irkalla still kept to the shadows as to not draw undo attention to herself. It would be a poor showing on her behalf if she got waylaid by those that she was trying to protect. Closing in on the signature she was feeling Irkalla took note of the group of people on the bench and then pinpointed the location in which the aura was coming from. Irkalla could sense something that was flitting around the bench and instead of going after it she decided to go after the energy signature. She was still new and untrained and roughly pushed through the foliage; pausing only to take in the individual keeping to the shadows. Her gaze narrowed on the stranger before she took a step forward, "whatever you are doing ... I demand that you cease it at once." Sleet Tempest Snape Poor little page, in over her head

He'd felt the incoming page but chose to ignore it. He had bad luck lately it seemed, or maybe just in general? Every time he'd gone out to gather energy, or at least it seemed like every time, he was getting busted by a senshi or a knight or just someone! Always someone stopping him and engaging him in some form of a fight - even some little child!
He expected the voice, though the words could have honestly been anything, he summoned back the mirror wraith, which was by now fairly solid in form. Watching it leap back into the mirror shard he tucked it up his sleeve, glad the glass which made up the broken shard wasn't sharp at all - that would not go so well if it were.
Turning slowly, dark eyes landing on the page, he shook his head once. "Fine...anything else? I have things to do tonight." The darkly dressed senshi questioned lightly while hoping this was it, that he could go and continue on elsewhere. He really hated how much time he kept having to invest in moving from place to place as he was booted from one place to another by senshi and knights alike.

Irkalla hadn't really expected for her demand to be acquiesced to so quickly. The Page of Cosmos stood squarely in front of the youth and let her gaze wander for a moment before watching as the "thing" that had been flitting around return and disappear into a shard which was then tucked up into the youth's sleeve. Blinking slowly Irkalla realized she had been asked if there was anything else that she wanted. The questions that were bubbling up in her head ceased at once as she took a step closer to the youth. If she sent him away and he merely continued doing what he had been doing then she wasn't doing her job very well. Hopefully injecting a little bit of steel into her voice Irkalla held out her hand. "I think that I'd be happy if you gave up whatever that thing was that just returned back to you into my care." She really didn't think that she had a fighting chance to actually beat this stranger in a real fight but maybe, just maybe he'd listen to one who was older than he was. Unwrapping the string of ornaments from her left wrist Irkalla now let it hang loosely at her side. It wasn't much to aid her in a battle but at least it was something ... unexpected. Perhaps she could snag his arm and grab whatever it was that was up his sleeve.

"My mirror shard? Give it to you?" He questioned before shaking his head a moment later. He wouldn't be handing that over, he needed that. It seemed rather...hard to come by anyway, and he wasn't going to go telling Remarque or Acubens that he'd just handed over a mirror shard to some page. That would just...not look good on his part at all.
As much as he didn't want to fight, it took more energy than it was worth not to mention the stress, but if it meant keeping his mirror shard than he'd just have to fight. He just hoped she wouldn't push for it or try and get the mirror shard herself.
Taking a slow step back, hoping she'd let him go and not try for his mirror shard, he kept his eyes on her - waiting and watching. Whatever she did next would determine what he'd do. He couldn't let her have that shard, he knew that much, so whether he wanted to fight or not the choice was in her hands...whether she knew it or not.

Mirror shard? Irkalla's brow furrowed as she tried to figure out just what a mirror shard had to do with this youth and what she had seen. The page could not wrap her mind around it yet. Shaking off the mental lapse in concentration Irkalla sighed before catching the youth's backward step. "I'd feel safer knowing that it and whatever it was that came out of it is no longer around. I don't know what you were doing but it cannot be allowed to continue." Irkalla had no idea on what to do if it came to a struggle but deep down inside that thing, that mirror shard had to be destroyed. Irkalla grasped her string tightly as she stared hard at the youth before advancing forward. She didn't want to dwell on whether or not she was making a rash decision but knew that what was going to happen was definitely classified into that category. The Cosmos Page darted forward in an attempt to grab the youth's arm.

"And I can't give you the mirror shard." Which was just what she was after. It was also what he wasn't going to be turning over, not willingly anyway. He had been given that and rather needed it, as it allowed him to summon a wraith in order to gather energy. Not only that but he didn't want to have to go to Remarque about having it taken or broken, or anything else, as it felt like he'd be disappointing the other...or failing in some way...showing that he wasn't worth time and effort. He couldn't do it!
Stepping back still, hoping this didn't come to blows, he watched her advance on him rapidly. She was going to fight...
He couldn't fail...he couldn't let her have the shard. As much as he didn't want to fight, didn't want to hurt someone, she was pushing him into a corner and he had to do what he had to do. "I was gathering energy. But since you're here and looking for a fight - you leave me no choice." And he went to attack first, best to attack first then let her do so. He just couldn't disappoint his own court - he couldn't!
Reaching up to his hair he appeared to pluck a hair from his head, though hairs didn't glow green, and with her so close there was no way it would miss. "Gorgons strike." The word was whispered, no need to raise his voice, he directed the green light at her. "I'm sorry...but I can't disappoint my court."
tefla Sailor Scout Attack: Gorgon's strike. Reaching up, with either his right or his left hand, and from his hair he will pluck a "hair" that glows green. The green glow will rush forward from the hair in his hand toward his target, someone within a six foot radius of Kiuchi. If the beam of green light does in fact hit the target, or someone who puts themself in the line of fire. They will then start to feel mildly nauseous and unwell, including possible blurring vision. Nothing too serious, of course. This will last for thirty seconds and can be used three times in battle. During this time being more active, or other outside things, may enhance the nauseous feeling.

Irkalla's eyes widened infinitesimally as her fingers brushed the sleeve of the youth's arm. It wasn't enough though to call it a secure grasp and almost immediately did the youth draw back far enough to break the contact between them. In her mind the page knew that the shard had to be retrieved and yet it looked like it wasn't going to be as easy as a task as she had imagined. Irkalla glanced around before her attention was brought back to the matter at hand when the youth spoke a quiet phrase and shot a green light at her from his hands. There wasn't enough time to avoid the light and she watched as the beam strike her but there was no pain associated with being struck. Maybe it is a distraction technique? That thought was nullified seconds later as she began to experience a sudden onslaught of nausea. Was this what that stranger once meant by being a magic slinger? The feeling of illness washed over the page and she found herself taking a step backwards. Her gaze wavered before focusing once more on who was now classified as an 'enemy.' Irkalla grimaced as her stomach once again sent a warning to her mind to perhaps take it easy. Maybe it would be wise to listen to it this time. Still, that kid was dangerous. That shard needed to be confiscated. But how could she get to him feeling like this? It wasn't possible. Maybe she'd have to let this one go.

It was good timing that he put his magic to use when he did, she had been getting far too close to his mirror shard for comfort. In fact she had been too close to him, touching him, for comfort. It wasn't just because she was an enemy, which she clearly was, but because of the fact that she was an unknown person to him and it was just...too familiar being so close and grabbing onto his sleeve - it felt wrong somehow.
Watching her take a step back he took one back as well, adding to the distance between them.
He should really turn and leave, he needed to, he didn't want to stick around for this and see what she would do when she came out from whatever his magic did. "I - I don't know what my magic just did. I would say I'm sorry but you were too close and I'm not disappointing my court." The last bit, about disappointing his court, was said in a rush before he turned and took off. He'd be heading home after this....actually no - he was going to caleb's and curling into the other's arms tonight, that's what he was going to do.

His court? What did he mean by his court?
As the feeling of nausea began to fade Irkalla had to admit that the magic used on her had enabled the youth to take off. Knowing that to follow was ill advised the page sighed before categorising the symptoms that had plagued her momentarily. It seemed as if the nausea was the main symptom. Shaking her head at her folly the woman thought that perhaps it would be wiser next time to patrol with someone else.
That thought triggered remembering Keely from the group that had met to instruct those in methods of self defence. Actually attending and putting lessons learned into prospective would need to be worked on next time, as would perhaps finding out if Keely wanted to still have a patrol partner.
It was a lesson learned that night that being alone could have dangerous consequences and Irkalla, Page of Cosmos was not about to repeat the same mistake twice.
