The night had proven colder than expected, but Bob had sealed his fate with the decision to retreat into the alley, distancing himself from the vicious chocolate senshi with what felt like a steel-toed boot.

Once in the alley, it hadn't been hard to find a discarded box to use as shelter. What had been difficult was trying to keep the oncoming snow out of said shelter, especially with the back of the box having a sliver of an opening near the top. Discovering some newspaper, damp from the wet snow, had proven useful to patch up the opening as the wet material stuck against the soggy container.

Huddled in the box, he used his own body heat and fur to keep himself warm as long ears listened to the sound of snow falling outside his temporary refuge. The weather was quiet, flurries gently floating on top of one another until a good several inches of snow had piled up, inch on top of each other. He didn't know when he finally fell asleep - but it happened. Blissful, welcoming sleep to keep his mind off his aching stomach and the bruised rib that had come from the impromptu interaction with the young man only hours prior.

Even for the years that Brioche wandered around as a simple normal cat, he was a kind one. The streets were always cruel and cold during the winter, and even the tiniest of bit of warmth could be the differences between life and death. So familiar he was with that knowledge that even now, after his eyes had been opened, he made the rounds he always did in the snow, looking for those who may have needed assistance in such dreary weather.

For a while, there was no one, the only sound that was the soft, nearly silent crunch of snow beneath his feet and the small bag he dragged alongside himself. He wasn't a St. Bernard, but he still liked to keep a small amount of extra food with him, just incase he found a kitten or two who needed some help. He was close to giving up his outing when there was a small blip within his mind, someone chaos related... Normally, he'd just stray away, not wanting trouble, but... For someone to be out in this mess...? It had him worried enough to go about, to see if there was some victim he could help.

To his surprise, it was another Mauvian like himself, raggedy and shivering in the cold within a box that only barely seemed to to keep the snow off. Some how he managed to get to sleep in this mess... He must be hurt, Brioche concluded, slipping off his hat to put on the other carefully, then placing his bag infront of the opening to try to keep the other's own heat within. Even if the other Mauvian was Chaos bound, Brioche could not simply let him suffer like this, so he did his best to try to make the little shelter a bit better.

First, he cleared the snow from the top, pulling a few slanted pieces of cardboard over it so the snow would slide off instead of pile ontop. and potentially crush the hurt one. Then, he covered the opening all but a sliver, to keep the cold air out. His bag of food and a water bottle provided a decent amount of coverage for now, and left him in the box beside the other. That was the last bit. Brioche curled about the injured cat, doing his best not to move him any, and laid his immensely fluffy tail about the one who slept, his head close to the others and tucking in so that were the other to move, he could provide support.

There was no telling what sort of reaction Brioche would get when the other woke, but atleast, for now, he wouldn't die from a chill. Brioche was nothing if not fluffy and warm. He would willingly lay here by the other's side until he was fit enough to move. Even those drenched in Chaos still deserved not to die from something as preventable as hypothermia.

His dreams shifted.

Thoughts of wandering around, lost in a bitter, cold world morphed into soft, warm comfort. No longer did fear and pain chase him around every corner, but he found himself relaxing among fluffy, soft clouds without a care in the world. It was this comforting thought that he awoke to, emerald eyes fluttering open slowly as he let out a long, sleepy yawn.

His vision was fuzzy for just awakening, which is probably why he failed to immediately notice the enormous ball of fluff pressed up against him. Instead, he struggled to recognize the darkened environment surrounding him - he was in a box... why was he in a box and why was it suddenly cold a....oh!

Ears snapped up the moment he remembered what had happened. His shoulders straightened, but the Mauvian remained where he lay, the soreness in his chest still radiating pain with even the most gentle of movements. It was only then that he noticed the beast that was laying beside him and the nauseating aura that practically dripped off of his furry form.

"W-What are you doing?"

The jerk backwards was instinctive. It was a Guardian of the other faction and he needed to get away. His mouth curved around into a snarl from the pain that jolted through him at the sudden motion, one paw moving up to protectively cover his chest. He continued to stare at the other tom cat, suspicion in his gaze. "What do you want? Aren't there plenty of other boxes for you to invade around here?"

Brioche, himself, had begun to doze slowly, though the other was chilled, he was no less cozy to curl up against. Maybe he wasn't as clean and properly fluffed as Brioche was, but another cat always felt more comfortable than being in the arms of a human. It was that exact sort of warmth that made his mind at ease. Atleast until he was gently coaxed awake by the other's yawn. For just a moment, he pressed his nose closer to the other's neck, whining about something being awake too soon, yet before he could be comfortable again, the other bolted away.

It always took a while for him to awake, so he let the other fuss and hiss at him, before he stood up slowly, stretching, before padding over to his bag. undoing a hook on the bag and pulling out a small back of jerky, some crackers, and a bottle of water. It wasn't much, but it looked like the kinda things that the other cat would wish to eat. Didn't really seem like the kind who would appreciate some tuna or something of that sort. After the food was set out, he backed away to the other side of the box, turning his back to the other and curling up into a fluffy ball, wanting to seem as least threatening as possible.

"You're hurt, and I wished to help... That is all. I did not wish to invade, I only wished you not to die..." Brioche's voice was calm and patient, tail swishing slowly, as if he had done this a million times before. In a way, he had, though no cats were quite like the one he shared company now. This one reeked of chaos and smelled slightly of Alchohol, and though it made Brioche's fur stand on end, it did not keep him from his desire to help.

"It would not fit one as you to die like this... Please, eat and let me stay to keep you warm until you are well again. I mean no harm at all."

His eyes remained narrowed as he watched the cat's movements, suspicious of his intent the entire time. His back arched and the hair spiked as the cat opened the bag... only to pull out some rations of sorts. Water. Crackers. Jerky of some kind, maybe? It was dehydrated and looked like jerky, but...

Bob listened as the Order cat explained his intentions, moving towards the other side of the box to allow him additional space. Now that he was away from the food, the large Mauvian took the opportunity to investigate it further. He'd... he'd brought him food? But why?

Not one to question food, of all things, one claw plucked up a sliver of jerky and brought the piece of meat to his lips. It didn't take long for his teeth to rip apart the bit and swallow it, the salty meat causing his stomach to rumble even more at the realization that he hadn't eaten in nearly twelve hours.

He ate the meat in silence, the only sound coming from the water bottle that he managed to puncture, the tom cat leaning down to lap at the water spouting out from the hole.

Finally, he had the graciousness to at least identify himself.

"Thanks, I guess. I'm Bob, by the way." His arm shifted, straying away from his aching chest. "One of yours cornered me last night. The time must have...slipped away. Or something."

Brioche kept his head turned away from the other in the moments that followed after he presented the small meal, waiting patiently before he was addressed again. His already flat ears pressed more against his head in a submissive fashion, wanting to let the other tomcat know that he was willing to leave him in charge for now. There was no reason to fight, not in this weather and not with the other already hurting as badly as he was.

The smell of the jerky quickly filled the box they shared and Brioche allowed the barest of smiles to grace his little kitty face, extremely satisfied at the other's will to take what was given to him. Food would help with the recover from... Whatever it was that was plaguing the raggedy looking cat. Upon finally being addressed, he slowly rose to his feet, only to shift around to face the other before he resumed his position of being a fluffy ball of a thing.

"Bob." He repeated back, such a plain name on his tongue feeling strange. He was far more used to names that were filled with exoticism and wonder, so Bob seemed rather lackluster. Then again, it fit him rather well, all things considered.

"I'm Brioche. And if by one of mine, you refer to a senshi, then I deeply apologize... It is not fair at all for them to prey on someone such as yourself... It seems cruel given size and power differences between us and them... I know it's not much, but I offer what I can to help... The snow is thick and heavy outside... Will you allow me to stay here by your side for warmth tonight?" Brioche had a small place he called home right now, a little place in the park where the snow and wind couldn't get in, and the steam from a nearby man hole cover came and wafted over his place leaving it cozy, but this tomcat truly looked like he could hardly move.

"I truly do not wish for anything else but to help... Were you to permit me to do so. If you wish me to leave, then, I'll be on my way."

"Brioche? Like the..."

He shook his head, dismissing the thought as one paw moved up to nonchalantly adjust his lopsided, creased tie. Straightening it up as he'd watched his human companion do so many times before, he pressed one paw against the tattered fabric and smoothed it downwards. It didn't help much, but it was a habit Bob had formed when he needed to think.

Bun-boy was right about the snow. It was pretty horrible outside - judging by the freezing temperatures and the weight of snow dipping down onto the box's shambled roof. But was he going to subject himself to another evening of living in this dump... and with a fluffy Order male for companionship?

Green eyes spied the water bottle's dying spurt, the water that Brioche had kindly provided now flooding the floor of their temporary shelter.

No. No, it wasn't going to work. There had to be other options.

"I may look more scraggly than I am, friend." He limped his way towards the remaining snacks, one paw moving to scoop them back into the bag before dragging it towards the other feline. No sense in leaving free food behind, after all. "But I know we can probably find a place close by to take a nap in."

He didn't even know what time it was. Talk about discombobulating.

"Do you know of any joint around that would take us in? Abandoned buildings would even be a step up from this..." One paw waved towards the decaying box as he winced from the quick motion. "...place."

"Yes, like the bread." His tail just swished lightly at the connection, glad that it wasn't followed by jokes of butter and toast as some were prone to do. It was curious to watch Bob fiddle with his tie that copied the movements of a human, and he wasn't entirely against it. After all, he rather liked playing copycat when he wasn't in mortal danger. In his own movements of contemplation, he fiddled with his hat pulling it further onto his head to cover his ears. The were tiny, curled little things but they grew chilly with any other bit of him.

Ah... The thought of the mess the chaos cat made hadn't crossed his mind, given that he hadn't seen it until a moment ago and almost frowned. Was he such an animal that he did not know how to open a bottle? That was neither here nor there.

"Thank you." Brioche slipped the pack back onto his back, considerably lighter now that the water had spilled all over the ground. What a waste... But it was certainly for a good cause. A concerned sound escaped his throat as Bob limped around and he saw the wince, finding himself just wanting to curl up around the other again and make sure he was safe. Surely doing that now would earn him a scratch on his nose, no doubt, so he refrained, choosing instead to ponder the thought of where they might go.

"I know of a few, but some we cannot go... The old woman who lives nearby only brings in kittens, and the baker has closed up shop early due to the snow... We can try the old tavern down the way, if you're feeling up to it... we can get in, and if the coals are still warm, we can light a fire and stay there until morning. Are you able to walk? It's a few blocks... If you cannot, I can pull you along in the snow on top of something, if you wish..."

Tavern? Now they were getting somewhere.

"That sounds like a terrific place," Bob conceded honestly, thoughts of whiskey and rum warming his insides as a roaring fire took care of drying and heating up his fluffy outer coat. Hopefully such a place wouldn't mind a couple of 'strays' such as themselves wandering in - he could see a bar owner being less interested in the appearance of a cat than an older lady or a store owner, but they'd have to figure out what to do once they actually arrived at the place.

Pushing forward, he suppressed the wince that kept trying to reappear on his face as he made his way outside the semi-warmth of the box and into the blistering cold outside. Paws touched snow and he hesitated for a brief moment before thrusting himself out, leaving a trail of snowy pawprints in his wake.

"As much as a chariot sounds appealing, Brioche my friend, I think I'll be able to manage."

His smile was genuine as he turned back to the Order feline, eyebrows rising as he waited on the other. "You may just have to take it a little bit slow, for this old man. Lead on, when you're ready!"

Brioche's eyes lit up as the other seemed to approve of his selected haven, and he gave an approving nod. Worry did seem to come over his fuzzy face as the other freed himself from the box and let the cold back in, but luckily he seemed quite the trooper and stepped out. The smiled that was received was reciprocated with a sheepish one of his own, unused to actual gratefulness for his actions.

"I am not so young myself, you know." He immediately trotted after him, smiling, then it seemed to settle down after watching It wasn't the most pleasant thing to witness, especially given how injured the other seemed, but Brioche wouldn't take offense to the decline for help. A man had his pride, after all.

That all being said, Brioche still came close to the other, trying not to invade his space too much but desiring to still offer as much of his warmth as he could.

"It is not too far." he said softly, not wanting his voice to carry too much in the echo prone alley, just in case the violent senshi that had hurt Bob was still lingering nearby, unpowered and waiting. Even were it another one of his Order senshi, he would not allow them to harm someone already injured, especially not one as helpless at the other cat, since when it came down to it, they were nearly powerless against the soldiers if they truly wanted to cause harm.

Slowly but surely he guided Bob towards the tavern, doing his best to make it there with minimal jumping and turning about. Once they arrived, it was dark and silent, with the hour of normal patronage long since passed. There was a doggie door on the back door of the place, The Fiddler's Green but Brioche knew from experience that the door had gone unused for a long time.

"Just follow me.." He whispered softly to the other, pressing his nose against his neck in a reassuring manner before slipping inside.

Instantly a sweet and lingering warmth hit his fur, and it was only a few moments before the snow that had stuck to him melted away. As quickly as he could, he made his way to the darkening fireplace that was tucked away in the corner and he did what he could to get the flame rolling again, dragging a log from the side and placing it on the coals. With enough fanning with his tail, the log caught, and further warmth radiated from it's source.

Brioche sat back on his legs, proud of what he had done, and beckoned Bob closer, so that he could warm up too.

"That went smoothly..." his words were soft, nearly a whisper. Though the owners were sleeping and wouldn't mind waking up to find a pair of cats lounging by the fire, a pair of talking ones might be a little more suspicious. The last thing he wanted was to have to flee with Bob in tow because they were too loud. "I've been here several times before, so if there's anything you'd like, name it, and I will do my best to get it for you. You really should just rest."

Ghouliboo
Brioche is canonly an older cat, being maybe mid -30ish Human years. Just really oddly affectionate with everyone. Fat old-ish happy cat. Sadly, his art does not reflect this at all. XD

While Bob did not particularly care for another male cat to keep as close as Brioche did, he accepted the warmth as... well, there wasn't much choice otherwise. He'd lost his opportunity to be pampered in some little teenager's home for the day, so he was stuck relying on this other cat's help to keep himself from getting frostbitten in the cold, dreary weather that it was.

He'd never frequented The Fiddler's Green, despite having seen the sign in passing a time or two. Finding himself surprised at the sight of a dog door, Bob tucked away that little piece of information for future reference. A new joint made for a new refuge when times ever got hard.

The large cat sat and watched with mild interest as the other feline labored to make the fire come to life in the corner of the room. Had he been a decent excuse for a Mauvian, he would have offered to help - but Bob was content in simply watching the older cat work.

Eyes flickered over to the fat fuzzball as he made another generous offer towards Bob, but the Maine Coon was more intent on curling up in front of the warmth that was already engulfing him in a blanket of drowsiness. Letting off a large yawn, his own tail darted to the side as he took a few steps forward, then practically collapsed as he flopped over a few feet in front of the fire.

"I think a good nap is in order - boxes can only provide so much sleep, y'know?"

Kapoodles
That just makes him all the more endearing <333

Once it was decided that Bob would rather rest than anything else, Brioche nodded, finding his way to sit beside Bob probably a little too close, but he was content. Legs tucked under him loaf style was enough to warm his paws, and his tail swished back and forth every now and then while keeping an eye out for their surroundings.

"Well then I bid you a good rest. I'll keep an eye out for now, to make sure there are no more attacks or what not. I do hope you feel better when you wake, and if not, come morning, I know of a place where strays can go get checked out." Whether or not they'd keep Bob for an extra scrub or two was another thing, but he figured the other didn't need to worry about that right now.

Though more words danced on his tongue, for once Brioche decided to remain silent, choosing to just watch the flames dance as his companion slept. Hopefully the morning would come in as quietly as the snow fell.
