User ImageThere was a really handsome Lyra stallion by the oasis he was blue and had amazing desings on his coat like some of the carpets the royal's sat on. And Vutha Tried getting his attention but she got his attention alright... but not the attention she's wanted she failed.

Failed Again! Another stallion ended up running away from her. What had she done wrong? She couldn't understand. She'd watched her father woo many mares (Secretly of course.) And once she'd gotten up the courage she asked her father for pointers. He'd always said they were beautiful both Vutha and her sister Ngal. Vutha treaded water in place she turned from the direction she'd seen the stallion run off. Vutha was disheartened, she was beautiful she had a lovey well kept mane, shiny and of course polished ebony scales, her claws and teeth were white as snow. Vutha had too covered herself in the beautiful Jewelery her father had brought her.

She'd been really happy to come to A'D and meet her father. he was such a wonderful stallion and he took such good care of them. He always brought them Souvenirs every time he came home! Though, it seemed stallions still liked to avoid her, and looked at her like she was super intimidating or something.

She sighed rejected, sniffling Vutha began to cry moving toward the shore. It wasn't fair, she just wanted to be like her father he was such an amazing stallion. He didn't have just one love either he had many, lots of women loved him because he was thoughtful, told amazing stories, he was kind and caring and.. why couldn't it be the same for her? She wanted everyone to love her like that too.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Rug was struggling now with an emotion he did not often experience: shame.

Why had he run away from the...star in the water? (It had to be a star, nothing that large could be anything but a star.) Rug didn't want to think about it, but when he got right down to it, it was pretty simple why he had run away. Oh, he could claim it was for some other reason. He could claim that it was because he had trespassed onto the territory of the local herd, Anuyidan'Danayi, to which he did not belong. He could claim that the warriors of that herd had a reputation for aggression and wielding not only sharp hooves and powerful legs, but also for carrying long, curved scimitars (which seemed like overkill to Rug, but who was he to judge? ...Oh, right). They were fast, and they had good stamina--they could chase you for days. None of them could fly, mind you--well, some members of the herd could, but not the fighters. He could have gotten away without too much fuss.

So no, he hadn't fled the oasis because he had been afraid of being caught by guardians of the oasis. He'd run away because as he'd been grazing, a large creature with a scaly face and enormous horns had risen out of the water and he had fled from it, startled by its sudden and terrifying appearance. It was only later that his nose reported that the creature in the water had been a Star--and a mare at that.

Rug should have known better. He was a well-traveled Star. He knew about Novae (his daughters were Novae), and he had heard stories about Solara covered in scales. With the horns, she probably had algiedi ancestry as well.

She probably knew some amazing stories.

Rug loved stories. And he missed having friends. And he shouldn't have run from her like that. A mare could get bad ideas about herself and about the world around her if too many people ran away from her.

That evening, when he was certain that the patrols had passed and it was safe, he returned to the edge of the oasis, near the water where he had last seen the mare. He laid down by the water's edge and waited, hoping she would return. He wouldn't be able to apologize to her--not verbally, anyway--but he hoped that just being here would suffice. He'd just have to hope.

Vutha was staying underneath the water quietly sulking. The rejection from earlier still stung and when she was underwater it was harder to tell she'd been crying. Maybe it was better to stay under the water she hadn't gone far from where she'd been earlier. She wished her father was here, he always knew what to say to cheer her up. he was away though on one of his journeys so...

Vutha blinked gazing at the shore, the stallion she'd scared had come back. Why? Maybe he hadn't been as scared as he looked? she wasn't sure. Maybe he wanted to apologize? But maybe she should take it slower this time? Dad was super good at all that stuff. he said it was because he had years more practice.

So, Up came Vutha, a bit excited she popped only her face out of the water looking unintentionally like some crocodile. Vutha figured she looked Mysterious or cute! Hehe.

"Hey there, again." she smiled her toothy draconic grin.

Just as Rug suspected she would, the strange star returned. She was definitely a star, even if her face was very odd. Between the fins, the horns, and the wings, she definitely seemed to be a Solara/Algiedi/Nova. There was supposed to be a very active Nova stallion in the area, a real Casanova--maybe that was her father? It certainly seemed like a possibility. Who knows. What he did know was that he was definitely looking at a star, and a female one at that, right now.

His other early impression of her had been correct as well--she was very--intimidating. She was big, she was toothy, and there was something of a skull in the shape of her head. Then again...

Then again, looking scary did not mean she was a bad or even suspicious person. She could have quite a wonderful personality, and it would be impossible to tell from just looking. Besides. The way she sat in the water was really quite cute. She looked like a mermaid with her head held like that.

Rug couldn't talk at all. He couldn't make any sort of vocalization, so he couldn't say hello to her until he had figured out a way to teach her sign language. But he could still smile. He could still say hello with his body. So he did. He smiled at her and moved a little closer to her. He didn't flare his wings out, but he didn't keep them tucked in close to his body. He kept them relaxed to show that he, too, was relaxed. And that he was listening for whatever she had to say to him.

Vutha was so excited, he didn't run away! She was really happy! He even came closer and he didn't seem like he was going to run away. Maybe she really was alluring. She never thought she'd get this far ever, she'd wanted to but the draconic hybrid always seemed to fail.

She popped right out of the water in her excitement setting her massive claws firmly in the sand and pulling herself partially out of the water not thinking her claws might be a terrifying deterrent "I'm Vuthavoreirthos you can call me Vutha!" she smiled though once again her smile was rather terrifying. More so now that she was fully revealed. Though she kept her wings laying flat against the sand and still partially in the water. They actually doubled as and extra pair of fins when she was swimming.

"What's you're name?" she asked the quiet stallion

Rug flinched when she set her claws out on the ground. Oh my, what claws, what claws...they were very big and very sharp, and Rug couldn't help but imagine what she could do to a Star with those claws... But Rug forced himself to relax, forced his legs to relax and his wings to settle back down close to his body and his ears to point forward again. She had startled him, but he did not want to be afraid of her. He just wanted to make her feel welcome, and as if she wasn't frightening him...which she was, but again, he didn't want to be afraid. He was sure that the more he talked to her, the more calmed down he would get, and the less she would frighten--or startle--him.

Well...not "talk to," obviously. Rug shrugged at her question about his name, but he nodded and smiled at her name. He reached out with a hoof and hooked it gingerly around one of her claws, lifting her paw up so he could touch her claws with the tip of his nose, then set her paw back down. Vuthavoreirthos...yes, he would think of her as Vutha, it was much simpler. He admired her big onyx and amethyst wings. He wondered if they made it harder for her to swim through the water, or easier, and how a Nova could fly without getting dried out. Well, okay, he could ask his daughters about that... Regardless, he settled back down and tilted his head at her. Her razor-sharp claws and mouth full of pointed teeth aside, her demeanor screamed friendly young lady, and he was determined to treat her as such. She was a friendly young lady, and he was making a friend. He fidgeted with his tassel a bit and let her fill in the conversation however she wanted to.
