Physical Description: A rather tall female at 5'6", Rennati has light brown hair which when in sunlight, glimpses of red, blond, and darker brown strands can be seen mixed in making her fairly general color stand out just a slight bit. Her hair hangs just below her shoulders, when she leaves it down, she often pulls it back and ties it up out of her face so it doesn't hinder her while she works. Her skin holds a nice tan, but not overly so, bright sapphire eyes are the dominate feature of her face. Her hands show sign of intense wear from her trade.
Personality: Rennati is a
hardworking young woman. She does everything she can to hellp her parents out even being a member of a hall herself. She depends on her
creativity and aptitude for the arts due to her craft to make her own livelihood and help out her parents where she can. Ren is a very diligent person, even with all of her
energy she is always determined to finish something and have the focus to do so. Now, with all that energy she may wake up at sunrise and goes past sundown with energy almost always to spare. It might not be the best strategy and may wear her down so occasionally she'll sleep way past sunrise but then find herself ready to go again!
When Rennati isn't helping her family or practicing her craft, she is normally found with her best friend (and sister) Amice. Only being a few years apart, they girls always got along growing up which made things easy on their parents. Both were giggly typical young girls but as they aged differences appeared. Whereas Amice was more shy, Rennati is
brave, often being the first to talk to whatever hunky craftsman or dragon rider they might happen upon. Ren would do even more for her sister than she would her parents and often puts her younger sister first. The
loyalty and love Rennati has for her sister is probably one of her best traits. She values the time she spends with her sister and parents highly as she tries to split her time evenly between her family and her craft. The issue becomes that Ren gets
overly attached to things and people. Thankfully, she's grown up with a sister that can help keep her in check but that doesn't mean it fixes everything. So while she might not be extremely clingy to people she's claimed as friends, it may cause her to be careful about the friends she does make. She doesn't want to set herself up for heartbreak.
Something that not many know is how much she
second guesses herself. While she might be brave one moment, once she gets through that particular situation she might ask herself, "Did I make the right decision?" While she isn't really indecisive as she has no problems making the decision when it needs to be made, she may have
regrets. This trait unfortunately complements how attached she gets to things because if she were to lose the person or object, she may begin to wonder what she did wrong and regret anything she could have done differently.

History: Saw dust and wood shavings accompany almost every early memory of Rennati's. Both of her parents are journeymen woodworkers, her mother in furniture design and her father a carpenter. The two complemented each other very well. Jocassa and Velimir were ecstatic when they found out she was pregnant with Rennati. Of course, they wish she would have been born a boy just as they wished Amice, Ren's younger sister would also have been a boy. But, alas, they had two girls and were still very much happy and loving.
Growing up, she was delighted to have a sister only 2 years younger to play with. The two were inseparable and very much best friends. Both ended up picking up on their parents trade and became apprentices at the same time. Their parents, however, did not wish to be the ones to train them. If their children were to make a livelihood with something, they wanted to make sure whoever taught their children could do so impartially. So the two girls spent some time away from home in Lemos at the official woodcraft hall. It would be here that Rennati would be found by a search rider at the age of 16. It was an honor, and she knew it was, but it was the hardest decision she had to make because it meant leaving her sister and her family. She accepted though, and became a candidate for High Reaches Weyr. It was heartbreaking, during those two years when she would stand upon those sands and wish maybe this time it'll make things worth leaving home for.
It was as if the world wanted to give her a reason to stick it out: the return of thread. Like most families, Rennati's didn't escape unscathed. Her father had been outside when thread began to fall and couldn't evade some of it fast enough. It fell on his dominant arm but those around him acted as quickly as they could which saved his life. His arm was amputated but he survived, much to Rennati's relief. The 17 year old wanted to leave the weyr and go home to be able to help take care of her family. Her family, however wished differently. Upon her sister's urging, they wanted Rennati to stay so that she could become a rider and fight the thread that made their father unable to work as he once had. It was difficult, but once more she agreed to stay and stand when called. Now, being away from her family isn't any easier and she still gets homesick. The strong urging from her family caused her to throw everything she had into becoming a rider. Along the way, she made some friends too which made things a little easier, though none of them would take the place of her sister, her best friend!Other: Description RefCandidate Specific Questions
