As the wraith before Acubens did its job, darting back and forth through the unsuspecting pair who didn't even seem to see it at all, Acubens was busy furiously jotting down whatever she saw from the cover of darkness. The notes began scientifically enough, with the process by which Acubens used to draw the wraith forth and then moving to explain that the wright did not need any instruction. It just did it's job. Now, however, as it grew to be less of a shade and more of a pale creature moving about the night, she moved slowly into theory.
The Mirrorwraiths are neither corporeal, not are they non-corporeal. As though a reflection copy of their Dark Mirror masters the Dark Mirror Senshi themselves, they occupy a space in between. They cannot be touched at first, though grow more tangible as they pass through their victims. They have not been observed trying to pass through any other solid matter, however, that does not mean that they cannot. They cannot deal damage Normal wraiths cannot deal damage, though there are larger wraith deeper in mirrorspace which have proven to be destructive (see April 2017 Pan and Dora logs).
Acubens looked up from her scribbling and circled around so that she could see the pair head on for more clear observations.
Victims of energy draining will feel fatigued, but no pain. This is not an attack in the traditional sense of the word. Personal experimentation will be conducted to discover exact sensations and any fixes to problems caused by energy draining. Victims of the evening of April xx 2017 appear drowsy, but otherwise unbothered. Female victim has yawned, and male has patted her head. Both are unaware of possible danger.
Tentative Verdict: Draining is NOT DANGEROUS.
Acubens underlined the last two words multiple times, as though solidifying the thought in her own mind. So engrossed was she in her own studies that she didn't notice the dark mirror aura approaching her.

It had been a while since Mimistrobell powered up. She had no good reason for not doing her part for the Court, but it's not like she was abandoning them or anything. With school and work taking up most of her time as a civilian, she just hadn't really thought much about it. Plus, she had spent a lot of time modifying the beat up old car she had bought. Mimi was really quite proud of what she'd be doing with her life outside of the DMC.
On this night, she had been jumping from low rooftops to other low ones. Mimi had her mirror shards in one hand, summoning them as she went. They would drain a little energy each time, but not enough for someone to pass out on the streets. Honestly, she didn't really care if they did lose consciousness because of her, but there would be some guilt with not knowing what else could happen to them. With being so busy all the time, Mimi had to make up for all the times she didn't power up and drain people. She owed a lot to the Court.
Mimi was content with the pace she was going at until she realized another Dark Mirror Senshi was not too far. This one felt more powerful than her and since she hadn't really talked to anyone from her faction in a while, the super Senshi headed towards it. There, she saw an eternal Senshi watching mirror wraiths and scribbling in a journal. They seemed to have been occupied to the point where they didn't notice Mimi approaching.
"Excuse me, Miss," Mimi said from behind. "What are you working so intently on?"

Acubens jumped as she was addressed, clearly not expecting to be joined this evening. Once she realized, however, that her visitor was one of her own, her surprise faded into an easy smile. "Just... taking notes," she muttered, calling the wraith back to its shard once it was finished. Maybe some other time she'd record what happened if you let a wraith go for as long as it could but... they were such a sweet couple. Acubens only wanted to sprinkle the evening with a little sleepiness. Nothing to spoil the magic. She didn't know how long they had known each other but she liked to think they were old lovers keeping romance new. She smiled at them as they rose, holding on to one another and yawning. "It's kind of a project of mine," she finally confessed, suddenly embarrassed about it for some reason. "I'm Acubens, by the way. Of Velociraptors. Nice to meet you!"

"Notes?" Mimi made notes of her own, mostly in school, but was curious to what she was taking notes of out here. She had notes about everything she was learning about her car and all the little plants and what they did in the garden on her balcony. "About what? My apologies if I disturbed your concentration or anything else." She had a pang of guilt - Mimi didn't like it when people broke her train of thought when she was working something, so it had to be similar, right?
Mimi gave Acubens a slight curtsy before looking up and giving her a small smile. "The pleasure's all mine, Miss Acubens. I am Mimistrobell, of Nightshade. I really hope I didn't startle you and whatever you were taking notes of... I can understand the need to not be disturbed." She paused, wondering if she was being too upfront. "If anything, I can help a little to make up for it?"

Miss Acubens? No one had called her Miss Acubens before. At least not in recent memory. It made her smile wider, and wider still with the polite curtsy. Who was this girl? She was so sweet and well-mannered. It made Acubens feel like she should be doing the same thing but... she also didn't want to come off as demeaning so... in the end, she settled for shifting from one foot to the other and nervously scrubbing her hair. At the mention of being disturbed, she only shrugged dismissively, still smiling. "It wasn't a disruption, no big deal. The people didn't notice us -- because that would have been hard to explain -- and the wraith didn't care so no harm no foul. As for startling me well. That's not hard, so don't feel bad." And then the question about her notes. Acubens began to chuckle nervously and held the notebook out to her new companion. "It's nothing exciting, really. I just... I dunno. It's a project I'm working on like I said. I'm just collecting as much information about us as I can and then... somehow... I'm gonna distribute it. Somehow." To be honest, Acubens hadn't thought that far in advance. Mirrorspace had struck her as an option, but the only stagnant place was the Throne Room and that didn't seem very practical. "Just to make all the nitty gritty about us easy for new senshi to access. So far, all I have is wraith stuff so you might know most if not all of what I have so far."

"Oh! You're studying wraiths?" Mimi had gotten used to using her first one when she was still a basic Senshi. She had two now, which was nice. IT definitely helped quicken her pace gathering energy as she made her way to where they were now. "I was using them as I came here. I've been... trying to catch up with energy gathering..."
Mimi felt bad and unsure of if she should have mentioned that she was behind. Life was just busy.
When Acubens held out the notebook, Mimi took it carefully. She couldn't help but be a bit curious. The only things she knew was from what she had physically tried with them; she had never actually tried studying them. "Hm..." She flipped to the page that Acubens had just been working on. "Makes sense. Looks like you were draining how I usually do. I guess the 'nice' way if it." Mimi laughed just a bit. It still felt like stealing sometimes.
"I know we're entrusted with more shards as we increase in power... But does anything different happen if a basic Senshi tried summoning more than one at once? Say... Three?" Mimi had never really thought about it before that, but the idea seemed interesting. Maybe Acubens would know or have more experience with it all. "Would it just run rampant or not even appear?"

The excitement from the other senshi did a great deal to soothe Acubens' nerves about her obvious nerdiness. It was nice, since in her mind Acubens had concocted all kinds of terrible scenarios wherein other senshi mocked her and pushed her into the sandbox when they found out what she was doing. So as Mimistrobell read her findings thus far with interest, Acubens couldn't stop her heart from swelling. "Not just wraiths. I'm studying... well... us. There's so much no one knows. There are so few left from Ares' first brood... really just Leto. So... I'm finding out everything that I can about us, our tools, our goals, and our methods. Eventually I want to publish it to everyone in the court but... I haven't figured that out yet." I was a little embarrassing to admit, and Acubens really hadn't admitted it to herself until now. Maybe she'd been planning on crossing that bridge when she got to it? Maybe not though. Maybe she had expected to get embarrassed and keep her work to herself... Yeah, that was the more likely option. The vision of the other Dark Mirror Senshi shoving her into a locket and taking her lunch money scared her enough even in the land of hypothetical overreactions. The idea of putting it out there... though if people were half as interested as Mimistrobell. That might be alright. The question made her pause. "I... I don't know." She paused for a long moment, her bro furrowing in thought. It had, honestly, never occurred to her. Having corrupted as an eternal, she never had to "level up" as it were. She honestly didn't even know that other ranks were not allowed to have three. Wait so Basic Senshi only had one? If they got more shards as they grew, did that mean that Mimistrobell had two? "I mean we might as well try it out, right?" She produced a third mirror shard for Mimistrobell from the folds of her fuku and passed it to her. "Give it a shot."

"That's pretty neat." Mimi had never thought about doing research on herself or others of the DMC. She realized she kind of followed it blindly like religion when she still believed in it. Main reason why she stopped was because she had powered up to become a Senshi. How could someone still believe in one greater being when there were all these powered people out there? "I've never really thought much about it."
She guessed, in theory, it would be a good thing to have. "Wouldn't it just be easier kind of finding someone that's good with coding and online privacy and making some sort of private website?" Mimi wasn't all that technologically savvy, so it was an idea, at the least. Mirrorspace was something they had, but it wasn't somewhere Mimi used a lot minus traveling from one point to another.
Mimi was a bit flustered when she was offered the third shard. She knew eventually she would get another once she reached her third stage. "Well, worth a try I guess?" She pulled out her other two and summoned two of the wraiths easily. Mimi carefully took the one from Acubens and laid it on the palm of her hand not holding the other two. She tried and focused her energy on it, to will out the other wraith, but nothing happened.
"So... I guess that's a no?" She laughed. "I'm not entirely sure why it is, but I definitely can't seem to summon a third."

"Damn," Acubens sighed, visibly let down that there was no reaction to the shard. "I guess that's better than like, exploding though," she then mused, taking her shard back and tucking it into her fuku. "Honestly, now that I think about it I didn't have a plan for if that triggered something horrible... so maybe it's a good thing nothing happened." Before she forgot what happened, Acubens made a note of their experiment in her composition book, as well as what she had learned about mirror shard progression. And here she had thought that tonight would just be observing things that she already knew about. Here she'd learned two new things in like five minutes. "I had thought about that," Acubens admitted as she tucked her journal back away, "but I'm honestly terrified that, in the age of Anonymous and cyber warfare that someone who means us harm will find the information and use it against us." There had to be another way... maybe inside of mirrorspace? Remarque seemed to think that it held all the answers... or at least a good portion of them. Maybe a library or something... or even setting something up in the throne room or something... she'd have to talk with him about it later. "I hadn't thought about it either, honestly, until someone asked me for answers and I had none. I decided that I would never be without answers again, and neither would anyone else in my court. I won't stand for blindness when the answers are available."

Exploding? She definitely had not thought of that before which caused her to shiver just a bit. What if things had gone wrong and she died or something? Maybe Mimi needed to think things through better before actually trying it. Oh well. There was no harm done and she'd live another day.
"Good point." Mimi couldn't help but wonder if they could corrupt someone like those crazy online hackers that could help them. It honestly seemed like a good idea, at least for a time. Those people could always switch sides and end up screwing them over. "I haven't really explored mirrorspace all that well. Have you done some research on that too?" It seemed like something Mimi would actually read for pleasure.
Mimi smiled at Acubens. "Well, I'm glad someone can give answers if they need them. Now I can direct people to someone if they have questions I can't answer." Which, seemed to feel like more often than not she didn't have answers.Sweenys_Revenge (( Should we end this soon or did you want Mimi to do more :"D ? ))

ATh e a r t We can end it here if you want, and have another RP where Mimi and Acubens do some experimenting. "A little bit... here and there. I know enough, I guess. But I also know that there are others with my information on mirrorspace and I do, I plan on interviewing them for my little library too. I mean, why reinvent the wheel, right?" Was that a cop out? It felt like a cop out. But research sometimes meant using established understandings to support your own findings, right? And she had the events from the battle at the park and the mission within the labyrinth recorded as well... plus her own research... so it didn't count as theft, right? Especially if she credited Mintaka and the rest... right? Oh, well... that certainly was some responsibility. Acubens blinked a few times before she recovered with a smile. Why should she be the only one with the answers? It wouldn't be fair for her to hog the spotlight... and wasn't the purpose of what she was doing to disseminate information? Why not start now? "Well... I mean... or you could tell them. We could learn together. I mean why not, right? Why should I be the only one with the information?" In fact... it was rather dangerous for one person to own all the information, wasn't it? That was one of her main issues with the White Moon, how closed-fisted they were with what they knew. She wanted the Dark Mirror Court to be different. Maybe it started here, with Mimistrobel. "We could look together. So that when people ask you, you can answer. It'll be a two-way street, because the person will get answers, and you will feel more empowered within the court, see? I mean... if you want to work with me, that is."

"We definitely could. I have no issues with that." She smiled at Acubens, feeling slightly inspired by the eternal senshi's desire for knowledge."I can't say I'll be around all the time, but you can always contact me through the mirror compacts!"
Mimi looked in the direction of home. It would be time to leave soon so she could get more work done. "Maybe we can explore a bit of mirrorspace together as well?" She knew it was quicker to travel that way, and she had for direct traveling, but not exploring. "I've always been a bit intimidated by it minus direct mirror to mirror walking. Kind of dumb, huh?"
"I'm going to head home to do notes of a different sort." Mimi curtsied again."It really was a pleasure to meet you tonight, and I look forward to learning more from you and with you." She took out her compact and waved it. "Don't forget to contact me when you're free!"
She then started walking in the direction of the closest mirror she had placed, hoping that she still had enough time to work on her garden before bed. "Take care!" Mimi called out and waved before disappearing into the night.Sweenys_Revenge (( Okay gotcha! Last post for me, I think! ))

She wanted to work with Acubens. Mimistrobel was willing to come back and find out all that she could about their court. Acubens wasn't really certain what she expected, but she was excited all the same. She had to get home too, but not for homework. She had to plan. Acubens had to find out what they were going to do next time they met up so that she could keep Mimistrobel interested. Mirrorspace had been what she wanted. Maybe they could look for a library for the information where they could store the information they were gathering. Or map things out to try and find some pattern. Or even just wander aimlessly to see what happened. Possibilities swirled around Acubens' head so fast that she nearly forgot to say good bye herself. "Good luck with your notes," she finally called, waving wildly as she did so. Learning from and with her. Did that make her like... a teacher? It made Acubens pause in her waving. Wow... someone was counting on her? Even a little bit? That was... well it was certainly different. It made Acubens smile as she found her own mirror and slipepd through it.
