Snakeform: Unconscious and cannot be controlled. Every night, as soon as he falls asleep, he turns into a 47-cm long, light green grass snake and reverts back into a human as soon as it is dawn. This is affected by the presence of the Sun and Moon, or in modern terms: timezones. His personality and memories as a snake are completely detached and independent from those of his human form. No, his clothes don't morph with him.

Personality: Tristan is...distracted. He keeps mostly to himself and always seems to be daydreaming. Not that it prevents him from getting perfect grades and handle the role of the student council's treasurer appropriately. Having little to no social life and plenty of time to study and work has its perks. He is optimistic and friendly once one gets him to talk, but it wouldn't be long before they notice that he is very sheltered when it comes to anything that can't be learned from books, especially when it come to anything concerning the bird and the bees. He isn't ambitious at all and is more socially awkward and oblivious to his blunders than he lets on. If anything, he is mainly seen as non-threatening, which would be quite accurate because he dislikes confrontations and violence.
As a snake, however, he's a real nasty biter and will hiss at anything that comes within 2 feet of him. When he isn't hissing, biting, or terrifying unsuspecting souls with tiny water whips, he's looking for warm, dark places to creep into. Bribable with drops of honey.
Fears: Spiders, but he loves eating them as a snake. Agoraphobia.
Backstory:
Tristan's mother fits the stereotype of a weed-smoking hippie with an unhealthy obsession with Pagan rituals and Gods. While she doesn't claim to be a Wiccan witch, she really enjoys their company, but one could say that her interest was not for naught. You see, the woman was infertile, but had always wished for a child to call her own. One day, her prayers were answered when her friends offered to perform a ritual that was meant to cure her of her ailment, but an occult ritual had accidentally been slipped into their prayers, irritating their gods. Instead of rendering the woman fertile once more, Nodens, deity of healing and the sea, picked up the grass snake they had used as a sacrifice and blessed it with his celestial powers, bringing it back to life in the form of a human-looking child. Overjoyed at first, the woman had thanked the gods for the wonderful gift she had received, but would soon come to realize that the child she had named Tristan was no ordinary child.
Every night, after falling asleep, he would revert back into a skittish grass snake with no memory of his human life. In the morning, upon seeing the first rays of the sun, he would revert back into a sleeping human with no memory of his nightly escapade. That made sleepovers an impossible thing, not to say that Tristan's mother's reputation even allowed for the growing boy to make many friends as a kid. He was mainly home-schooled by his oftentimes overbearing and overprotective weirdo of a mother. He grew up sheltered with books and wisps of smelly smoke as his only friends. His mother's relatives did occasionally visit and play with him, but her insistence in claiming that he was a "gift from the gods" had them questioning her sanity even more than usual. In desperation, she showed them his nightly transformation, but that sent them in a panicked frenzy. Fortunately, Videl's staff intervened, wiped their memory and took Tristan away before they could turn him into a lab rat. Since that day, Tristan had been living on a monthly allowance graciously offered by the Academy. He enrolled as soon as he was of age and is still trying to convince the staff to let him move onto campus even when school was out.
Goal: Get a white collar job once he graduates.
