Nighttime fell quick, and with it came that daily grind. Patrolling.

To be completely honest, Chara was growing incredibly bored with the whole patrolling gig, wanting to fight more of the actual human(ish) Enemies than the monsters that roamed and plagued the night. Sure, he knew it was technically 'safer' to fight a youma, since they couldn't really think or plot like Humans could. And they couldn't rip a starseed right out of your chest.

And recently, it felt like they were aiming right for him these days. They came in like animals, taunting and teasing him, these Corrupted senshi, and made it as if his attacks did nothing. Now, he wasn't sure if that was the case or not, maybe they just had very good poker faces, but either way, it was not any fun at all fighting these assholes and then realizing that, hey, you might not win this one.

That's not how he felt tonight though. Tonight, he was going to FIND a Negaverse something or another and smash their face into a pavement. There was no trying tonight in his mind. Only doing it and doing it right!

A large, excited, and malicious grin crept onto his face when he finally felt that blip of an aura on his senses. It was nothing like Alkaid's aura, where it felt like a thousand pound weight was on his chest, but it was still strong. Strong enough that he knew it was stronger than him by a considerable amount.

Then again... Chara never was the brightest senshi out there, and charged forward, hoping to find whoever this person was to bring them down!

Chrysocolla had no daily grind. Not the way people with lives did, not really; her life was intertwined with the Negaverse, and so she got away with more than most when it came to failures of her civilian life. She went to school, she did her homework; and every other day (every day on weekends, really) she took her henshin pen in hand and covered herself in glamour and glitter.

Nowadays she felt like her short hair, as a civilian, was wrong. But that was life. Perhaps it always would feel wrong; she would never be able to grow it out to its' powered length, not naturally.

That was alright. She felt more at home in this skin than any other. What she had was strength, and agility, and magic -- and it suited.

Chrysocolla felt the aura coming; and she lounged on the bench where she sat, unbothered, not a care in the world. Her hair was purposefully draped across her shoulders, long seafoam curls; one ankle crossed over the other, her hands in her lap.

He'd come at her fists-first, like they always did, and then she would play.

As Chara drew closer and closer to the intended target, something seemed to worry him a bit about it The Aura wasn't moving, neither away nor closer to him, just sorta remaining the same distance away with him steadily getting closer.

Now, Chara wasn't the smartest cookie in the jar but even he could tell when something was likely to be a trap of some sort, so in preparation, he muttered his attack name to himself, summoning those blistering chocolate drops to his hand to use as soon as he saw the person or thing.

And yes, they felt strong, almost scarily so, but he truly didn't care, even if he got one hit in and got one person to be miserable, given that power level, he would be pleased with himself for the night.

Upon seeing her, without a word he launched only about half of his attack at the woman's sitting form, hoping that he managed a panicked scream from her, in the very least.

Daekie
Chara Chocolate Lava Drops: With the call of his attack Chara summons the same handfuls of chocolate as before but in larger quantity (20 or so), and now they melt upon impact. He still has 30 seconds to use them before they vanish and it can be used twice per battle.

Chara's chocolate now maintains it's heat longer and sticks to a person's skin. It's hot and burns and can cause irritation, dryness and up to 1st degree burns now if it makes skin contact. The chocolate lasts for 5 seconds on the surface they touch, then vanish.

Chara coming closer was exactly what Chrysocolla wanted -- as a Super, too, she'd been expecting him to throw magic first, especially when he came into view. She was hardly tall by any means -- or muscular, or big, or anything like that -- but still, somehow Chara managed to lack any intimidation factor in her eye. Like a poor little maimed puppy, really, trying to act all ferocious on three legs.

As soon as his hand drew back to throw, the position she held in her head crystallized; and she teleported behind him, swiftly, putting one hand on his throwing wrist to hold it in place. And Chrysocolla tsked, a gentle, disappointed noise.

"You're too young to be out like this. Don't your parents know?"

Given the fact she was gripping his wrist tight enough to bruise, given the fact she barely looked too much older than he was; it was uncomfortable, to say the least.

As often as Chara like to talk s**t, for once he didn't dignify the woman with his own smartass remark, and instead fought to escape. He used all the power he had in his feet to bring his heeled boot down against the woman's calf, attempting to push it into a split of a position and throwing all of his weight downwards in an attempt to knock her off balance.

In that same movement, he dropped the chocolates he held so tightly into his other hand and tried to throw them back behind him where the corrupt stood and taunted him. ******** it, there was time for taunts and s**t talk later, but right now, he just KNEW he had to escape. Damn did he hate how those ******** could teleport!

"Listen to me," Chrysocolla whispered into his ear, shuddering slightly off-balance when Chara slammed his boot into her calf -- but she was on an energy buzz, really, and the pain didn't hurt so much. Not lately. Especially from a Super. Had they always been this slow? Had she ever been so slow? The chocolates hit her stomach and chest, and they sizzled and sputtered -- but the fabric was tougher than it looked. She'd have some burns on her sternum, maybe. But she didn't seem to care all that much.

She reached up to drape her other arm over his shoulder in some grotesque pretense of an embrace, letting go of his hand and pushing her own hand through his back in one quick movement, deft fingers clutching at the ends of his starseed -- so bright, so fragile. So lovely.

"You never listen. Do you like this? Do you like being hurt?"

It didn't work.

It DIDN'T ******** WORK.

For the third time in a goddamn month he ran into another one of these ******** corrupted monsters, and he just KNEW this wasn't going to end well for him anymore. Chara just couldn't understand it; HOW could they just resist that searing chocolate so easily? Was he truly that weak?

His question was answered as Chrysocolla pulled him closer, then suddenly pain.

Pain so hot and searing that he couldn't even scream, the sound catching in his throat coming out as garbled nonsense. Never before had he felt such pain, such agony in his life, even when his own eye was readily pushing out blood the worse it's infection got. No, this was a whole different type of pain.

Gloved fingers grasped desperately at the arm she held against his chest, tears welling up in the only eye he had left.

Was this truly... Truly how he was going to die?

Chrysocolla draped herself over him, clingy as anything, the way you would treat a best friend - or a sibling - or a lover, maybe. It was hard to tell; her face gave nothing away, and even if he'd wanted to she wasn't in the best position to be scrutinized -- not with one hand caressing his starseed, like it was a child's toy meant to be spun on end.

"Do you want," she asked calmly, "to see mine, too? Try to nod your head if you do." She didn't squeeze his starseed, was the worst part; delicate fingers ran over each facet and end, with the kind of care she would have given a work of art. That's what it was, to her, anyways. Just a work of art that happened to be inside the body of someone so blind.

One squeeze, when he didn't answer in time; chaos flickered from her fingertips into his starseed, nowhere near heavy enough to change him but enough to burn. The worst part was, Chrysocolla hadn't even incanted her magic even once, hadn't felt a need to -- he was so little of a threat to her, the way she saw it, that he couldn't harm her regardless.

Chara was helpless in Chrysocolla's embrace, stuck in a position of perpetual agony as he just felt her hand against that little seed that made him Chara. Just how detailed her touches were wasn't enough for him to discern from the fact that there was a hand in his chest, for all he felt was fear and pain shooting through every cell in his body.

Her question fell on deaf ears but the squeeze and the chaos that he could feel penetrating the poor little seed in his chest was more than enough to have tears falling from his eye and a silent scream to come out as a giant choking gasp. Fingers finally dug deep into her arm, through his own gloves trying to pry himself free, determined and unrelenting in his attempts even thoughout the pain. <********... Off..." Finally, words came from his lips in a heavy gasp of a sound, but nothing that would have been useful in saving his life

Chrysocolla smiled.

Maybe the disobedience in pain was what she'd wanted to hear, after all. She remembered it in dreams -- or thought she did --

"Just kill me, then. I'd rather die than join you."

But that was many years ago. It was all lost to her, anyways, now; just so much smoke. All she could ever place of that night, ever, was Laurelite's hand in her chest and panic filling her lungs because she'd been so young.

Her grasp continued, but the pulses of chaos let up, slowly but surely; with her free hand she delicately untangled his grasping hands, smiling sweet, the picture of politeness like she hadn't just been trying to kill him (and could have, if she'd pulled back, if she pulled her hand back even now). "Don't worry about it. They'll know."

She let go and pushed him to the ground, watching him like an empress on her throne.

Chara was far too distracted by the large lump in his throat caused by that hand shoved into his back to even notice his fingers were being pried loose from the Corrupt's arm. He gagged on it, retching repeatedly he he tried his best to swallow and breath. Spittle came from his mouth, and his body began to shake worse and worse in his feeble attempts to get himself together and not be trapped in her arms for much longer. In the end, he was losing, and he felt himself starting to slump against her grasp as breathing was lost on him, every sound from him being a wet, garbled choke.

Then he was let go, hand withdrawing from his back and instead shoving him to the ground.

There was no shame in the fact that Chara immediately began to cough, taking in deep breaths to try to steady his breathing. Every inch of his body was shaking, both in fear and from pain, but ******** if he was going to give up so easily... But what could he even do?

Pride told him not to run. Hell, he didn't even run when he was fighting against that crazy ******** Alkaid! This was different, though... He wasn't trying to save a life. And it wasn't as if Alkaid had touched his starseed and pumped his chest full of chaos either.

Yeah, he would blame it on that. He'd blame the chaos he could still feel suffocating his starseed on why he cried out in fear and scrambled to his feet. He'd wholeheartedly blame chaos for why he ran as fast as he could away from the corrupted senshi, legs shaking and forcing him to stumble every now and then.

And he would definitely blame chaos for this burning, painful feeling in his chest, caused by both determination and agitation for what had transpired. He'd get stronger. He'd get stronger and who no mercy and he'd ******** KILL that crazyass senshi.

For now, he just inwardly prayed that she wouldn't follow him because he just knew he didn't have the strength to deal with her anymore.

"You're disgusting," Chrysocolla commented offhandedly as she watched him run, "you're pathetic." And he'd run, like a little child, like a scared animal; she could have stolen his starseed, but it would have meant nothing. With a temper like his? If he could corrupt willingly, he'd be a perfect tool. She could imagine him, almost; he'd be like a porcelain doll in those clothes, with the cracks.

(She would have been so proud, to know she'd done something Alkaid hadn't; like she'd surpassed her dream, if only in one tiny way. Hands-on, darling, the only way to learn.)

She watched him go, with a little wave, like they'd just had a polite 'hello-and-goodbye' and been on their separate ways - and as soon as he was far enough away, not quite around the corner, she disappeared into thin air.
