Namira walked up to the table where three practice weapons were placed. A bow and arrows, dual swords, and a spear. She touched each of them. The looked old and well used. She figured they must have come from Chibale. In front of her, she could see an archery butt and a dummy for sword and spear training. She knew she would have to decide what weapon was her preference but she wanted to try each of them out first. If she were ever in a pinch, she would want to be able to pick up the nearest weapon and defend herself.
She was set up to meet with Ai and have her show her the basics. Namira had come to Yael as a youngling and knew of Ai but hadn't actually gotten to know her personally. She respected her as someone older and more experienced by default and was ready to give her, her full attention.Painted Moose let me know if you need more set up

Elf Princess Flannery Sorry this took so long! D: Ai didn't normally participate in instructional training. Occasionally she would spar with her sisters, maybe even the more experienced elaria, but never with the express purpose to teach. She lacked the patience for it; that simple shred of compassion that would allow her not to snap and rail over every minor mistake a budding young warrior might make.
It was enough to shatter a young girl's confidence, and it wasn't as if Ai had ever really been very loving to the elaria to begin with. Lately she'd tried to change her methods, but she still came off as...rough. Which was probably why she'd been partnered up with a younger alkidike instead of her pink tinged cousins.
Namira. She knew of the younger alk, but hadn't really spent much time around her. During their initial 'pilgrimage' Ai had been a pissy teenager, and little had changed in subsequent years. When she arrived she wasn't entirely surprised to find she was the last one there, but was thoroughly pleased by it. It showed initiative on Namira's part to be early; Ai liked that.
She looked over the weapons presented; not bothering to hide a lip curl when she spotted the bow. "Before we start I'll need to know what I'm working with. Have you practiced with any weapon before? If you have, which one, or ones, and how often?" There was no greeting; nothing to establish any sort of camaraderie between them. Ai wasn't the sort. She wanted to get this over with so she could go back to hunting Yaeli.

Namira's spine stiffened when she saw Ai approach. She couldn't help but compare herself. Ai was visibly strong and intimidating. Namira on the other hand still had to fill out and the meat on her bones left much to be desired. Without any introduction, she did her best to answer promptly.
"I have used a bow only three times when my mothers have taken me hunting. I have yet to hit my target. I have not used a sword before. I have my mother's practice spear at home. She does not know I use it to practice my fighting stance when she is out hunting." She felt a little pathetic, but it was why she was here. She needed to learn so she could start to build experience.Painted Moose sry for the late tag, life got busy
