Taking a deep breath, Lieutenant Angelite stared out at the nearby water.

It had taken some time to find a secluded spot, but on the outskirts of the city lay a calm, peaceful lake that, thanks to the chilly month of March, continued to be unoccupied by human activity. Now and again she would hear a noise in the forest, squirrels and deer alike both seemingly intrigued by the stranger's appearance.

Her little Volkswagen Beetle was safely tucked away behind a brush nearly half a mile down the path, far enough away to keep her license plate from being associated with her Negaverse self. Couldn't have people putting two and two together.

Gripping the crystal tightly in her palm, she brought it close to her face and willed the power to come to life within the purple rock.

"Requesting General Cinnabar's attention."

She gave her coordinates before ceasing communication, tucking the crystal back in the subspace where it belonged. It would have been much easier to pursue the General in the Negaspace itself, but finding herself limited by her rank's abilities, Angelite decided to create her own meeting space.

Only time would tell if the General would grace her with her presence.

It was always a surprise when her crystal came alive with the voice of someone wanting her specifically. At least, one that wasn't involved in the operations she still struggled to carry out, despite her... ailment. The woman speaking was vaguely familiar, but that was only a passing consideration before the half-youma rose to answer the call.

The lights of the city were a glow off to the left when she pulled herself back into reality, landing balanced on her tall boots with her arms loose at her sides. She took in the area with a sweep of her eyes, red in a sea of black, before the tense muscles relaxed and her hands found a comfortable home in her pockets.

"Angelite." She addressed the dark haired woman as she turned towards her, reassured there wasn't any immediate danger around them. This was no ambush, though it was a bit... strange to get called out somewhere for a one-on-one meeting. "You rang?"

A little smirk curled up the corner of her mouth, dark eyebrows high, and a slow swish of her tail spoke of the attention now focused on the other woman.

Cinnabar was an intimidating woman when standing among an army of agents but standing alone, she continued to retain her menacing aura, perhaps even moreso. Angelite found herself immediately feeling as though she were shrinking in comparison to the formidable power in front of her and it proved a momentary struggle to contain her composure against the half-youma General.

"General."

The acknowledgement was met with a respectful nod before the Lieutenant proceeded. "I apologize for interrupting your day, but after a discussion with my superior, I felt it necessary to request your assistance in a...project."

Small talk was for friends and although Angelite was certainly relieved to know this woman was on her side of faction lines, she was hesitant to being anything more than cordial to the General, less she waste her time any more than she already had. Cinnabar had insinuated interest in her own General, Obsidian, so it was with that hope that Angelite was eager to involve the other woman in her plottings.

"Laurelite has given me the green light, but I fear I'm not....adequate enough when it comes to controlling some of the Negaverse's subjects."

The scowl that accompanied the hesitation was evident; Angelite did not enjoy being as powerless as she currently was. Nor did she enjoy asking for help - help generally came with a cost, as she'd noted with her deal with two belligerent Chaos Mauvians already.

The struggle was half expected and pleasing, earning a twitch of red lips in a self-satisfied sort of smirk to see it. Intimidation was a sweet flavor, stroking her ego till she purred. Cinnabar might have savored it longer, but the mention of a project drew her attention, the smirk fading to something more serious.

Suddenly, she was all business, her shoulders squared and spine straight, head cocked just slightly to the side as she listened. Laurelite... the name drew dark brows together, but she skimmed pas the name, focusing instead on the need expressed.

Controlling some of the Negaverse's subjects... That did bring the smirk back and heavy shoulders rolled in a shrug as chains rattled.

"Do you mean the youma, or other officers? Not that I can't command either, but one has more of a compulsion to obey than the other, and both could be commanded by any General." Her tail flicked as she shifted her weight and the half-youma swept closer, settling into a more comfortable distance with a hip cocked. "So why call on the Negavere's monstery glass canon? What sort of project could benefit from someone like me?"

Probably the kind that calls for a lot of blood and violence. That's the usual fare... unless its for energy draining? What an interesting idea... She hadn't had much cause to put those particular skills to use since she'd been promoted.

"My General's tactics are not ones that tend to... sit well, with others." Angelite mused softly, recalling some earlier exchanges with Obsidian and some of their other coworkers. If Cinnabar was the glass canon for the Negaverse, the redheaded man was the wild ace - unpredictable, yet holding enough power to keep him intimidating. "Though he finds himself currently held up with several powerful beings at this time and has little to spare for our other necessary involvements."

Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a glimmering crystal amulet and dangled it for the General to admire. It pulsed with power, slivers of moonlight lighting up the gem in sparkles.

"I would be willing to give you credit in this project, should you aid me in overseeing the production and execution."

Reward now offered, it was time to make her request.

"I know you have several under your command that could prove useful as we put the finishing touches on the building and, erm... staffing. I could give you more detail if you'd permit me to explain it further in depth... in safer quarters, of course."

in other words, Angelite was requesting a ride to the Negaspace.

She really hated being such a weakling.

Whatever tension had been hiding in the lines of Cinnabar's face melted away and her smirk grew wider. So Obsidian put people off, did he? So they came to her, out of the others, as one who would not mind these 'tactics' he employed. It wasn't the worst reason to be singled out... and whether it was good or not that they thought her values aligned with Obsidian's, she was kind of flattered to be called on.

Whatever.

Sweeping her thoughts aside, she focused on the dangling crystal, her head tilting the other way to give a better view. Where the power in it came from, she didn't know, but it was an interesting little bauble, for sure. Her gaze slid up the outstretched arm to Angelite's face and she chuckled low in her throat.

"I don't have anyone under my command any more, but I still know people who can help us out. I think I'm interested in hearing more about this little plan of yours and Obsidian's." The half-youma nearly purred it as she dropped her hands out of her pockets and stepped forward. She was bold as she wrapped an arm around the smaller woman's waist, her hand coming to rest on her hip. Despite the gesture, the touch was chaste and all she did was pull the other a little closer. Her rooms would make a fine places to talk business.

"It sounds like fun." She murmured, before she ripped the pair of them out of Destiny City, popping in again in the dimness of Negaspace and the Citadel.
