One corner of the massive asphodel grassy commons has been appropriated for a dance! Tall pillars strung up with glowing lights and whispy streamer encase the boundaries, with a temporary dance floor placed down. A DJ stands to the side, playing music that beats gently from the many speakers. Charms have been placed around the area, so that the noise doesn't travel too far and disturb the other events, especially the Kirin rituals happening near the middle.
There are tables of goodies and familiars seem to be bouncing around, and between, nightmares and daydreams.
University students and graduated adults are invited to attend!
How to play:
Every day you are allowed to roll for each of your Nightmares/Daydreams to receive a prize! You also can end up with a familiar, if you're lucky. However, you must RP your character receiving their prize, or doing something in the festival when you roll, or you will not receive the trinket/familiar. It's suggested that while you can roll for every Nightmare you have, you only roll for the amount of responses you can handle! You can keep rolls in one post, or in individual posts. Roll a 20-sided die per Nightmare you're including in the ORP! If you roll an even number, you may grab a trinket! If you roll a number ending in 3, 6, or 9 you may grab a familiar instead! If you roll a number ending in 5 you can take a plushie instead. Do not delete posts. You may RP quests! If you lack a Nightmare/Daydream you are allowed to RP an approved quest within this game! If you have more than one quest, you are permitted three quests to play in this game. You are encouraged to create creative situations of your character receiving a prize! Characters may trade prizes! Only take one prize per each roll! As in, if you won a familiar or a plushie, you are not permitted to take a trinket!
How to Earn Points for Prizes:
New to this dance is a system for earning points to compete for one of the grand prizes. As always, the number you roll from your dice is the amount of points you earned that day. Person with the highest point value at the end of each time period will win that character. You can only win one character from this ORP! Unlike in the past where a certain number of your nightmare rolls would count to points, now only ONE nightmare will be designated as point earner. There are also special rules pertaining to earning points.
Before you start earning, you must post the form below. The roll must be separate from your other nightmares you are entering. Point Rolls must be filled in to obtain their points. You cannot reserve multiple posts across days. Those caught reserving multiple posts will be warned. If the behavior continues, they will be penalized points. Rping with your designated point earner may earn you bonus points! Self RP will not be counted/cannot earn bonus points.

This dapper gent is looking for a date to the dance!
More than anything, Lizbet loved dances. The opportunity to dress up, and slip into the role of someone nicer, and greater, than themself... even if it wasn't a LARP, per se, one could put on airs, laugh, dodge questions... and not be considered rude for it. It was the everyman's fantasy, where everyone was important and mattered and got to mingle and eat fancy foods.
And it was wonderful. They had worn the violet satin dress from an earlier LARP, and made themself a simple shawl to wear with it. Draped as it was around their elbows, they felt positively wonderful... and feminine, in a way that only these sorts of events did.
People were only starting to filter in, as it was...and familiars, with them. Even with the rooms as uncrowded as they were, Lizbet still managed to practically trip over a kidden... one who then proceeded to follow.
After some querulous glancing around to make sure nobody was seeking an animal of this description, the young nightmare leaned down with a smile. "You want to tag along, huh? Guess that makes you my escort." They grinned as the kidden baa'ed at them, and started trotting off towards a snack table... where a large leaf of lettuce hanged over the tablecloth, enticingly out of reach.
"I see how it is. Need a hand, then?" the Chimera joked, moving to obligingly offer the green to their apparent new friend.
Nyxelle still really wasn't sure what he was doing here. He hadn't been at the school for very long at all, and other than doing his orientation, this had been the first time he had been out of his dorm since he moved in. All of the lights and music was a little disorientating at first, reminding him a lot of how the Solar Cherub liked to party. It wasn't that bad, he supposed, but it would definitely take a little while for his eyes to adjust, he just hoped it wouldn't make him dizzy. The colors were rather pretty after all and he didn't want his head to ruin the occasion.
The lights were bright and strobing near the dance floor, the music choice, the base vibrating the floor slightly when one was close to the speakers. It was just about perfect for a social butterfly!
Sadly, though, nobody was on the floor yet– though there was one person standing nearby, looking a little stranded. The violet-clad nightmare started moving towards them... then blinked, a little surprised to see the figure in question was such a tiny, and dark, cherub. Their feathers were pointed and hung smoothly against their form– that was the sign of a Lunar cherub, was it not?
This all must be a little loud for them, and maybe bright... but it was always good to broaden one's horizons. "It's a great setup this year, isn't it?" the Chimera said, looking down at the cherub with a smile. They'd stopped at enough of a distance that their counterpart wouldn't, hopefully, have to crane their head up...
...were they a graduate of the Academy, or some similar equivalent Above? Or were they a younger student? Lizbet couldn't tell. Ah, well, polite was still polite, no matter how young they might be.
Nyx wasn't prepared for when someone started talking to him, perhaps because his head had been in a different place, just noting the differences in architecture. He had been mulling these over when he heard the voice and it shocked him out of his thoughts as he glanced over. It took him a long moment or two to consider what the race was of the individual. He had, of course, done a study of the different races before he came to the academy, but looking at pictures and seeing one in the flesh were entirely different. Was this one a Chimera?
"I honestly couldn't say. I've never been to one until now." He stated in reply, trying his best to return the smile. He wasn't anywhere near as friendly as the Solar Cherub usually were, but he had learned how to at least be polite.
He tilted his head for a moment in consideration of the question. He hadn't really thought too hard about it until now, though he wasn't sure why he hadn't. "I came here to observe." He said finally. "Though, I can say I wouldn't object to a dance or two, though this.... kind of music definitely isn't my forte."

Xander hadn't had any intention of joining the Dance. However, all the noise had caused him to come down anyhow since it wasn't likely that he was going to have a quiet night, that and the Dorm Supervisor wasn't going to let him be until he came. He had ventured toward the back of the crowd, his eyes slightly narrowed as he watched. A part of him wondered if he could get away with slipping off and making a mess of the school while the teachers weren't watching, but just as he was about to do so his eyes caught sight of another junior like him. Were they watching him or was it coincidental? He frowned. If he ran off now they were sure to either follow or tell the teachers of the suspicious activity once it was certain that the auditorium had been vandalized.

Sery twirled into the room, requesting that all eyes her. Of course she knew they wouldn't all be. She did however hope that at least some would. It was a party she was here to socialize. She waited for someone to meet her eye, that was invitation enough for her to talk to them she thought.
There weren't many events that Gaius passed up. They were always plentiful with games, and activities galore, not to mention chances to gain more familiar friends to his growing family. With the usual cluster of them with him, in his pockets, hanging on his shoulders, floating around him, trotting at his side, the hallowed was like a moving ecosystem. However... his attempt to investigate the games that were giving away precious familiars was put to a pause, when he noticed one of his little companions had gone wandering off.
It was his sole flitterrat, who had scurried around the ground, weaving about random feet and legs, off to explore on their own. But Gaius trailed after them patiently, curious to see where this little ones attention was being drawn to. By the looks of it, towards a hybrid not too far off, the flitterat dancing around the fluffy hooves Xander sported, before sitting on their haunches to stare up at the giant.
Amused, Gaius approached the other junior nonchalant like, "Looks like my little friend here's chosen to bother you." he mused.
Nyx watched the lights, shielding his eyes for a moment as a dizzy spell washed over him. So, it looked like it was going to take a bit for him to get used to all this, but it was a great opportunity to meet new people and learn about all the races that he had been secluded from.

Lizbet smiled, watching his eyes wander as she had looked around for someplace quieter. There were chairs over there, far from the speakers, and from the doors... and from the tables where the food and familiars were.
"Well, if you'd like somplace where you can take this all in without having to be directly involved, we can sit over there, for a bit. At least until they start playing some music you like better?" she suggested. After all, with such noisy, and heady, music thudding in one's ears on the dance floor, it wouldn't be enjoyable if it was something you didn't like to dance to. At least not as enjoyable.

Missy approached the commons with a grin, although her upper body was hidden behind the towering, five-tiered cake she was carrying. Grunting slightly with the effort, she finally reached the food table and placed her creation down as gently as she could."There! And no tipping over, please,"she requested to the cake. It was impressive, even by her standards - fave tiers, each flavoured like a different candy (bubblegum, musk, chocolate, sherbet and fairy floss). Each tier was iced according to its flavour, and the whole thing was decorated with marzipan 'candy' cascading from the top over the sides. Standing back, she placed her hands on her hips and nodded in satisfaction. Of course, now with that work over she could enjoy the dance itself! She turned around with a smile, her three-layered gown twirling around her as she moved. Her smile faltered slightly when she realised she was surrounded by younger students, however. Would they even feel comfortable with a community college teacher there? Should she avoid the dancefloor? She played idly with her fingers as she debated what to do. Glancing at the table, she noticed a crystal-shaped egg, perhaps misplaced from the trinkets table. With a small smile she picked it up, admiring the way colours danced off the sleek surfaces.

The Cherub gave a brief smile along with a quick nod. He hadn't exactly wanted to leave the dance, but at the same time, it was probably a good idea at least until his head stopped spinning so much. "Ah, thank you." He slicked back some of his hair and followed the Chimera toward the chairs they had spotted. "I did come to learn more about your culture here, however, the music is definitely louder than I assumed it would be." He felt bad for assuming so much. It looked as though he still had a lot to learn about this place and the people that went here.
He felt a slight tickle and blinked when he noticed a watermelon colored flitterrat tugging at his leg. He leaned down, gently picking it up and letting it perch on his shoulder.

"That's definitely the first part of the puzzle," the Chimera said, grinning a little. Dances? Loud. Basically any large public event is going to be crowded, full of noise, speech, occasional yells or whoops, and, of course, thumping, throbbing baselines." They sat down, shifting and turning so they were comfortably oriented towards the smaller individual... and to make sure nobody tried to squeeze too close to either of them later-on.
"There's usually quieter places in these events– but that first is always applicable. People come here to eat, drink, and make merry... which always seems to amount to the same calamitous effect, no matter what the event is. If you remove one, it's usually quieter, but all three seems to result in the same sort of atmosphere, no matter what."
Nyxelle frowned a bit as he considered the advice. He hadn't been totally prepared for such, though he probably should have been considering how the Solar Cherub liked their parties, however, a part of him was expecting them to be just that, not this. Perhaps, he'd reconsider next time he was thinking of attending one of these events then. "I suppose I should find other ways to observe your culture. This kind of party is a bit rowdier than I usually like." He admitted softly. It was a bit of a disappointment as he had wanted to view the Academy in its natural state, but the music was definitely getting to his head.
