It has come to me through extraordinary means the mundane realisation that ours was not a very pleasant first encounter; having been lost in the desert of mis-diagnosis, I wander about days on end, wondering what might befall our budding nation if our crops, which I assure you are thriving, had been sown in soil rotted a dark crimson by strife...
Ah! But let me begin by saying, earnestly, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to your estate. Only a true gentleman will bear the anger of a foreigner as a gracious host, and you have shown me nothing but professionalism. It is my only regret that this was the last time we have spoken.
It tugs at me so because I had the chance to explain our situation--in the lands of Etelan and Titania, your neighbor, that is. Indeed, I fear, it is such a lack of communication which has brought the sudden, rude, awakening that my lands had been dithered so...
But I digress. The obvious remedy, as none wish to take advantage of the other's homeland but instead ensure mutual prosperity--this I believe to be absolutely true of a man of your caliber--is civil and honest discussion.
Let it be known that there are brighter days ahead for all with feathers, no matter the petty attachments of "Dark" or "Light." I'd love to meet with you soon; men of integrity do not let the iron cool, so to speak.

After the first harvest in Etelan and Titania, the good Lord Titanus has decreed to his people and sent post to others (taverns, shops, construction sites, etc.) that he will be leading Etherland into a new era of prosperity; and so the count, who has brought lush profit to the lands of his charge (Antigone, Titania, Etelan), throws his hat into the race for mayor of Etherland.

Lord Titanus, lord of lands Etelan, Titania, and Antigone, Ethe to the Duke of Norcross: My good man, esteemed Duke of Norcross, It occurs to me, in this time of great upheaval, that there is the ever-growing impetus for Ethe to close itself off (I trust you've heard of the calamities lapping over our fair land as echoes to the eruption); however, and I do say this with complete confidence, good sir, that I think this is a most unfortunate, foolish, and furthermore underdeveloped way of thinking. I have seen the great miracle that is integration, communication, in other lands--I see its brutish antithesis here coiled around the falsely strong shell which is our saving grace for the moment--and I see, most often, the kind of prosperity afforded one who is of a character strong enough, brave enough, cool-headed enough, to reach out and offer this seed of brotherly conthrophication to take root in another. Good Duke, with words I cannot say how grateful I am for your time alone. With the surest heart I ask for a conference to show just how resilient the body of Ethe can be. Sometime after the death of Duke Watercress... Dixon to Esther Fair Princess, I am writing you simply because I find myself thinking of you; I have often found myself thinking back to that night beneath the stars in that tent. This memory and the silky feeling at my face of your touch come to me when I am most stressed. And believe me: it has been very trying lately. Aye... It may seem selfish, but just as the miners of Etelan and the farmers in Kaishin must sleep and do so without a second thought, so too, I feel, it is time for this worried mind to rest. I shall be headed to Lionis after all. I can only imagine what cooling breeze will caress my soul--surely you will see a brighter count than these past weeks have shown my compatriots. Lord Titanus, in his infinite and benevolent wisdom, has seen fit to help those who have been scared and disenfranchised--that is, those who have turned to crime upon return to their home in Etherland--by securing for them new homes in the lands of Etelan, Antigone, and Titania. In these new homes, the count has provided tools for farming and mining and has awarded the most productive citizens with rights to build their own house and a plot of land to support a small farm. The offenders are being forced to rebuild the land, it's true, but is it not the land they wish to inhabit to begin with? It certain is more appealing to work on one's own future, see it come to fruition by one's own efforts in the design of one's choosing, than to wait in poverty, entrusting a weakened government to provide what they cannot? There is, of course, a record harvest to be expected out of this arrangement. Ethe's farms, a large number of which reside in Etelan, have already been blessed by the Goddess Agni; combined with the ultra-fertile soil and the work of countless returners, there is little doubt this will come to pass. If not the whole of Ethe, at least the lands in the charge of the great Lord Titanus will become self-sufficient once again, having food enough to raise an army.

The good and beneficent Lord Titanus, having an earnest and fatherly mind for the people is his charge as well as his country, has seen it so that his people will not be defenseless. In council with his elite workers, a consensus has been reached that it be for the benefit of all to begin training the able-bodied citizens. Below is a copy of a letter which has been sent to Lady Kai--slated to arrive this afternoon. Dearest Youkimi, It has come to our attention in these recent trials, here in our farms and mines, that we, save this splendid wall, are defenseless. I am ashamed to report this, but better it be dealt with shamefully than to let appearance spell our ruination. If it is at all possible, I would pay handsomely to hire one of your most capable men--in no way do I dodge the name of one Mr. Hisoka, of whom I have heard a great deal, only to be left with a greater mystery in impression--to train some of my best; they in turn may train our workers in the ever-necessary arts of self-defense. After talking with Roland on that grim day, I am reassured only of the softness of the ground upon which our holy state sleeps; let us not disturb her sleep but ensure this nap comes to term peacefully and without obstacle for our splendiferous resurgence. I eagerly await your decision. Dearest Ophelia, Youkimi, I have taken it upon myself to assemble a meeting of the leaders of our provinces at their earliest convenience to discuss what I hope will become the foundation of the future of our fair nation. So it please the court and all its officiating powers, I shall be taken notes one what has been discussed and will detail a list of finalised resolutions agreed to by our assembly of lordies and ladies. I do so wish to rebuild Ethe, but I realise the importance of strengthening Her pieces with precision and care. Anything that is not unanimously agreed to in this conference will not meet your words to be approved. --And indeed I have taken quite an array of actions in my own states, in my own power, as is my right as their governor; however I see little strength in an Ethe that does not advance together, and so I seek your approval on the most effective strategies to that end... To the noble and great lord Xerseis of Phobos, Good friend, yours was hilarious. Laughter is the most expensive of our commodities these days, and I thank and thank you for the chance to buy precious morale with it to-day. In the time of my ascent, I wish to keep you in mind--we here in Titania know how to treat our singles right. In the business of it all, I am afraid I have some less-than-pleasing news. Our good prince, the hybrid Alistair, has not the faith in my decisions as do you. On top of this, the former prince of Bellris Roland has seemed to cool his vendetta against the impeding administers of the country. And finally, our queen is quite incapacitated. Throwing this all in the current climate of shaking off our goddess... It is difficult to keep the people cheerful--and yes, that is my solution for everything. You will learn. More brightly, the wall will allow you and yours to enter our fair country soon. We shall alert you to the drop as soon as possible, and might I add that our art will be in full swing on your arrival? Yes! An auction to shake the ceiling of hell! It should be known: we expect men of your caliber and--dare I?--the royal family of Letho to attend. Great, wise Lord Xerseis, Friend, it is not been a very strong day at all in my world. Indeed, even the strong must falter... However, I can safely report that the wall has indeed come down. In the way I have envisioned such a thing happening--yes, my reality has not quite matched the beat of my dream... --But that matters not. The celebration will recommence in full at Titania as soon as I have met with the leaders of our fair land. I would be honored if you would sit with our esteemed and capable Duke Chhatrapati and the King Herod Letho for just a bit before joining us in Titania for the auction. Also, if it would be possible, I would like to buy the services of your forces along the Titanian border for a time. All the best to you in this terrible winter, and may your wit bring me to a lighter mood in the nearest possible future. In lieu of recent debacles such as border raids and the riots at the fire, Lord Titanus has called for forces from the great duke of Phobos Lord Xerseis to stand at the border and his own men to crush the riots by force. No lives are to be taken, but prisoners will be made of any who attempt to further disrupt the peace of Ethe. Also, a staff is to work around the clock to maintain a re-ignited Fire. It will burn so long as the people wish it to.

In his wisdom and pragmatism, in the wake of the brush with insurrection, the good Lord Titanus has sought fit to divvy up his purse from the wildly successful auction in the following ways:
20,000EC Are to be given to the Royal house to ease troubles there
20,000EC Are to strengthen the militia around the borders of Bellris and Etherland, in addition to his forces from Phobos, where he can manage
5,000 to the funeral costs of the Chhatrapati family
65,000 to the construction efforts laid out over a year ago, including the road of pillars to connect the entire northern half of Ethe, Phobos to Bellris by way of Titania through Solidon, which shall be guarded at key points by archers armed with obsidian arrowheads, and several small temples to various local gods as well as the goddess Agni. The road is not to be taxed by anyone, even House Titanus, and the temples are meant to revive vigorous faith throughout the nation.
These things are to be done as soon as possible. The count humbly asks the cooperation of the sitting Stewardess on the matter.

Honorable and Graceful Duchess Chhatrapati, It brings me a growing chain of smiles and quiet chuckles to hear from you again. It was certainly no burden on me to spend time in Solidon. In this short time your reputation seems to have grown to reach me all the way in Titania. Need I say how impressive that is? Surely not surprising. Oh, but I would hate to meet for business alone.
