It was a whole new experience, powering up like this. As a Knight.

Michel knew he had been a Negaverse agent, but he didn’t entirely remember everything that it had entailed. He’d left some notes for himself, but mostly Lysithea had filled in the pieces. Still, powering up felt odd; it was a rush of power and a duty he didn’t quite understand.

He didn’t know what his motivations were for powering up in the Negaverse but they couldn’t have been that good considering he left them.

He had considered not powering up again, but there was this strange, unnatural draw.

He’d never had the best self restraint, so when Cambria had curled up with Evan and they’d fallen asleep earlier, he snuck out. It wasn’t the most honest thing he could have done, but if he’d told her she’d probably have wanted to come with him, and considering they couldn’t leave Evan alone it was sneak out or make Cambria worry.

This wasn’t going to be for long, anyway. Michel just wanted an hour to try and sort through who this other side of himself was supposed to be.

The intent was just to walk around the park for a bit, get some fresh air, test things out. He supposed within the Negaverse there were rules and expectations—now? Now, he didn’t have a damn idea what he was supposed to do, and he didn’t know where to start. There was a faint tingle in the back of his mind, like the sensation of being watched. Sometimes it felt louder, sometimes it was a soft whisper. Sometimes he felt more than one.

Now, it was just one. It seemed to grow stronger when he walked in a certain direction and he found himself drawn towards it, even if he didn’t quite understand it. The logical part of him told him to just go home and be satisfied with the fresh air he’d gotten.

The curious part of him ignored it and kept going.
