Spring was in the air and she was excited about this mainly because she could wear less layers now. She hadn't exactly liked being bogged down by so many cloths so having light layers was a very exciting thing. Currently she was walking through the botanical gardens. While most of the plants were newly budding still it was a nice place regardless. It was peaceful and had a serene feel to it. Stopping at one particular display she took a seat on one of the benches and pulled out her notebook and started writing. While she wasn't good at sketching, writing was something she was decent at. At least she liked to think so. Right now she was just journaling and drawing a couple of doodles in the borders. Looking up for a moment she looked around to see how many others had decided to come to the gardens today and it didn't look like it was that many. Which she was alright with, it was a nice day for being by herself though she wouldn't mind interaction if someone came along. WC: 182

Spring. It was the time of year when everything that slumbered began to find renewed life. Trees released new leaves, flowers began to poke up from the ground and everything around seemed to have a young energy to it. Spring was the time of year when people began to ache to free themselves from their winter blues and get rid of that cabin fever. Some took to shopping centers, others took strolls through parks, but some found themselves aching for a more mature spring.
Gwen was one of the latter. She loved spring as it meant the end to winter and the promise of warmer days to come, but the young spring outside wasn’t what she yearned for. So, to ease the ache, she had donned a light, cream colored, spring sweater, jeans, and short tan booties and had gone to immerse herself in the botanical gardens with sketchpad in hand. She was on the hunt for some interesting blooms to sketch but so far, many were still tightly encased. A few smaller clusters had unraveled and were showing some color and, though it hadn’t been what she had hoped for, it was still a welcomed sight.
A display of purple clustered flowers caught her attention. The color was vivid and spoke to the red-head. In fact, she was going to perch herself on a nearby bench to begin sketching when she caught sight of another woman. Walking over she smiled at her. “Mind if I share the bench with you. It has the best view of those flowers there.” She nodded towards the flowers of interest. wc: 267

As she enjoyed the quiet the morning had to offer she noticed a shadow and then a voice and she looked towards the red haired woman with pale skin. Man, she must burn something fierce in the sun! She kept those thoughts to herself but offered a warm smile and nodded her head. "I don't mind at all! Please have a seat." She scooted over a little and offered the spot with a wave of her hand. "They are very lovely today." Her gaze fell upon them and she looked back towards her and extended her hand in greeting. "I'm Accalia, what is your name?" She asked her curiously.

Smiling, Gwen made herself comfortable in the space vacated and appreciated the slight warmth that came with her new seat, courtesy of her bench mate. With her sketchpad on her lap she fished out the pencil she had brought with her from her purse before depositing the bag on the ground under the bench by her feet.
"Yea, they're really pretty. I wasn't sure if there would be a lot of blooms yet or not, but I got lucky." She said as she flipped to an open page in her sketchbook before turning to the girl. "I am Gweneth, but feel free to just call me Gwen."
Pushing a piece of hair back behind her ear she glanced back at the purple blooms as she tried to pick a cluster that looked aesthetically pleasing before roughly beginning to sketch a guide for herself. Meanwhile, she kept up conversation. "So, are you here to just enjoy the flowers too? I got a touch of spring fever and needed to get away from the cold outside. A little early spring was exactly what I needed."

She was pleased someone else was out and about enjoying the weather and flowers like she was. Not that being alone was utterly lonely, it was one of those things that you make it what it is. "It's surprising when flowers decide to bloom." She chuckled and watched her open her sketchbook. "I'm Accalia, It's nice to meet you Gwen." Her voice was warm and welcoming and she returned her gaze back to the flowers. "I was just out enjoying the weather," She looked back towards her. "It was such a nice day, figured it would be a nice break from the cold." Not that she had an issue with the cold, she quite liked it and missed living in the north. "What are you drawing?" She asked curiously, not wanting to sound super nosey.

Not so curious, Gwen thought to herself. After all, flowers could be determined to flower within certain periods depending on the type of flower they were. Some blossomed in spring, other summer, even fall and winter. It really just depended on where the flora hailed from and if the right conditions were met. But, she wasn't about the bring up her nerdy knowledge of flowers here. Most likely she'd be looked upon as haughty and a know-it-all for pointing such things out. Instead she commented on her drawing. "I am just doing some sketches of the flowers. Nothing too interesting, really. There was just a need to get out of the apartment and enjoy the day. So, here I am." She offered another smile as she turned her attention to the flowers to do a few quick sketchy marks to pan out how she was going to lay the sketch out. "So you came out just to sit and enjoy the flowers? Not that I blame you really. I am tired of winter and ready for spring to fully get here."

"Being cooped up is definitely not fun, I get antsy if I stay inside for too long so this break in the weather is nice." While she personally like the cold, even it got tiring after a while. "Some people can't sketch so that's pretty neat." She wasn't the most talented artist herself, she was more of a coloring book sorta girl when it came to stuff like that. "Do you have a specific flower you like most?" Since the topic they were already discussing was flowers and the weather, it seemed a good enough of question as any to ask.
