Biography: Jeffry Riften was born on Earth as the scion to the Riften family transport company. Given that he was the only child of business savvy parents, Jeffry would spend most of his early childhood running from his caretaker to go watch the transports come and go from the port. His fascination eventually led to him taking the required classes for him to become a pilot, even though it were against his parents wishes. Though they hadn't found out about his deeds until after he had graduated with top marks in his year.
This led to a falling out with his parents, who wanted him to learn the family business. Instead, in the dead of night, Jeffry made his way down to one of the shipyards and boarded the old freighter, The Defiant. He had it reconditioned as a graduation gift to himself, and had it outfitted with an VI whom Jeffry named Angel. Jeffry had forged fake orders from the company to go out of the system for a delivery to an outlaying settlement. Figuring that his parents wouldn't be able to figure out that he had taken the old freighter, at least in a timely manner, he set course together with Angel, and a full load of "supplies" to the Vynna system. By the time anyone would figure out what had happened, he would have the transponder codes changed to hide the fact that he did indeed take the shuttle.
