He had a key, he always had, but he’d never really decided to drop by the Jacob’s home without notice. Today however was a bit of an exception as Alexandre put the key to good use and let himself into the Jacob’s family home. Closing, and locking, the door behind himself he went to poke about.
He was doing some...undercover work? Well not really anything that dramatic but he did need ideas for Christmas gifts, he wanted to get the shopping for them done early and was hoping that snooping about might help him come up with ideas. Bending to undo his shoes he went to hang up his coat, and scarf, before heading further into the residence. He knew two other people lived here and he hoped not to run into them, or to at least not spook them, as he made toward the upstairs and where the bedrooms were. Lily’s room was not unknown to him, he’d slept in her bed more times than he could remember over the years. The two of them close friends, to the point he’d had to come out to her parents just so they didn’t think wrong things.
Smiling as he remembered that, remembered the times they had lived together and all the times they’d had sleep overs, he let his fingers trail up the banister as he climbed the stairs slowly. They had grown up - both of them but they were still close friends. He had moved out of the shared place they’d had. He’d gotten his own place, a double lot, and combined the two places. He had a boyfriend living with him and his elder cousin had moved in...he was an adult - damn. Time flew by fast. At least Lily was still in his life, still a friend, some things thankfully never changed.

She was suppose to be packing for the trip to England, the holiday ‘jaunt across the pond’ to visit with the elder Jacobs, technically her grandparents. Instead Dessie was sitting on her bed, staring out at the gray sky's that lay beyond her French doors, her fingers trailing over the strings of her guitar. She needed to make a decision soon. Time was running out but it broke her heart to have to make it. Either way she couldn't come back here. It would put them all at risk. Everyone was out shopping or working but not Dessie, she was trying to wrap her head around needing to leave before he followed through with his threats.
It was the season of peace and love, joy and light, but all the blond could think of was danger, pain, and blood. Lost in her own thoughts she started to strum the guitar. Soft at first but getting louder as the song truly started unaware that her bedroom door hadn't closed fully or that it had drifted open over time.
The melancholy strains of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven drifted through her room and out into the house as she contemplated her next move.

Surprised to hear music playing, Lily wasn’t home nor were her siblings from his best guess, he wondered who was behind the music he suddenly heard drifting from a few doors down. Well he knew the male who resided here, Ian, lived down in the basement and he was fairly certain he was not musically inclined. He assumed that no other people were spending the holidays here, as he knew the family was going off to England so why invite someone over, which meant Dessie?
Well, that was interesting. Making his way toward her room he peered in through the open door. Watching her fingers move over the strings and neck of the instrument. He knew the song, Lily had played it a few times in the past while he’d sit and paint in the same room. “Moonlight sonata?” He called out, only half questioning and more due to surprise over the brash blond playing it.
“A good piece.”

At the sound of a voice Dessie’s fingers slipped, jarring the strings and sending a discordant sound into the air. She quickly stilled the guitar with her palm as she turned her head to look at her door, a emotionless look on her face, only a stiff body gave away her surprise and even a spike of fear. Her heart thudded so hard in her, it felt like it would crawl out of her mouth and for a moment… for a split second… she didn’t see a short petite man who could easily pass as a woman, she saw a large hulk of a man who had her blond hair and her blue eyes. And then she blinked and it was Alex standing in her door way. It took her a moment more before she nodded slightly, she mentally wrangled with her pulse while her fingers gripped her guitar to keep them from shaking.
She knew her father wouldn’t show up here but still, when Alex had spoken she felt like he had been right there, watching her… listening to her play… bideing his time. She couldn’t tell what was a figment or real when she was out in the city any more, not really. Sometimes she would turn around and see him only to look back and it’s not him. The nightmares had been back for a while but to have her heart race when she saw blond hair… it wasn’t normal. None of this was normal.
Taking a bracing breath, Dessie looked down at her guitar and strummed it a few times watching as her shaking fingers steadied, slowly drifting into a much more modern song. One that required her focus, something to help center her. Halfway into the guitar rendition of Eric Claption’s Tears in Heaven she looked up and asked, even as she continued to play, “Why are you here Alex? Lily and Xander are out.” The last notes of the song faded she rested her hands on top of the body of the worn instrument, content to wait for his answer.

Watching her he tilted his head, he liked to think that he was good at reading people by now, and she looked...scared. But why? Then it seemed to pass, leaving just an echo of it in his mind. Had he scared her? Or had something else done it...but what? He decided, for now, not to say anything or go poking about for answers.
“How are you, Dessie?” He might as well go with the cliche ask how she’s doing, plus if something was up maybe he’d get another hint or more proof that something was amiss.
Stepping further into the room he sat himself on the floor, right at the foot of her bed, and staring up at the blond haired female. “I know, I’d hoped they wouldn’t be home. I’m hoping to snoop about and find ideas for Christmas gifts for them. I can’t very well go asking them, and a normal conversation will end in Lily figuring me out...or Rose. So I’m here to snoop and see if I find inspiration.” Keeping his voice low, as if someone could hear him who shouldn’t, though it was just the two of them up here on the second floor, he tilted his head at the blond then.
“Care to help?” He asked, smiling up at her, innocently enough...though he was not that innocent really.

Dessie shrugged, “Fine.” She wasn’t but she wasn’t about to tell him about it. She wouldn’t tell anyone about it let alone Alex or anyone else in the family. There was always the risk that they would try to stop her leaving which left them open to her father retaliating somehow. He would do something to make their lives a living hell so she needed to leave. She needed to run if only to get her father away from the Jacobs. “Should be packing but,” She shrugged and tapped the side of the guitar. She hadn’t felt like packing, she hadn’t wanted to face it since it would put her that much closer to the choice she needed to make.
She couldn’t help the smile that flashed across her face when Alex explained the reason he was here. It was almost like the first time they met, Alex wandering the empty house only to find that he wasn’t alone. With laughter in her voice, she nodded and said, “Sure. Why not.” Besides maybe she could get some ideas beyond the individual drawings she had done for them. She had done a portrait of the whole family in the comic style she drew in but this time she was going to give them fully colored personal drawings. Kind of something to remember her by for when she was gone.

“Family trip to England, right?” He asked when she mentioned packing. He knew about it, had known for a while, but he wouldn’t be going despite being a Jacobs in all but blood. He had his own home and his cousin living with him plus his partner, he wasn’t going to invite Aiden with him and force it on Lily and them though he doubted anyone would oppose it. He knew Aiden was likely to want to spend time with his family for the holidays and wasn’t going to take him from that, he might spend time with them as well.
“I can help if you’d like. You’ll like England, it’s nice. I went there with Lily a few years back.” He’d taken Johnathan with them...it had been nice. That had been so long ago and so much had happened...Johnathan was a youma now...because he’d ******** up….did he even remember the trip?
“Good, then let's snoop about together and see what dirty things we can find as well.” He said giving her a wink and a bright smile. He might be a mature adult but he was still the youngest sibling, sort to speak, and snooping about for dirty things to tease or blackmail them about was something he would do. He was not as prudish as he often seemed to be, how could he be? He’d been dating the same person for over a year now...there was no way things had not happened in that year, especially when Aiden was living with him. He just didn’t talk about it since no one asked him, no one put him on the spot.

“Yeah. We will be coming back after the new year, like last year.” The trip last year had been a true experience for Dessie and this would be her last so she had to make it count. She didn’t want there to be any regrets beyond the ones that she already had, she wanted to leave Xander and the others with good memories that wouldn’t be overshadowed by what she was planning. Her packing wasn’t only for this trip but also for her leaving, she wanted to have everything ready to go so she could slip away in the post holiday confusion while the city was full of people still visiting and enjoying the time before school picked back up. It was also the time when she had the most freedom since there were no teachers to note her absence, just family.
Family. It was a strange word. A word she had fought against using for so long. She didn’t even know when she had started to use it in respects to the Jacobs. She wasn’t sure at what point did she care about what they thought, what they felt, what they wanted. And now that was coming back to bite her in the a**. Dessie knew getting attached would be a bad thing, it always was. So she was leaving for their own good, and hers as well…. She didn’t have a choice. Honestly if she could have begged off of the trip it would be the perfect time to slip away but that would ruin the holiday for them and she couldn’t do that to them.
“What? Oh, no, no, I got it Alex.” She snapped out of her quiet reflection unaware of the sad look she had just hidden, once more showing an amused yet distant appearance. “Besides I do believe our tastes are quite different. I think you would go into a fit if you had to wear a pair of no brand jeans.” Dessie smiled as she gently teased the other, “As for the ‘dirty things’ you want to find I would think Rose’s room would be the best spot to start. Lily would likely kill you if she caught you snooping and Xander doesn’t likely have anything worth hiding.” That wasn’t quite true, they all had something worth hiding but it wasn’t anything that they would have to worry about finding. Afterall being a senshi did have a few perks, granted they weren’t that great but they were better than nothing, and she had more secrets than the others combined.

“Ah, I forgot you went last year. I would have gone as well but I’ve been busy...This yeah I just don’t want to pull Aiden away from his family.” They would both spend some time with the others family and spend some of the holiday time together. The holidays would even, maybe, be spent with his own family...dividing that many ways would be messy but...possible. He just didn’t like spending it with his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Laughing he nodded his head as he plopped down onto Dessie’s bed. “You're right -I likely would. I just fear the day Aiden looks up the price tags on my jeans. He knows I spend a lot...but I don’t think he has a clue.” He stated with a smile twitching his lips upward. “Same goes for underwear...I have a feeling he might faint.” More than a bit of a feeling really. No one wanted to see the price tags on his clothing - no one. “I could take you out shopping if you want….we could do some of your typical clothing...and then let me take you for more expensive things?” He offered up with a light smile.
“No...Xander is as pure as snow...you’d think there would be more to find on him given his age...but no.” He said shaking his head. He might be a prude himself but even he wasn’t as pure as Xander, hadn’t been in a long while. That wasn’t even counting being in the Negaverse, though that did add to it. Xander was just...pure...there was no other way to put it really.
“Lily would be pissed but not likely kill me. I just know she’d return the favor.” Which meant hiding a few things...his book on senshi and knights among other thing. He really should hide that anyway, under his mattress really wasn’t the best spot to hide it. He’d figure out a new place...soon.
“Alright, so then Rose’s room I suppose.” Getting up he headed off to see the eldest sister's room. “Come along Dessie - it’s time to snoop about the big sister's room.” And out Dessie’s door he went, headed for Rose’s room.
