The park was quiet, although that wasn't that surprising given the hour.

Because it was late afternoon - was late enough in fact for it to be verging on early evening..

And Sadalsuud was out and about.

The park had seemed as good a place to head to as any other, because she had had no real destination in mind but Sadalsuud was considering moving on, was considering mayhaps following the road up back in the direction of the row of shops that she had passed earlier…

She tucked her hands into her arms, a part of her wishing that her outfit came with gloves as she skirted around the playground area and continued to follow the path winding its way through the park through a set of trees.

Yes she would head back she decided, as she half turned in the intention of starting to head back in the direction that she had come from-

And who knew perhaps there was a chance that she would run into a fellow senshi of the Court - which would be great - because Sadalsuud was always up for meeting fellow court members

Quote:
Chara was more than eager to find something to fight this evening. It seemed like his temper, which was already quick to rage, was on an even shorter fuse than normal. He was angry and for once, he had a reason as to exactly why. <******** Ptolemaeus. That dirty, low down, scuzzbucket of a senshi had taken his heart, his very fragile and firebomb of a heart, and ran it into the dirt. He REALLY should have known that wouldn’t have gone well if only by the fact that he was Chaos, and even if he WAS Dark Mirror Court, he was just as evil as the rest of them, no matter how kind his words or how gentle his touches. He should have known. Chara should have KNOWN.

With such a deplorable taste for Dark Mirror Senshi in his mouth after having loved him, added to the pitiful actions of Sailor Juliet, the young Senshi had made a decision, one that he wasn’t going to back down on. He was going to kill any member of chaos he came across, no matter how weak they were. They were there, they were doing things that they should KNOW was wrong, and there was no way in hell he was going to let them hurt someone again. Hurt HIM again.

The instant that he felt the aura of someone chaotic, he clenched his teeth, summoning his attack quickly to his hand. The other was close, so close, he could just FEEL it. It took only a few more seconds of bounding and leaping across the empty park area for him to find the target he was looking for, and with a wicked grin, he hurled the chocolates in his hand towards the unwitting victim, following up quick behind it with a curled up fist aiming for her gut.

Chara Magic Attack
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Chara Chocolate Lava Drops

With the call of his attack Chara summons the same handfuls of chocolate as before but in larger quantity (20 or so), and now they melt upon impact. He still has 30 seconds to use them before they vanish and it can be used twice per battle.

Chara's chocolate now maintains it's heat longer and sticks to a person's skin. It's hot and burns and can cause irritation, dryness and up to 1st degree burns now if it makes skin contact. The chocolate lasts for 5 seconds on the surface they touch, then vanish.

Sadalsuud was not looking for something to fight this evening - well okay make that ever - because whilst she wanted to help the Prince and Court, she didn’t want to do so by fighting.

It was something that she had admitted to Juliet, when the two of them had crossed paths on an evening patrol, along with the fact that nothing had happened to her during her evenings out on patrol.

In patrols tended to usually be nightly wanderings and generally involved sneaking out from home-

And sometimes it involved using her mirror wraith to collect energy for the Court.

Sadalsuud was considering maybe picking up some biscuits or something for the nights where she collected energy - a part of her thinking that she could mayhaps leave it in exchange as a kind of thank you.

In fact her mind was on this as she started walking back the way she came and not on the approaching danger - not that she recognised that danger was approaching.

Then again why would she when, up until now her evenings out had been largely uneventful…

Something hit her - well make that several somethings - several hot somethings that was hot enough to burn through her gauzy overlay and strike her shoulders.

Sadalsuud shrieked in pain, a shriek that was suddenly cut off in a whoosh of exhaled breath-

By virtue of the curled fist of a figure that landed a solid hit on her middle.

Quote:
For as angry as he was, Chara still had a set of morals, and a tinge of guilt hit him as his fist came into contact with the girl’s midriff as easily as it was to hit Juliet. It was quickly snuffed out of his mind when the image of Ptolemy’s grin came to the forefront and he scowled again, digging his fist deeper into her gut.

Without words spoken, he wound up his fist to hit her in the face this time. Juliet begged him before not to hit anywhere that ‘showed’ so she could hide it from her parents. <******** that! He would hurt this chaos scum, and leave a nice bold mark to ensure people knew what sort of monster she was!

Quote:
Monster - the term was an interesting one - because from where Sadalsuud was standing the figure was pretty monstrous…

Well okay scary - very scary.

And as hands reached up in an almost futile attempt to protect herself, her frantic thoughts was not on being special as Miss Kitten had told her, or of magic.

No - it was simply to get away.

But pain dulling her reaction times, or what there was of it, and what there was of it wasn’t much - because Sadalsuud wasn’t a fighter.

There was more pain, the pain a white hot, horrible splintering thing as the other’s fist made contact with her face and whilst Sadalsuud half pushed out in desperate flail, it was an attempt that probably wasn’t really much of anything.

She flailed again, the gesture even more desperate as she tried to stumble backwards, her green eyes wide with fear.

Quote:
One fist collided with her cheek, and Chara found it satisfying. Everyone would know what she was. He would mark up her face as badly as he could, and maybe, JUST maybe this dumb a** senshi would be too afraid to power up.

Chara was violent, there was no denying that, and he more than enjoyed a good scrap, but he did his best to convince himself that what he was doing was for the best. Not just for the people he wanted to protect, but for the senshi too. She could stay safe if she just stayed powered down and stayed normal. Until she did, well, Chara wouldn’t relent.

Another fist was balled up and aimed for her other cheek, doing his best not to let her escape.

Quote:
Sadalsuud kept trying to scramble backwards but the other followed, and he was faster, so much faster than her - even with adrenaline bolstering her fully into try-to-get-away mode - aka flight mode.

The second fist hit her flailed left arm, the jarring impact enough to cause to loose her breath in a cross between a hiss and a whimper as her right hand instinctively came up in an attempt to try to cradle the arm.

And a part of her knew she had to run - was trying to run - because if she could just reach a mirror then perhaps she could escape.

But the nearest mirror was a while away yet, the three streets down from the park suddenly seeming almost endlessly far.

"Why?" Green eyes shimmered with tears as the word came out on half sob, even as she continued to stumble back. "Why?!"

Quote:
Chara growled low when his hit missed, instead hitting her arm with all the force he had in his little body. It threw him off balance and he stumbled forward, which only angered him further.

“Get the ******** back here!” His voice remained threatening as he chased after her, racing forward. Her speed couldn’t match his, not at the difference in power between them. When he did catch up with her, he grabbed her hard by the back her fuku and yanked her off her feet again.

“Because you DARED to even power up! You go around stealing energy from people like it’s your goddamned right! No more! I’ll ******** you up so bad that you won’t DARE try to do it again!”

Quote:
Sadalsuud heard the other yelling at her to come back, his words ladened with profanity–

She tried to move faster, to scramble away faster - because he looked so angry and she didn't know why. She did know however that she didn't want him to keep hitting her - knew that she didn't want him to keep hurting her…

But whilst Sadalsuud was doing her best there was just no way to outrun him - because he was so much faster.

Her backwards scramble came to a jerking stumbling halt as he grabbed the trailing ends of her overlay and janked backwards, causing her to lose her footing.

Adrenaline-laced fear had her trying to struggle as the other started screaming at her again, because she had to run - she had to…

There was was the sound of something ripping, the sound unusually loud in Sadalsuud's panicked stated and following up on it was the sound of a second voice. This one cold - so much colder than the other's yells.

Quote:
Arian hadn't been planning to power up, not really, but the park made for a convenient shortcut to a bookstore that he was planning to check out because it had a snap sale on and he wanted to see if they had any jewellery-making books on offer…

He had stopped to pick up a hot chocolate and was running late and the park made for a shortcut with pleasant surroundings–

The sound of voices from somewhere nearby had him frowning, because one sounded angry and the other…

The other quite frankly sounded terrified.

And so he had carefully set down his hot chocolate before doing his best to quietly slip through the trees, because he wanted a bit of cover before he transformed into Athene.
But as it happened he was closer than he thought, because as he slipped into the cover of the trees he saw them.

He recognised the boy as the super senshi that had helped his friend Gigi and he was betting that the small dark-haired girl was another senshi.

And..

And this was wrong - because the girl was clearly terrified and because the little he was seeing was far too much.

Neither of the two seemed to notice as he spoke his henshin - although Arian had moved further back into the trees just in case - and it was as Athene that he stepped out, calling on his magic as he moved closer towards the pair.

"Blue Beads of Nazar - intensated!"

And whilst Athene wasn't sure if the magic would take - It was towards Chara that he directed the beads, the expression on his face as cold as the voice that had spoken the words.

Because this - this - wasn't right…

And whilst Athene was truly grateful for the help that Chara had given Gigi, had given Subamara, because she was one of his best friends - he wasn’t going to let that gratitude have him turn a blind eye to what was happening in front of him.

Athene's magic attack
Blue beads of Nazar – intenstated:

Athene’s super level attack takes the form of a ‘ball of beads’ that can trap a target with ill will towards either Athene or one of his allies in a barrier of beads if it connects. (Ill will means that the target wishes to cause some form of harm to either Athene or his ally). Target can still jump, block, or strike with their weapon - but they cannot leave the ring of beads. Beads can be smashed by someone outside the barrier, smashing half (24 to 30) will bring down the barrier.
Duration: About thirty seconds (or 2 posts).

Quote:
In his blind fury against the girl trying to escape, the feeling of the stronger senshi passed by him, his attention solely focused on his target rather than on anything else around them. His grip was tight on her overlay, tight enough so that when she tugged, the sheer fabric tore off easily enough. Chara angrily threw it aside and began to summon his attack to his hand again, refusing to give up.

Yet before he could go further he found himself surrounded by magic - and one that was familiar at that.

“Let me GO Athene!” He snarled, throwing a fist hard against the barrier that kept him from getting closer to the Dark Mirror Senshi. What right did the older man think he had to stop him now! He was so CLOSE! He could just feel the regret the other had for even powering up tonight. If he could get her to become terrified that this would happen again, then she wouldn’t do it anymore! Those people she preyed on wouldn’t be targets for her and her sick ways of stealing what didn’t belong to her. It wasn’t as if the Dark Mirror Court even DID anything about it! They just existed, not choosing a side, and they were cowards as far as he had been able to see!

“Let me go and ******** off!”

Quote:
The sound of ripping had been her clover-strewn overlay and it had been enough to free her from the other’s grip as she tumbled backwards.

But he was still so very close and even as Sadalsuud tried to awkwardly scramble to her feet, her shoulders were hunched as in anticipation of another blow…

Although after a few moments green eyes turned to look warily in the yelling boy's direction, because the anticipated blow didn't hit…

Only to see white and jade standing between her and the boy with the eye patch who appeared to be surrounded in beads?!

Quote:
A part of Athene hadn't expected his magic to actually work on Chara, because his magic was temperamental and had a mind of its own, but he had hoped that it would at least act as a distraction.

But the magic had worked, the beads snapping into place around the younger senshi and allowing him to get between the Super senshi and the dark mirror senshi - because powered he could tell she was a dark mirror senshi.

"No I won't let you go" he said, in a voice that was - at least for him - unusually cold. "I'm going to let my magic run its course. A part of me can't help but wonder what the hell you were thinking Chara - because from where I was standing, it looked to me as if you were trying to kill this girl."

Unbeknownst to Chara it struck parallels with the last time Athene had stepped in to intervene against someone on his own side attacking a member of chaos. He and Thraen had ended up breaking what might in time have blossomed into a friendship over it…

And whilst the two of them were on civil terms now, the two of them had never managed to regain what had been lost.

"But I am quite happy to leave - although I'll be taking this senshi along with me."

Because whilst his magic would keep Chara trapped in place, Athene knew that it wouldn't actually cause the other any damage - and he also knew that Chara would be able to still defend himself whilst within the circle of beads…

And perhaps it would do the Super senshi a bit of good to be trapped in place for a bit - although Athene wasn't about to hold his breath on that one.

Quote:
“And me killing her is a problem why?!” Of course, Chara had no intention at all to kill her, just to beat her senseless and make her think twice about powering up. He couldn’t seem to wrap his head around WHY Athene had stopped him, and a dangerously low growl escaped his throat. The older senshi wasn’t a friend, but he WAS an ally, so why would he even protect such lowly trash as that?!

“The ******** you will!” With as much force as he could muster, he tried to break the beads in front of him, to no avail, and that’s when he remembered the attack on the cafe, and how the creature was trapped there until all the beads shattered and faded.

“What’s you ******** damage, Athene! Why are you trying to protect this little s**t from anything! She’s the enemy and she’s stealing what doesn’t belong to her! She’ll never learn if she doesn’t get her a** kicked! What, so are you just okay with this a*****e going around stealing people’s energy? What kinda senshi are you?!”

Quote:
"Well for a start you are pretty much borrowing from the Negaverse playbook" Athene said as he watched Chara trying to break the beads keeping him trapped.

"And given that we're supposed to stand against the Negaverse, I'm pretty sure that descending to their tactics is not supposed to be our purpose."

He gave Chara a look that was as cold as his voice at the mention of energy stealing, although he refused to move from his position in front of the dark mirror senshi "Actually I loathe energy stealing and I am fully aware that the both the Negaverse and Dark Mirror Court steal energy. Although–" And for a moment he gestured around him "I also know that the Dark Mirror senshi use wraiths to steal energy - although there doesn't appear to be any in the vicinity..."

Athene let his voice tail off on the implication, before continuing "But whether there was a wraith or not I happen to have real issues with people trying to kill other people on my watch no matter what side they're on."

He added "And so either I leave with the Dark Mirror senshi or once my magic ends then you and I can fight..."

And whilst he didn't want to fight Chara, he would do so if he had to - because if the other wanted to continue attacking the dark mirror senshi behind him then he was going to have to go through Athene first.

Quote:
Whilst Sadalsuud didn't know much about auras - she did know that the dark-haired newcomer was strong - because she could feel it.

And it terrified her because the one that seemed to be trapped in the beads and who had been attacking her was strong too, but the dark-haired man in front of her seemed so much stronger.

And a part of her wanted to resume trying to run away and perhaps she would have if not for the fact that for whatever the reason the dark-haired man seemed to be trying to defend her.

Quote:
Though Chara wasn’t going to outright say he, he honestly didn’t have that much information the the Dark Mirror Court. He never really bothered to ask anyone or thought much of it, since his mind just automatically equated being Chaotic to being evil. And after Ptolemaeus and his odd displays of affection and then threats of corruption he had no patience at all for anyone, not even sniveling little whelps like the girl before him.

And to be fairly honest, he didn’t want to kill anyone, but still refused to let up. Stubborn as all hell seemed to define Chara, and his attitude often seemed reminiscent of a mad dog than a properly trained Senshi.

A twitch formed in his one good eye as Athene compared him to the Negaverse, and whilst that might have calmed down a normal senshi to reflect on their actions, it only served to stir up his rage more.

“What the actual flying ******** do you think she was out here doing then, Athene? Do you really think she was just out here going about to shake hands and play with daisies all night long? It’s for her own good that she gets her a** kicked, maybe she’d go back to being a NORMAL person and leave people alone!” Another punch was given to the beads, to no avail, and he let out a frustrated growl. For a moment, he considered it, fighting Athene if only because he was being told no, to knock some sense into that stupid peaceful senshi’s head that this is a war and not a time to be going around and holding the enemy’s hand.

Then, he saw Subamara standing next to him, and he could just imagine the disappointed and hurt expression she would have if he had fought her friend. That, and knowing deep down that it made no sense at all to fight another one of his own, especially one so much stronger than he was, started to deflate his rage quickly. His snarling expression fell to one that was just scowling and glaring hatefully at the girl who was helplessly sitting on the ground and he watched her for a moment before rolling his eyes, and looking back at Athene.

“The only reason I won’t fight you is because of Subamara.” He said plainly, showing no love at all towards the older senshi. “Go ahead then, take the Chaos ******** and leave. I swear though…” Chara turned back hatefully towards the whimpering girl. “Next time I see you, there won’t be a chance in hell for someone to save you. You’re dead.”

Quote:
A single amber-coloured eye glared at him and Athene found himself wondering if he was going to have to fight Chara after all once his magic faded away - and whilst Athene wasn’t sure for how long it would continue to hold the Super, he didn’t think it would hold for that much longer–

Because already the beads were starting to glow.

Athene really, really didn’t want to end up fighting Chara though - because he would have to tell Subamara if he did because it wasn’t the sort of thing that he would keep from his friend and then he would have to tell her why...

But then the other senshi rolled his eye at the senshi behind him before turning to look at him and it seemed that he wouldn’t have to fight Chara after all.

All of the beads were glowing now, the glow bright but brief as they shattered releasing the super from their trap.

Athene reached a hand down to the Dark Mirror senshi "Let's go" he said quietly, a part of him trusting Chara to keep his word before adding softly when she stared at him "I don’t really think you want to stay here..."

Quote:
Green eyes stared at the offered hand for a long moment, but the dark-haired man’s final words seemed to decide her as she reached out to warily take it - because whilst Sadalsuud wasn’t sure that she trusted the man with the white wings - he had at least helped her–

And there was also the fact that he was right - because she didn’t want to stay here with the other - especially given his final threat…

Instead she let the dark-haired man help her to her feet - and when he started walking Sadalsuud followed after and didn’t look back.

Quote:
Despite his promise to not attack the girl further, it didn’t mean Chara stopped thinking about it. How badly he wanted to snake his hands about her throat, to squeeze it just hard enough so that she stopped breathing for just a short while. She’d be scared then, for sure, even more so than she was now. And maybe, juuuust maybe she’d never power up again.

It wasn’t an act of PURE hatred and aggression if Chara thought about it hard enough. The girl was probably just another stupid kid, just like he was, but this one was a person who took from others. Took what very much didn’t belong to her.

Part of him wanted to spit at her, to call her more hateful and insulting names to just discourage her more, but like hell if he felt like being scolded by Athene. Hopefully he would keep his ******** mouth shut and not tell Subamara this. The sisterly like senshi had been through enough recently and certainly didn’t need Chara worrying her more now too.

So he let them go, glaring at them until they vanished from sight, then turned on his heel to find his next target. The night was still young and it would be foolish to think that all of the chaos folk decided to flee on home.
