Heavy metal music could be heard on the other side of the door. Someone was home and probably tone deaf by now.
Who knew if the person inside could even hear anything let alone a door knock.

Noah fidgeted behind Al, nervous. "Do you think he can hear us?" he asked.

"Not yet," Al remarked before straight up kicking the door very loudly.

There was a moment where the music continues before it was turned down. After some shuffling about, the door clicked.
Cracking it open, Melvin looked through the ajar door to stare at them. He was wearing a T-shirt and sweat pants. While his attire was clean as usual, his hair was disheveled in awkward bed-head curls. Despite the room being dark, his eyes were still puffy.
Looking to them both, he frowned. "What do you want?"

"To, um. To apologize for what happened," Noah said, looking rather nervous about it.

Al nodded in agreement with Noah, "and make sure you're okay."
He peered at Melvin, then around him at the darkness. "May we come in?"

He tapped against the door a moment as he regarded both of them before breathing out. "Alright."
Opening the door, he flicked on the lights and let them in before shutting it behind them.
Despite being a larger room than a standard, it lacked all the furnishings one would want to fill a larger space. It had the given furniture and boxes still not unpacked. A desk showed stones still in the middle of being carved with a toolbox glowing with finished stones.
Turning his music low enough to talk, he sat on his bed and gestured. "Only chair I have are kitchen chairs and the desk chair. Or here." He gestured to his unmade bed.
"And I'm not dead."

Noah took the desk chair, after a moment of hesitation, and said a little uncertainly, "I'm glad you're not dead."

Al plopped down on the bed next to Melvin.

Melvin leaned back to rest his back against his pillow and crossed his arms as he regarded the both of them.
"No. I can say the ******** I want. You need to stop taking things so ******** literally."

Al sighed loudly, "Melvin man, I'm sorry."
He turned on the bed to look at him, "I'm worried about you, I'm just not good at handling this kind of thing." He tilted his head in Noah's direction, "He knows."

"I got Lawr's text messages. He explained his shitty prank. You two don't need to explain yourself anyways. I was stupid enough to fall for it like usual."
He adjust the pillow at his back before reaching out for the water at his nightstand.
"You don't have to handle anything. I never asked."

"I'm just, we're just worried, is all." Noah fidgeted, looking embarrassed. He was not that close to Melvin, but he was still concerned.
