Name: Hartley Deere

Nicknames: Hart

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Birthday: April 12th

Sign: Aries

School: DCU

Fav. Food: Eggplant parm

Hated Food: Anything with meat in it.

Hobbies:

  • Theatre -- Hartley has been into acting and musical theatre since he was very young. His parents put him a few plays as a kid since his mother worked at one of the local community theatres and they’d occasionally need a kid for a play. He always enjoyed it and kept at it. Now that he is in college he is majoring in Theatre and works in various shows at the community theatre when he’s got time between classes. He prefers musical theater to standard acting but he does both just for the experience.

  • Foodie -- Since Hartley has a specific diet he loves trying new food to see what’s out there and available. He’s gone to every vegetarian and vegan restaurant in town and keeps up with new trends in the two diets on social media. He pas a pintrest full of recipes and he enjoys cooking them for himself and for friends. And as long as something fits into his diet he’s willing to try anything once.

  • Cooking -- Because vegetarian and vegan food tends to be expensive, even more so when you eat out, Hartley’s gotten pretty good at cooking. He likes making new dishes, looking up new dishes, and tweaking recipes into something he can eat if they’ve got ingredients he doesn’t like. He also likes improving recipes he finds if he thinks he can make it with a different ingredient that would taste better.

Virtues:

  • "Nice to Meet You Too" Friendly -- Hartley has always been overly friendly and has no problem making friends. He’s nice to everyone around him and thanks to spending most of his life in theatre or music classes he’s never been sort on social interaction. He’s sweet and kind and always has smile for his friends and will do whatever he can for them when they need him.

  • "This is How We’re Gonna do It" Planner -- Knowing something needs to get done and knowing how it’s going to get done are two different things. Hart would rather make sure everyone knows how rather than just the why. He prefers to plan things out but can come up with a plan on the fly pretty damn well too. He’s good at looking at a situation and being able to get together a plan of action without much effort.

  • "Whatever Man" Open Minded --. Hartey’s parents are hippies, in every sense of the word. While that can be a little weird growing up it did mean that Hartley wasn’t ever really taught any of the more negative ways of thinking. His parents brought him up to listen to every side of a story and then pick for himself what he agrees with. This makes him more open to new things than most and he prefers it that way.

Flaws:

  • "Too Much, Too Soon" Easily Stressed -- Despite his usual upbeat self Hartley can get stressed out really easily. Too much going on at once or too many new things tend to make him freak out and it takes a while to get himself to come back down. It sadly doesn’t take much to overwhelm him either even though he looks like the sort who’d be laid back and always happy.

  • "You have a what to sell?" Overly Trusting -- Hartley has a hard time seeing the bad in people and will often trust what he’s told if it sounds alright enough. This means he falls for tricks easily and has a tendency to believe things he’s told that he really shouldn’t. It’s gotten him into trouble a few times when he’s gone along with someone a ‘friend’ told him was okay when it wasn’t.

  • "Not That One" Picky -- Due to his parents weird ways and his constricted diet Hartley's become pretty picky about everything. He tends to be overly picky about food but tends to be the same elsewhere too. Things have to be exactly what he wants or they just wont due, substitutes are never the same and if he has to settle for them he'll complain about it for eternity.

Tidbits:
  • Vetarian -- Not technically by choice but his parents are strict vegans and he was raised that way. He changed to vegetarian when he got older and moved out since he does enjoy dairy. The only reason he hasn’t changed completely is because his body just does not like digesting meat and he’s not willing to go through all problems trying to make it. So he misses out but he makes it work

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Orangish-Pink, round

Hair: White, usually cut short and messy. Very fluffy

Body: Hartley is ‘small’. He never got really tall and he was never able to put on muscle. Most people think he’s a lot younger than he is.

Fashion: Hartley has no fashion sense but he does like comfortable things and vests. He tends to try to stay with neutrals and one item that’s a pop of color

At Home: Hartley lives in his pj’s at home. The first thing he does when he gets home is put on something comfy he can sleep in.

Hi Grym~

Congrats on Erato~!

Before I can stamp him there's a few minor tweaks that I'd like to offer you.

Looking at his Basic and Super attacks his times are really low and under powered for a normal senshi. Both of these attacks could be bumped up to 25 seconds for basic and 35 seconds for super!

Also, for his super attack; we've been asking if players would make any real physical damage optional to players they're playing against; because of this it potentially leaves the opportunity to buff the paper cuts up to slightly deeper cuts than what you have listed for anyone interested in the plot opportunities to give their characters some heavier damage; but, even if the players didn't want to take any real lasting damage, the sensation of being cut by the leaves would then still be present until the attack's timer ran out (when the attack stops, the feeling stops unless players actually wanted the lasting damage).

If you have any questions, need some help, or just want me to drop back by and check the updates quote me and I'll be here!

Altered the times. Wasny sure about them since I haven't done Senshi oowere since the old days XD

For the damage, do I have to explicitly state in the attack the damage can/can't be lasting? Cause usually players seem to do what they want if they don't want their characters hurt (which I think is dumb and shouldn't be optional but whateves).

Yes, like I said we're asking everyone who wants to cause damage to leave it as optional lasting damage. It gives players a chance to choose what they'd like to do and cater a little more towards plotting but they still have to take the sensation of the attack if it's implied, if someone did want lasting damage and if they wanted more serious injuries or little cuts they could take it (I'm a horrible person to my characters, I would be the one to take the more extreme damage in some cases). It's meant to open up plotting a little more, but also hopefully keep players from doing something ooc from the way an attack was written - like you said if it's written as required there are people who ignore it we've also had some issues rise up in meta situations too.

Added a notation in there for that on the one attach that does damage.

I don't really want it optional but I'd it needs it to be stamped
