Rain was not something often seen in Sauti. When it first came down, Faamy glanced out the window of the tavern with a glance. It wouldn't last long anyway. Then it kept raining, and kept on raining... She'd never seen so much rain! ...She had to experience it!
A few minutes later, Faamy hurried back inside from dancing in the rain, grinning ear to ear as she wrang the water out of her hair and clothes by the fire. The confused stares she got only amused her, and made the experience that much more delightful. Her clothes clung to every curve, and her hair was a mess of curls going in every direction, but she sat down as she was to start fiddling with her oud. There was a song in this somewhere~

They’d finally reached the little tavern; her mother shoo’d her inside to get away from the rain. Cassia had wanted to help but her mother had refused, there was someone here to help, she didn’t need the extra hands. She also didn’t want Cassia getting sick. They were already both soaking wet and so Cassia hurried inside to the warmth. A few people glanced her way and she decided to keep her hoodie on even as she drew closer to the fire to warm up. She didn’t like other people staring and she felt way too many eyes on her here.
There was another girl by the fire.
“Sorry,” She mumbled politely as she drew closer to secure her own space. It must have bene odd to ee her with the wet hood still covering her head.

Contently plucking the strings, Faamy looked up when another body joined her with a soft apology. The Sautian blinked a couple times before cocking her head. "What're ya sorry fer, darlin'?" She asked, gesturing with one hand to the fire. "Ain't like I need all this heat ta mehself. Ya got some dryin' off ta do, yerself, it looks like. I ain't gonna stop ya." Chuckling lightly, she went back to plucking the strings, still attempting to capture the sound essence of the rain.

“Well I only meant,” Cassia struggled with her words. “In case I got in your way.” She was always being told she was saying sorry for no reason after all, why was that! She was only being polite after all and in this case letting her know that she was going to be there by her side. In any case, the woman’s accent was quite curious. She’d never heard one like it before but then again she hadn’t left the village much since that time…
“I like your accent,” she said softly. Now that her back was turned to everyone else, Cassia removed the hood and rubbed her hands together.

Faamy smiled lightly and nodded. "Aye, aye. Don't need ta 'pologize 'til ye're in the way though." Smirking lightly, she gave the girl another look. Just a young thing. " O' course, I ain't one fer 'pologizin' 'til they make meh," she admitted with a laugh. Oh, Faamy was sorry for nothing!
Accent? Oh, right, duh! "Why, thank ya, darlin'!" she crooned, tickled by the compliment. This was the first anyone had bothered pointing it out to her. "Ain't e'ryone in Sauti talks like I do, bu' they should." Grinning, she reached over without hesitation to pull a damp leaf off from the girl's cloak. "Yeh should be snuggled up in a bed 'r cozy chair insteada' bein' out in this~" Brow rising, she looked at the rain and back to her new companion. "Speakin' of... Does i' rain like this lots out 'ere in Tale?"

"Life of a merchant," Cassia said with a small smile as her eyes fixed on the fire in front of them. She extended out her hands to soak in some of the warmth. She ought to remove the clock to put aside to dry but she just wasn't feeling up to it just yet.
"Half the year it rains a lot like this," far too long in Cassia's opinion. "The other half is a drought." Everyone had this sort of love hate relationship with Tale. There was no real balance between the rainy seasons and the dry one. There were some nicer days, but no between. "What about in Sauti? Do you get a lot of rain?" Cassia had never been out of Tale before, didn't plan on doing so any time soon either.

Her cocked, Faamy paused a moment before smiling. "Aye. S'pose that's true." Merchants were a big part of Sauti, helping her to understand the prentice a little more. They must work similar along the land, right?
Looking with wide eyes at the rain, she ran a hand through her damp hair in an awe-filled manner. "Good gracious, no! Sauti ain't nothin' but a buncha dryness. Doesn't rain more'n five minutes at a tahme." She laughed and shook her head. "Think we'd all drown, not knowin' what ta do with even half'a this!"

“I wish it rained so little,” Cassia found herself saying out loud before finally deciding to remove the clock and set it up propped against a chair so it could dry off for a bit. The thing was so damp with water it had been heavy. Cassia shivered a little and rubbed her arms before drawing a little closer to the fire. “You guys are lucky.”
“Is this your first time in Tale?” It had to be if she didn’t know that it rained this much during the rainy season. Cassia wondered what she was doing in Tale, she’d end up asking her of course when she drew up enough courage to actually do so.

Brow cocking, Faamy smiled and shook her head. "If it rained 'ere like in Sauti, ya wouldn't have no green like this. Tha' would be a shame." She watched the cloak get hung up, smile shifting. Sauti wasn't enough, and Tale was too much. Gracious.
"Been 'ere fer just short time. Not sure 'ow long I'll be 'round, either." Patting her oud, she gave the girl another look over. "Ya wan' a hot drink 'r sumthin', darlin'? Looks like ya could use some warmin' up."

“Oh just tea for me please,” Cassia wasn’t sure what the instrument was so she stared at it a bit. “Are you a traveling musician?” She asked curiously. While she spoke, the leaf girl was testing out which parts of her were dry and which were not yet so that she could place them closer to the heat. Right now she had her back to the fire, her clock had been drenched and some water had gotten through.

Nodding, she made a motion to get one of the servers over, and ordered teas for the both of them, with a little kick added to her own. She could use a little warm-up as well! he looked down at her instrument again and nodded brightly. "Ah sure am! Gonna be all over Tendaji b'fore I'm done." Giving the oud an affectionate pat, she held it up to pluck at a few strings again. "Me 'n my oud 'r gonna be famous sumday~"
She looked to the girl and smiled. "Wha' 'bout yeh? What'll folks know yeh fer?" After all, there was surely no occupation that was not accompanied with a wish for fame of some sort!

“I wish you good luck,” Cassia said politely. She wondered how good the woman was and how well she sang, she wondered if it was hard to sing with her accent. Or maybe she didn’t have the accent when she sang, that would be curious.
“Me?” Cassia pointed to herself a little incredulous. “I uh, well. I’m not really sure?” She kind of felt dumb for not known. “I don’t know what I want to do yet. My family are merchants, so I will definitely do something that is connected to that I guess?” It wasn’t like cassia had any other skills after all.

Faamy smiled brightly at the well wishes. "Thank ya!" Always nice to see strangers willing to encourage other strangers.
She couldn't help laughing at the surprise on the girl's face and nodded in confirmation. A family of merchants. "Well, don't worry yer pretty head 'bout it too much yet. Yeh're still young, and got lots o' time ta see what yeh want from yer life." When the tea arrived, she took it upon herself to pour the golden brown liquid into the waiting cups. Sliding one cup toward Cassia, she picked up the other and blew on it before taking her first sip.

Cassia offered the other girl a smile but did not comment. Perhaps to others she was still young and had time, but when the family business was running on your shoulders it was hard to see it that way. She needed to be there for her mother and help her as much as she could, she wasn’t a young woman anymore.
“Thank you,” Cassia gently took the tea and mimicked the other women before taking a tentative sip. She swirled the warm liquid in her mouth to try and figure out all the ingredients before swallowing. “Ah this one is an easy guess,” Cassia chuckled and took another sip. “What do you think of the tea?”

Faamy spent no time savoring or swirling, only keeping her sips small from the heat. Easy guess? Oh, right. Tea merchant. Smirking lightly, she paused only slightly with one sip to taste it before swallowing. "Eh, I ain't much fer tea usually, but this stuff ain't so bad." She set her cup down and gave Cassia a wink. "I usually go fer the stronger stuff ta warm my bones~"
