Some how, Delilah had ended up with a large sub for dinner after all that debate between Chinese and pizza. It had been enough for her to come home, curl up on the couch with her book, text Jeremy she was home, and munch on until she felt calm enough to sleep. Of course that was when she remembered Jeremy mention the sleep walking and she had to do some 2am furniture moving. By the time she was pretty sure things would be safe, the only thing she hadn't blocked him from was the bathroom. If he managed to fall into the toilet, that was on him! Besides, Jeremy had once told her that his brother liked sleeping in tubs...she might have checked when she came home. Falling asleep hadn't been an issue. It turned out though staying asleep had. She kept going over the things she had said that evening. Questioning if she had been right. Wondering if he even had an idea of half of what she was talking about. She tried to logic herself to sleep but by the time the sun came up, Delilah gave it up. Out of bed and straight for the coffee pot. She was making one heck of a strong cup when she glanced into the fridge and pulled out the bacon and eggs. Well...she had company after all. Now where was that pan...

Either by luck or exhaustion, Myles had stayed put all night. When she returned he was exactly where he’d left her, sleeping deeply enough that he might have slept through anything. He stayed asleep for a while, but it seemed the smell of coffee and movement might have been enough to rouse him.
He crawled out of bed and navigated the house (poorly), finding the kitchen on his second try. His clothes were rumpled and his hair disheveled; he seemed to be trying to pry his eyes open when he shuffled into the area.
“Mornin’,” he mumbled, voice slurred with sleepiness. “Can I steal a glass of water?” he asked, trying to stifle a yawn behind his hand.

The pan was hot and sizzling by the time the male voice made Delilah turn her head. Her black hair was tired up in a messy bun to stay out of the heat so she could only smile as she saw how much of a bed head he was. "Mornin' Myles." Delilah offered, shifting the pan off the fire for a moment so the bacon wouldn't burn as she shifted over a cabinet to grab a glass. Instead of going to the sink, she headed for the fridge and placed the glass for cold water. "How did you sleep? I hope it wasn't too cold for you." She did keep her place cooler at night. Honestly she couldn't sleep when it was warm. Placing the glass on the bar counter for him, Delilah turned back to the stove flipping the bacon before putting it back on. "So how do you like your eggs? Scrambled? Over Easy? Don't asked for poached because they always turn out like soup."

Myles blinked, rubbing at his eyes once more. He reached for the glass but paused, moving so that both hands were holding the cup. It was clear why; he was watching it with such focus out of fear of dropping it. The last thing he wanted to do after Delilah had shown him such hospitality was to break her things.
“It was nice, I like it cold. I like a lot of blankets. I slept really well, I might have to ask Jeremy if we can put it lower.”
He was quiet for a few seconds, reflecting on the fight as he filled up the glass.
He must not have been too begrudging because he continued, “But he likes to sleep in just about nothing, so I don’t think he’d be up for that.”
Myles sipped at the water; it wasn’t until the cool liquid had made it down his throat and he’d swallowed a few good gulps that he realized that maybe that wasn’t the last thing he wanted her to think about. He nearly choked on his water and drew the glass away, coughing for a few seconds.
“I don’t—what’s a poached egg? I only know scrambled and sunny-side-up. I eat anything though, I’m not picky. Thank you, though. I really appreciate everything you’re doing for me. I hope I’m not inconveniencing you too much. Do you need help or anything?”

There was no hiding the slight blush that appeared on her face as Delilah slowly turned back towards the pan and stove. She hoped maybe the heat rising off would make the blush seem less caused by picturing Jeremy naked and more off the fact that the stove was hot. To be honest, she doubted it would work. Clearing her though, Delilah turned to the egg carton and began cracking them into a bowl. "Scrambled it is." She felt her voice crack a moment. "Poached is when you basically like hard boiling them without the shell. You crack them into boiling water and cook the whites but the yolk stays runny. Mine just turn into a mess of floating egg pieces..." With zero flavor but she left that out as she added in a little milk. There was a pause as she dumped the mixture into the pan and listened to it sizzle. "Well, you can thank me if you still feel that way in a moment." Glancing over at the other end of the counter, Delilah eyed a white envelope she had put the money in Jeremy had thrusted at her. "Your brother sent that for you."

Myles was still trying to process how you could hard boil an egg without the shell when she handed him the envelope. He opened it and blinked at the money before hastily closing the envelope and putting it back on the table. “He did?” he asked. “—When did he do that?”
There seemed to be a lot of questions suddenly bubbling into his mind but he managed to try and focus on just a few: “What did he want me to do with this? –Do you want it? I don’t need this much to get home. I need like, two dollars, and I probably have that on me. Here,” he slid the envelope back to her. “I don’t know—what did you mean, if I still felt that way? Was I supposed to suddenly not be grateful for everything you’ve done for me?”
He seemed perplexed. “Just because you met up with my brother? –What happened, what did he say? Is he still mad?”

There was a long pause as Delilah turned down the heat on the eggs. She really didn't want to explain this to Myles with her back turned to him. Low should keep them from burning....or at least give her to seconds to smell them before they do. "Last night, after you fell asleep, I contacted your brother." She paused again, making sure to lift her face so he could see she meant no harm but she was visually apologizing. "I knew he had to be worried about you so I wanted to at least give him enough reason to not call out the SWAT team." She doubted she could have explained that one to the property managers. "Long story short, he sent you that money to be able to pay for things you need until you decided to go home." Sliding the envlope back across the counter, she left it in front of him. "I....I explained some things to him. Jeremy isn't mad Myles. He's worried about you and he's upset you didn't tell him. " "He needs time to process all of this. That we are both senshi and that we are not insane terrorist running around in crazy costumes. You gave him one heck of a scare." One hand reached out to his arm. "Jeremy loves you and just wants to protect you. What he needs to realize is you have a strength waiting to grow inside of you too."

Myles’ eyes flicked up to her when she turned to face him and it was clear that he expected the worst, despite the hopeful expression he still wore. He was quiet while she spoke and didn’t even seem mad to hear that she’d reached out to him. He didn’t ask questions about how or why—he just accepted it.
He didn’t reach for the money or shy away from her touch; instead, he just sat quietly and managed to nod.
Words were difficult to come by, but as the silence dragged on he realized he needed to say something.
“I didn’t know how to tell him. I didn’t know if he’d be able to listen, or if he’d understand,” he said slowly, trying to rationalize it. Truthfully, he hated keeping secrets. He didn’t want to. But if he’d told all of this to Jeremy upfront, would he have still reacted the same way? He might have tried to have Myles committed, or dragged him off to go get some drug test.
“…Does he want me to come home? I don’t want to get yelled at,” he added a few seconds later. “I didn’t mean to scare him. I just…I don’t want him to be mad at me.”
His voice was quiet, partially because it was hard to get any words out, and partially because it was the only way he knew he could keep his voice steady. Beneath the table, he tapped his foot on the ground to try and give himself something to focus on beyond the emotions twisting in his gut.

"When you are ready." Delilah answered softly, rising back up as she realized he was holding something back. In a way, she was worried he was about ready to run. The door was locked and if he went off the balcony. She wasn't going there. "I think he realizes he reacted poorly so he doesn't want to force anything. He knows you are alive and you are safe. That is enough for him right now. You can stay with me for as long as you need Myles." Stepping back, Delilah reached out to make sure the eggs had not been overcooked. "If you want my honest thoughts." She offered, whisking the spatula through them. "Jeremy would have never reacted well to the news. I have a feeling no matter how or when you told him, he would have overreacted. I can't blame you for not knowing how to say anything." Plating their breakfast, she continued. "He seems overprotective until beat over the head with reasoning."

Myles seemed to relax when Delilah finished speaking. He drew in a slow, steadying breath, and then nodded. “He’s a good guy, though,” he muttered; it wasn’t like what Delilah had said was in any way untrue, but he still seemed to feel like he needed to defend Jeremy.
“It’s just, I made some bad decisions before, so it’s not like I even blame him. I wouldn’t trust me, if I were him. And he’s a cop, so he sees the worst in people. And I know I just scared him.”
He sighed heavily and, though his head hung a bit, he still seemed to feel a little better. “I promise I won’t stay in your hair for long. I’ll go back today. Or maybe tomorrow. I don’t know. But you’ve been so kind to me already, I don’t want to trouble you. Maybe he’s had enough time to calm down, now? He’s really good at holding a grudge, but. He always did say he had a soft spot for me. And if I don’t go home for too long, he’ll get worried, and then he might just get more mad at me for worrying him.”
Myles’ brows were knit, but he chanced a hopeful smile. “So maybe tonight. And, if he’s still mad, I can just spend the night somewhere else, and then try again tomorrow.”

"You can come back and stay anytime Myles." Delilah offered, stepping back and sliding him over the eggs. "It's nice to have some company every now and then. Besides, sometimes we all need a place to crash." Leaning forward, Delilah smirked. "Just no craft making that smells please?"

Myles accepted the eggs with a sheepish smile. He laughed and shook his head before returning his gaze to Delilah’s. He felt better, though there were lines of worry still written across his face.
But, this was as good of a start as any, and the reservations he’d had before were slowly melting away.
“All right. I promise.”
Or, at least, he’d try.Sirene Naiads Fin sounds good to me! <3
