Garand rolled his shoulder, shifting the weight of his pack so that it rested more comfortably again, and stared up at the treetops looming above. Carrying supplies for explorations he was used to, and it was no trouble at all out here, even in a different environment. That environment though, this forest, that was something he wasn't sure if he'd ever get used to seeing. The desert had its own charms, but it was hard to compare to this display of color and life.
A tap on his horn and an agreeing squeak brought his attention back around to the greenblood leading them as Pan enthusiastically assured him that they hadn't forgotten a thing. "We've got ours," he translated simply, nodding, and then he swept a glance over the rest of the group. He'd come prepared, but had anyone else packed too light? Had they packed too much? One could be as bad as the other, he knew, and it would be better to tell them as much now before they got too far into the hike.
"Is it always like this here?" He'd meant to wait until they were underway to really start questioning, but the mention of identifying plants was too good to pass up. "All the plants and trees, I mean. Cacti bloom sometimes, but it's not often and it's not for long. What about these?"

Sephos Arbola
Sephos had made sure to pack supplies. For the most part, though, he knew the forest would provide, so he focused on tools. Tools for digging, for storing, for processing, for assessing, a map, a compass, and some poultices... that sort of thing. He ate a fruit on the way to the meeting site, perfectly all right taking his time - he'd never known a clock in his life, and late was just a concept.
Mouth still half full of sweet fruit flesh, he rounded the 'corner' (as much as there were corners in a forest' and saw... a lot of people. And, also, Amonee's question.
Oh. That's what he needed.
"Hey." he greeted, in his usual grumbling monotone, "Didn't bring a tent." Usually, he didn't use one. He knew how to make a shelter, or use ones already available... but it occurred to him that he probably should not have forgotten it. Ready made shelters were nice.
"So, uh, first hike... We're gonna go in the woods. Easy hike to a real nice grove..." Gog that was a lot of people. Sephos began to fall apart a little. "For... for a warm up. Or something."
He was glad when he could close his mouth and move. But then someone asked about plants, and he was kind of the one there who was to talk about them, so...
"Yeah. 's always like this here. Real lush. They don't all bloom at once - some in spring, some in summer, a few in fall... and then they fruit right after. We're kinda... between blooms but it's gonna be leafy up 'til winter. Even then, there's plants that don't let go their leaves n' all." he said. Apparently, talking about plants was an exception.

The designated site for the first meeting was not a far walk from Kerras' hive. Nonetheless, the tealblood arrived on the shoulder of their lusus, hand cupped over their mouth to hide a yawn. They had woken up early for the night's adventure. Their face showed it, but glowed with excitement. They carried with them only a small satchel, a walking stick, and hand harp, the latter of which they wore slung over their back. The rest of their supplies, including a rolled up tent and sopor bag were in the hands (or hand rather) of the Grove Warden.
As the others began to trickle into the clearing, Kerras slid down from their perch and onto the ground, landing lightly on their feet. Without explanation, they began to pass out silvery flowers from their satchel, one for each member.

"Ah, it's perfect weather for a hike!" Nucleo proclaimed as he joined the group, running a few minutes late. He'd been up a little late the day before, finishing preparations for the trip! Carrying all of the different supplies he'd packed felt a bit heavy but he figured it was a good chance to do some strength training and thus didn't make any clones to help himself out. When a quiet tealblood approached and handed him a silver flower, the greenblood blinked in surprise but accepted it, wondering if there was any significance to the color. He didn't recognize the flower.
"Thank you, it's beautiful!" He smiled, tucking it into his bun where it was probably safest.
"Oh right, before we get started! I brought these for everyone!" Nucleo pulled out a bag of whistles and began to pass them out to the group. He was going to do his best to prevent it from happening but wanted a plan for what to do in case any trolls wandered off and got lost. With so many new members to their camping crew, the greenblood didn't know what to expect and which trolls had experience. Whistles seemed the easiest and simplest way to handle finding each other.
"If you get separated, lost, or anything happens please find a safe place and use this whistle and we'll come find you!" He requested with a serious but polite tone. While he hoped this trip would give them all many great and beautiful memories, well at least most of them, everyone's safety was the most important part for him.

Kolako had mostly signed up for the Explorer's Guild because she knew almost everyone in it. It was a chance to show her friends the amazingness of the Four Fronds forest, as well as keep them from the more dangerous places in the woods. She just... hadn't realized how far the outskirts of the forest were from her hive-- She hadn't really been traveling out of the forest much, lately... She let her weakened lusus know she was just an hours travel before grabbing a few things she knew she'd need-- She quickly tied her large fur shawl around her neck, along with her weapon and her special bag of weaponized nuts wrapped on her hip. Though... This was all just in case they wanted to eat something hunted. She'd grown used to traveling through the trees, as the familiar terrain on the ground had become mostly scary for her.
Koko arrived with a soft thunk near the group, bare feet curling a little in the grass as she approached the group, silent and not nearly as jovial as she normally was. She offered the group a small smile and a wave but stayed quiet, hovering near Amonee as her eyes searched the area for a familiar brownblood. "Sorry I was late..." She murmured, eyes falling on the others before returning to Amonee. "Where's Caiden?" She asked quietly, finding it strange their friend hadn't arrived. While she normally would've yelled and shaken everyone's hands, she still... Didn't feel like she could just trust anyone. Her eyes then fell to the tealblood handing out the silvery flowers, wondering where exactly they'd found these but not having the heart to ask. She twirled it a little in her hand, eyes soft, but she kept quiet, mouth opening and closing before she looked nervously at the others. She didn't know how to talk to them now, even after receiving something from one of them. She was, admittedly, a little scared.

Sephos Arbola
What did one do when someone handed you a silvery flower? Stick it gently in a pocket of course, to look at later. What did one do with a whistle-thing? Stick it in a pocket for later. Sephos had no idea why he'd ever need to use something like that, but if Nucleo was handing them out, he probably had a point. Nucleo, Sephos had learned, generally did.
Sephos knew a few of the trolls - not too surprising, since many also knew Panili and did the Lightbringer thing. He didn't know most of them particularly well, but he knew of them and that had been the extent of his social skills for sweeps anyway.
"Yeah. It's nice. Clear." he said to Xavier, trying to gauge the weather from the sky. The sky was clear, but the air smelled wet, impregnated with moisture. It was one of those days where it could go either way, the signs pointed to some weather later, perhaps, but it was looking more and more like it was leaning towards nice. The balance, Maku would have said, was shifted just a little that way.
"We got everybody?" Sephos said, eying the group. The ever-growing group. This was a lot to manage, but he could do this. He was pretty sure he could do this.
"Might rain tonight. So we should, uh. Go soon." He'd been looking at a map with Nucleo, figuring this stuff out. It was all so complicated, but at least he knew what he was doing here. Sort of. Enough to know that there was a good place to set up camping for at least one day, and that it would be good to get started towards there before it maybe rained.

Caiden was late, later than he had planned for, not that he ever planned on being late. He had found the most beautiful flower, and so he just had to stop and admire it and smell it! Then right next to that flower was another flower, equally as beautiful! Around the flowers were butterflies and bees and all sorts of exciting things, and the time had quickly slipped through Caiden's hands as he spent far more time than was warranted looking at every pretty thing he could find. The boy huffed as he stumbled to the campground, but immediately lit up as he saw everyone. "Im here! I made it!" The brownblood shouted to no one in particular as he took off the heavy backpack and went to greet everyone.
"Kolako!" The brownblood yelled as he barred towards the redblood, excitement in his eyes. He hugged her, then his eyes fell on another friend. "Amonee!" Caiden yelled as he spotted his next target, and moved to hug the jadeblood. The same happened with Xavier, Eilidh, Nucleo, and Elidae. "Im so glad to see you all!" Then Caiden's gaze fell on the trolls he did not exactly know too well. A large greenblood being the first target. Caiden approached Sephos, hand held out in greeting. "Hi im Caiden! Its such a pleasure to meet you! Your coming camping with us?! Oh this is gonna be great! OH and you too! Hi!" Caiden said to the two children, Quella and Kerras.

As the clearing filled with more and more trolls, Kerras bounced rapid-fire between them, waving, smiling, and showering them with flowers. At last the last member had arrived, and two of the greenbloods indicated that the group had best get started. As they began to forge a path through the woods, Kerras hopped along behind them, cape bouncing from their shoulders.
They had only gone a little ways when they spied something shiny and bright beneath the leaves of the undergrowth. They wandered off the path, wading through a cluster of vines. Several meters away from the rest of the group they stooped down to forage through the leaves. After a moment they straightened, holding aloft their discovery for all the rest to see: a spiny hissbeast.
