The evening posed to be a lovely one. Stars glistened above in a nearly cloudless sky and the waning moon, now a sliver, produced a very pale light over the city rooftops. Even the persistent wind of March couldn’t ruin the the near spring-like conditions despite the chill that still lingered on it. No, the evening was near perfection after a cold winter and many people seemed to be taking advantage of the mild Saturday night. The city was alive with action as the winter time blues were slowly beaten away with activities and fun.

Not quite enjoying the mirth of the evening, Sailor Harmonia was certainly enjoying the warmth. She had lucked out with her parents going away for the weekend. No one was home to notice her missing so she was able to head out earlier than usual. If things went well, perhaps she’d even get to retire early for the night. That was a lovely thought considering she needed to get to the stable early tomorrow to begin training again with Willow. Now, that was something she was looking forward to.

Skipping from rooftop to rooftop, the wind tugged at her fuku and hair. Multiple times she found herself tugging the unruly curls out of her face as the wind was funneled up from the street and swirled around her. March seemed to be going out like a lion and she was happy to see it go. April meant the likely hood of flowers blossoming and the weather turning to the better more often than not. For now though, she was content. Content to enjoy the early spring evening.

Boot heels clicked on the rooftop of an old steel factory. It was one of the few buildings closer to the heart of the city that were in disarray. Though, by the look of the machinery placed around the perimeter of it, Harmonia wondered if the building was soon to meet it’s demise. That thought though wasn’t the most prevalent thing on her mind. It was no sooner had she began to explore the building’s rooftop that a chaos signature popped up very close by.

The senshi hesitated a moment, unsure if she should approach but upon closer inspection she realized the signature was much weaker than herself. A Lieutenant, most likely. Curious and willing to see who it was, the Senshi of Harmony leapt down from the rooftop to take to the nearby alleyways, stopping only when she slipped between a convenience store and a laundry-mat. The signature was terribly close. Perhaps above?

Using window sills and a rickety fire escape, Harmonia hopped up to the roof. She stood on top of the laundry-mat. The rickety fire escape the only way down unless one jumped. It was accompanied by vents and an AC unit, but that wasn’t what had the senshi’s attention. Instead, she was focused on the person standing near the opposite precipice.

Not wanting to cause alarm, Harmonia didn’t push to close the distance. Instead she smiled brightly and gave a wave as the wind whipped past her. “Hi!” She called, hoping her voice carried to the Lieutenant. “Out enjoying the evening tonight? It’s lovely!”

Hopeite loved the sounds of the city. The clamor of lives crushed together, fighting for life and air... that monstrous struggle for life personified. Lives beneath her snuffed out and blinked into existence, flickering like the stars above her. The strongest of lights overpowered the weaker, absorbing them to grow in power and strength. Everything always came back to that one brutal ideal. Nature had a way of creating the most perfect version of itself, and that one perfect incarnation was always born of blood and fear. Hopeite reveled in the glorious microcosm of her city as it screamed it's cacophonous symphony into the abyss above. Some cried in victory, others for help. No one would receive an answer.

The wind that swept up the facade of the building Hopeite perched on carried with it the electric shock of Order. Hopeite opened her eyes only partially and took one long drag on her cigarette. Now that was interesting. One of them had never sought her out before. She blew the smoke back out into the wind, considering her options. She could be mistaken, and the child was just on their way somewhere else. In which case there would be no reason to draw attention to herself. Child thought this senshi may be, they were clearly stronger than Hopeite was. Even with adulthood on her side, she would be no match for their magic. Not with her little cigarette.

And then the senshi spoke.

Hopeite was still for a moment, taking a long, leisurely drag on her cigarette as she waited for... something. For the senshi to get bored and leave... or attack. Soemthing. When it was clear that she would do neither, Hopeite flicked the ashes from her perpetually lit cigarette and stood and turned to face her. Her motions were deliberate, measured, and above all, confident.

"Alright," she drawled, laying the cigarette on the raised barrier of the rooftop. "Let's do this I suppose. What are you, Senshi of... sprinkles? Hail it down on me baby, get it over with."

The scent of the cigarette wafted towards the senshi courtesy of the winds. It wasn't a gaggingly strong scent considering it's diluted state, but it was something the teen was able to decipher. Thankfully it didn't linger long. Their position on the rooftop meant the winds were free to funnel up from the streets below and push from whichever direction they wanted. So, no sooner had that smokey, tobacco scent hit her did it get blown away. Still, a little wrinkle of her nose at the offending smell did occur, but she said nothing of the offending item. Instead she was more intrigued by the no-nonsense attitude this lieutenant had.

And...senshi of sprinkles? Really? She glance down at herself for a moment, trying to decide where that notion had come from. If anything she had expected a joke about carnivals or carousels but sprinkles?

"Actually, I am Harmonia, senshi of Harmony." She said indulgingly as she took a few steps towards the brown uniformed agent. "And I didn't come up here to hunt you down and attack or anything." Her voice was calm and had an up-beat tone to it as she neared. She stopped a few feet away and clasped her hands behind her lower back, pushing the wings of her eternal fuku forward just a bit as the poked out from under the crook of her elbows. "I'd much prefer to just chat actually. I've never been much into fighting and would rather get to know people instead. We are all people after all, just with different views on this war we are in."

At times, the 16 year old could sound years older than she should. Perhaps that was the experience of the war she was in or, and like many would chock it up to be, it could be the naive nature of someone who hadn't fully grasped that not all people were good. It certainly wouldn't be hard to pin Harmonia as the later as she desperately did hope for a peaceful way of coming to a truce with the chaos side.

"And who are you?" She questioned, openly curious.

Hopeite watched Harmonia quietly, almost sizing the senshi up. She looked her up and down several times, keeping her expression as neutral as possible as she did so. What was this Senshi's end game? What was she trying to gain from this course of action? Was she trying to lure Hopeite in a false sense of security, only to strike when her guard was down? That wasn't going to happen. She may have had phenomenal cosmic power on her side, but magic ran out and children got tired. All Hopeite would have to do was outlast her, and then use her size and age to her advantage. Or was she in it for the long con? Gathering intel to use against her and her team? Maybe was she the distraction for an ambush by a stronger, older senshi? Usually, Hopeite was very good at figuring out people's agendas but this one... she was either very good or she was very stupid.

Stupid. She was very very stupid.

So that was why Hopeite could not sense an agenda. There wasn't one. She sat back against the barrier with a sigh, slightly disappointed that she didn't get the fight that she wanted. Curious... she had never been a particularly violent person. But this uniform... this magical cigarette that never seemed to burn up or go out... they did something to her. Created some growling creature deep within herself that she didn't understand. And even now it snarled deep within her, pulling at her muscles and tendons to get her to move. She tried to placate their demands by lifting the cigarette to her lips once more to fill her lungs with smoke, but it only somewhat worked.

“You want to talk,” she drawled lazily, blowing the smoke out around her words. “That’s a first. Well alright then. Talk.”

It felt like she was being analyzed for the weight of her soul with how the Lieutenant studied her. Eyes squinted at her, weighed her, tried to figure her out and Harmonia found herself growing a bit antsy from the attention. She squirmed a bit, hands rubbing together behind her back as she shifted on her feet slightly. The lieutenant didn't scare her and it wasn't because of rank differences, Harmonia was just a very open girl to whomever she met. It was just that weighing gaze that made her fidget. Thankfully it didn't last too terribly long and the agent figured out whatever it was that she was trying to figure out. Whatever the answer, it seemed the older woman was willing to open up to her. To a point anyway. For the time being it looked like the senshi was going to have to spearhead the conversation.

Ah well, she didn't mind. If there was one thing Harmonia could do it was talk.

"Ok, no name for now. That's fine." She said pleasantly. "I hope you don't mind me coming over to visit and all. I am just terribly curious about meeting others no matter what side they're on. So, how long have you been part of the negaverse?" A head tilted as she asked the question, a stray curl falling over her eyes which she gave an annoyed look at before blowing it out of her face.

"I mean, have you been powering up for long? Do you like the negaverse? I have met a few people who aren't happy and others who seem to really like it." Her thoughts shifted to Merlinite who was one of the former and unfortunately unable to free himself of his duties to chaos due to the lack of ability to purify him. "I mean, you don't need to go into detail or anything if you don't want! I am just terribly curious. I promise not to attack or something because I don't agree with you or something. I don't like to fight if it can be avoided."

She paused for a moment, finally letting her arms drop down to her side. "Or maybe you don't want to talk about the negaverse and would rather just chat about every day stuff. So....how was your day? Good I hope!"

She didn't like to fight? How on earth did she get to be the rank that she was if she didn't like to fight? It was... unnatural. The only explanation that Hopeite could come up with was that no one stronger than Harmonia had come along to gobble her up. Well... at least not yet. It was only a matter of time before nature took it's course and did away with her. She smiled wickedly around her cigarette at the thought. Poor sweet child. The world had no room for people like her. The weak, the mild, the unassuming. All would pass in their time, crushed by power. Harmonia was no different.

Hopeite blew a long thin stream of smoke out before she answered, "oh it was just peachy, doll, thanks for asking. How about yours?"

Hopeite wasn't much for small talk, but she may as well schmooze this little girl. Maybe she would have something interesting to say. Something useful. Hopeite mind still worked to find this girl's end game, however. She stretched her senses to see if there were any order signatures lurking nearby... hell, they may even be civilians, waiting to power up when the moment was right. How many could Hopeite overpower? She would have to run...

Right well, it seemed she definitely found one of the non-talker sort. But, Harmonia wasn't going to let that dismay her. After all, the woman was willing to listen and give some input and it was enough to keep the Eternal interested. After all, things hadn't degraded to any fighting so that was a win in her book. She could work with this.

"Mine was fantastic! I mean, I got a lot of homework to deal with but figured I'd do that all tomorrow. So I spent the day horseback riding and training." She grinned happily. Any day spent with Willow was a good day indeed. She loved her bay mare with all of her heart and the two of them were certainly going to do well this summer at competition, she could feel it!

"Plus it's always nice to spend a day away from Mom and Dad. I love them but I am also getting old enough to just be out and about on my own more often, ya know? But since I have no brother or sister it's like...super difficult to fly under the radar." A teenagers general problem. Over protective parents. And Harmonia's were extra so it seemed. Not that she could blame them considering her hospital visitations these past few years and her memory loss.

"So, anything fun happen?" She questioned again, trying to pry more conversation out of the woman. There was no telling how successful she'd be considering that things had been, mainly, one sided so far, but she hoped to break through the ice.

School age... maybe 16. Definitely around 16 judging by the burgeoning need for independence. Only child... family well enough off to be able to have a horse and keep their child riding and probably also competing, based on the tidbit about training. She might go to HITS but... students at that school didn't usually procrastinate. Certaily not St. Magdelena's, this girl was anything and everything but trouble. Crystal or Meadowview, but Hopeite's judgement.

"Horseback, hmm," Hopeite blew another vein of smoke away from Harmonia to avoid any annoying coughing. "You family must be comfortable enough to keep you in that hobby. All I ever did was piano. And I hated every second of it." Not a total lie. Truth be told she hadn't really cared one way or another for piano. It was her mother's half-hearted attempt to keep her off the streets... even thought that wasn't really a threat... she tried to keep the irritation at the memory from her face, but failed, and instead masked it behind her hand as she inhaled yet again. Good thing this smoke never went out...

"I was an only child too. I get that. My mother was endlessly obsessed with keeping me on the straight and narrow. I didn't really care what road I was on, as long as she left me alone." Not a single lie there. Even now her mother continually nagged her about her prayers and her attendance to whatever church or this lady's society. Hopeite didn't generally listen when her mother went on those tangents. "Now she only has her cats lives to micromanage, poor little shits."

Did anything fun happen. Hopeite worked at a children's book store. Fun was her middle ******** name.

"Fun..." careful not to give too much away. Anyone could have an overbearing mother with cats. Not everyone owned and worked in Story Time Children's Book Store. "We got a shipment in at work, so I spent the day shelving. It sounds boring but I enjoy it. It's repetitive and once I get into a groove I can focus on other things. So I guess... yes?"

Harmonia beamed. Finally she was getting something! She was breaking into that cold exterior and finally learning a bit about this woman. "Yep! My parents have good jobs!" She wasn't about to go into detail what those jobs were. Though her mother was pretty innoculous with a desk job, her father worked in radio and could be easier found. At least, that's what she felt. After all, protecting her parents was one of the numerous reasons she continued to power up.

The mention of piano though. Now that was interesting! "OH! PIANO!" She would have launched herself at the woman, and nearly did so before reigning herself in. The woman had mentioned she hated learning it after all. "I've always wanted to learn but never had the time with riding. I learned the flute in school though, but it's not the same. I am slightly jealous." She admit with a grin. "But I am super sorry you hated it. Why did you learn if you didn't enjoy it? Because of your mom?" That was one thing Chailee never really experienced. Her parents never forced her to do something she didn't like. Sure, they made it a point to teach her to finish something she started, and she learned that early on, but something was never forced upon her.

"So, did you ever wish you had any siblings? I know I have! I always wondered what it would be like to have a younger or older sister to goof around with and just be the best of friends. Plus, it makes me wonder if my parents wouldn't be so protective of me if they had someone else too." Another gust of wind shot up around them and as she felt the tug, Harmonia instinctually reached down to her skirts to keep them from flying upward. Sure she had a body suit of sort on as well that kept embarassing displays to a minimum, but it still wasn't fun to have them fly up.

Thankfully the gust was short lived and she was able to push her hair out of her face and let go of the skirts. "Sometimes I find these short skirts terribly annoying."

"So, do you like to keep things neat and organized? Or just sorting things?" It certainly sounded like it if she enjoyed shelving things. Harmonia herself found pleasure in sorting her book collection. Sometimes she felt hte need to sort my author, other times by title, or even by the color of the spines! But that was about the only think in her room that anyone could say was kept neat and organized. Otherwise, her room was the typical teenage disaster zone with clothes strewn everywhere and girlie paraphernalia scattered on her dresser and vanity. She didn't even bother to make her bed most of the time.

Hopeite nearly bit through the filter at the sudden outburst from the girl. Surprise made it difficult to hide the sneer, though she tried her best.

"It was boring," she said simply. "I'm all for order and patterns, but sitting endlessly doing the same thing... that's monotony. So it's not so much organizing that I enjoy as I do putting things in order." Was that the same thing? Something in Hopeite thought that maybe it wasn't but... it certainly did sound like it was the same thing. Finally she shrugged and took another long drag on her cigarette before blowing smoke rings as she thought about her next answer. Did she ever want siblings? To be perfectly honest, the thought had never occurred to Hopeite. At least not in a long time. Had she before? Certainly not now, she didn't. One more person to take care of.

"I prefer to be alone," she said simply in answer. "I had friends with little siblings and older. It was just... constant noise. I'd go crazy." One of the benefits of being an only child -- silence. "And I never was very good at sharing."

And then the scout had a moment. The gust of wind mussed Hopeite's hair, but a few flicks of her free hand fixed that. Harmony seemed to be struggling, however. Wardrobe malfunctions must be common her with kind, Hopeite mused. Broken pumps, flipped up skirts, busted bustiers. What kind of magic decided that in order to be a sailor scout they all had to be so scantily clad?

"It's almost like whatever phenomenal cosmic powers thrust you into this war didn't want you to win," she mused, sardonic glee twinkling in her eyes. It made her thankful for her own sensible uniform.

Harmonia smoothed her skirt in question. "I don't know baout that. They're certainly easy to move in. I have free range of motion." She smiled. "I have to admit, some of the uniforms I've seen on the negaverse's side seem a bit...stuffy and uncomfortable." With a shrug she placed her hands on her hips. "I think our stuff at least looks cuter." A wink and a giggle followed. "I never much cared for uniforms though, so that's just a personal preference."

She could understand the agent's view on the sibling thing. Sharing things that one was use to having all to their self and also dealing with extra noise was abit of a turn off, but Harmonia liked to envision that having the companionship of a sibling would over ride the negative. Maybe that was her optimism shining through but it was something she had always wanted and would keep on wanting unless her parents decided to have another or adopt. Both of those cases would be unlikely at this point.

"So, what were you up to up here tonight? Just enjoying the view?" She turned her back to the woman to look in the direction that she had come from. "It's definitely nice."

Turning back clasped her hands behind her back once more. "I find the city to be really pretty at night with all of the lights and neon signs. Plus it's not as hectic and noisy. Sometimes I'll even lay out somewhere to look at the stars too and just...envision what some of them are like and what sort of things may have lived out there once." Her face dropped a bit, her smile turning a tad bit sadder. "I wonder how and why all of that managed to become an on going war that's quite literally, destroying people's lives. Like, why? It seems silly. Why can't we just come to some sort of truce and all? We all live here on Earth now and shoudl try to get along."

The conversation turned a bit heavy and Harmonia realized it. Heaving a sigh she shook her head gently, sending the pink and blue curls into a slight frenzy with the action. "ANYWAY," She said, pushing her mood back up and bouncing on her toes in the effort to lift her own mood. "How long have you been around? I mean, in the negaverse." Again the senshi began to pry and attempt to learn a bit more about the agent's life with chaos, though she certainly wasn't the most subtle about it.

"I finished my quota for collecting energy, so I came up here to smoke before I go home." It was as much a simple statement as it was a test. Hopeite relaxed into the concrete parapet with practiced ease, leaning out into thin air as she inhaled the last of her cigarette before flicking it away. She could always summon it back when she craved it again. Instead, she wanted Harmonia's reaction to her admission of guilt. Harmonia seemed endlessly optimistic about people, a weakness that Hopeite meant to learn more about.

And then the girl started waxing philosophic. Hopeite had to fight herself not to groan. Oh for the love of -- "People wage war because we need to. Have you ever read Heart of Darkness? It's a good read, and I do recommend it. Kurtz, it turns out, had it all figured out. He went into the jungle because he wanted to live life as the gods intended. In merciless, unadulterated, unapologetic brutality. He wanted to be a god. He wanted to murder and maim and use as he saw fit. So he did. It's the same for us, sweet cheeks." She stood again and crossed the space between herself and Harmonia. "We're all monsters. That bullshit your leaders fed you about stars in your hearts and the greater good. That's all it is. Bullshit. People wage war because in the end humanity only wants to bathe in blood and violence. War gives us an excuse to do that.

"I've been around long enough to figure that out. We were put on earth to find new and exciting ways to hurt each other. And then we die. Either by someone else's hands or the hands of time, it doesn't matter. We toil, we suffer, and we expire."

Well, Harmonia had learned something tonight. Yes, she knew that the negaverse collected energy and all, but she had no idea that there was a quota that had to be met. "Are there...punishments if you don't reach your quota?" She wasn't sure if she could forgive the collection of energy against unwilling donors.

"I...I don't like the idea you have to collect energy or anything, I just....I guess I can understand, a tiny bit, if you're punished if you don't collect what you need." But that brought up another reason for people to get out of the negaverse. Harmonia couldn't imagine being forced to do something like collect energy from people. "As long as people aren't being killed or hurt...I..." She sighed, nope, she couldn't come up for a reason to accept the collection of energy from the unwilling.

But, in a way this agent was also a victim.

And just as quickly it seemed that the conversation was turning a bit heavy on the debate side. That hadn't been Harmonia's intent. Conversing had been all she wanted, maybe even making a neutral friendship at best. At least this woman had a source to refer to as opposed just stating what she believed, like Harmonia tended to do. "I...I don't agree with you, but I am not saying you're wrong." She bit at her lip. "I'll look for that book though. Maybe that will help me understand where you're coming from."

"But, I certainly don't have any interest in hurting people for fun or excitement." She said quietly, as if trying to emphasis that perhaps Hopeite was terribly wrong with her assumption.

Averse to confrontation, huh? Hopeite smiled wryly and mussed Harmonia's hair. In that moment, something inside of Hopeite raised its head. She couldn't place its name, but it was slimy and nasty and mean. It smiled with wickedly pointed teeth and waited patiently for her to call it forward. Hopeite said nothing as it coiled inside of her gut, stretching out languidly and then turning back in on itself. What could that strange sensation be?

"It doesn't matter what you think where there's a war on, honey. All that matters is what you do. Besides, you'll be blooded soon enough. Every soldier is eventually baptized in enemy blood. That's the nature of things."

And she knew that Harmonia would believe what she believed right up until the bitter, bloody, screaming end. That slimy terrible thing inside of her whispered that fact to her insidiously, curling itself around Hopeite's heart. What was that thing that attached itself to her? What did it want?

Harmonia was surprised by the mussing of her hair. She had been getting the feeling that this woman was going to remain stand-offish but that one gesture was enough to cause a bright, hopeful smile to spread across the senshi's face as she reached up to attempt to right the normally wild hair. Of course, the wind wasn't helping matters one bit. Why did she bother?

"Well, I have no intention on bloodying anyone. I think you can get by with words as long as both parties are willing to listen to one another." She remarked stoutly. "Maybe our lack of communication is why this war has been going on for so long. Someone has to try something different and if there's enough of us who think the same way, maybe something will change." Harmonia was practically beaming from her answer. She stood steadfast in her thoughts. She wanted with all her heart for the war to come to an end. Even more so, she wanted everyone to survive and learn to live with one another and just converse.

Tolting her head, green eyes fixing on the agent's, Harmonia tucked her hands behind her back. Once again the white wings poked out from under her arms. "So...are you going to tell me your name now?" She said brightly like a child who was innocently testing boundaries.
