Dem held her custom made twin blades in her hands and looked at the beast she faced. Even she knew it wasn't a good idea to poke the proverbial bear and not expect some kind of retaliation. So far she had been antagonizing it. It being a Yaotl. One of Tendaji's biggest beasts. Of course the Alkidike wasn't sure exactly as to why she thought she needed to take it on in a fight but she did.
Twisting her blades in her hands, testing her grip, she bent her knees at the ready and watched the movements of the beast. Before it knew what it was going to do she could see it. The Yaotl was getting ready to charge and she would be ready. Only, it moved a lot faster than she thought it could so her reaction time was slower than she had wanted it to be. Dem felt her shoulders get grazed and it knocked her off balance. So she fell to the ground and rolled the rest of the way to make sure she was clear of an immediate counter attack. Shifting her shoulders so that she was move comfortable she narrowed her eyes at the creature she faced. If that had been round one then it certainly won that one. Not only had it surprised her with it's speed but it had knocked her over. “Clever weed..” She said approvingly. Now she just needed to ready herself for the next round. She might have lost the battle but this was war.
