After some not quite so extensive research on birth control, I believe condoms despite being the least effective, is the best way next to abstinence solei because they are the safest. Hope some one who knows more comments soon. Good luck!

The guild sure seems too quiet x_x I've only been on the pill for a few months now. So far it works really well and I actually lost some weight too. The pharmacist who recommended me this said that it can help reduce weight and acne. Although, I'm not sure if this is one of the side effect from being on it but some food tastes different or it could be just that i suddenly find some food that I liked before disgusting now. sweatdrop

My sister has the one that goes in your arm and it definitely works. She's had it for quite a few years and she loves it. It's probably also the best alternative to other forms of birth control.
I just started the pill a little over a month ago and it's my first form of birth control. I'm still getting used to it and but I find it easy to remember to take it since I set an alarm on my phone daily to remind me in case I forget. But I only almost forgot one day.

A TRUE STORY

I'm a senior, and past menopause -- but at one time I was on oral contraceptives -- a high estrogen pill -- but the pharmacy I used got my prescription mixed up with my sister's low estrogen pill and I became pregnant. I chose to have my child, and marry my son's father -- something I would do all over again, if given the chance. I think using a prophylactic and the pill (the correct prescription) as a combo, might be a wise decision for pregnancy prevention.

even with an alarm i legit get distracted/put it off and forget *sigh* - the arm one freaks me out cuz i feel like i would play with it because i know it is there and you are supposed to be able to feel it

My fiance uses condoms and I take birth control and this has been the most effective for me. I've been on the pill about 2 years now, it has made my period lighter and I've had no negative effects from it. If you have trouble remembering why don't you set an alarm on your phone for the time you need to take it?

Hello! I’m on the pill and like you I was super worried about not remembering to take it. I use an app on my iPhone called myPill that reminds you to take your pill and it’ll keep bugging you until you mark in the app you took it. It’s honestly not as much of a hassle as I thought it would be! Though when I first started I kept forgetting to take it out of my school bag on the weekends rolleyes
I love being able to control when I have my periods and haven’t had to deal with many side effects. I use a version of the pill with low estrogen because I have migraines, and also my window of taking the pill to still protect me is 12 hours(though I try and take it at roughly the same time every day I don’t get fussed about an hour or 2)! And my partner and I don’t use any other form of protection since I went on the pill 3ish years ago. Right before I went on the combined pill I tried out a progestin only one because originally I wanted the implant and it was HORRIBLE!!! You don’t have to stick to a method if it doesn’t work for you, a lot about picking birth control imo is trial and error.
Let me know if you have any more questions!!
