Lately Arseno had been wandering around the Rift a bit more by himself as he wanted to get a fell of the place and know where he was going. It was much easier now that he was a captain and could teleport himself there, but he couldn't do it very often with how much teleporting drained him. He knew it was risky walking around by himself, but he felt as though he couldn't keep bothering others just to be able to explore the rift a little bit.
This time he had gone a bit deeper into the area where youma tended to hang out. He had gone this way once before and luckily he hadn't been attacked or anything, but he knew it was a possibility, even being a Negaverse agent. It seemed to be a bit spiky in this area, and he made sure to keep a lookout in case anything decided to pop out.Lucifer Force Sorry, wasn't exactly sure where his nest was

”SSBrosB” It’s wherever you want it to be. wink Also, how tall is Arseno? I wasn’t sure. ”Oh, hello, Captain.”An alien, almost metallic voice crept to Captain Arseno’s ears over the din of youma cries and the scratching of claws. It was here, near Bazzite’s nest, that feral youma tended to scatter. They disliked the presence of one of the humanoid youma and Bazzite had long since demarcated his territory using deep scratches in the ground and the bones and clothing of long-dead agents acting as scarecrows. These dry effigies were propped atop some of the crystalline landscape that made the Rift so hazardous. Bazzite’s nest was more vertical than horizontal and was dug out from the side of a large crystal mountain. If one was not looking for it specifically, the small entrance hole leading straight up would be difficult to spot. The homeowner, a six-and-a-half foot blue locust creature, had felt more than seen the Captain from a healthy distance away. He was out collecting trinkets to decorate the inside. Other feral youma activity had alerted him to the unusual presence of a human nearby. The creature approached Captain Arseno casually, as if they were two civilians meeting on the street. ”What brings you to my end of the neighborhood? You’re all by yourself.” The statement was more of fact than a veiled threat - Bazzite didn’t do wordplay and subterfuge. The creature seemed to have a pleasant demeanor, despite his monstrous visage.

Arseno really didn't want to show how surprised he was when the youma spoke to him, and managed to keep himself from flinching. He looked to wear the voice was coming from and saw a more humanoid youma coming towards him. It was very interesting how varied most of the youma were, but this was the second time he had actually gotten to talk to one, even if the voice was slightly ear-piercing.
He nodded towards the youma. "Sorry if I'm intruding." Arseno always tended to become more formal when he was powered up. "I was mostly just wandering around, just trying to get to know what was down here and know where to go. I do apologize if I've interrupted you in some way."Lucifer Force He's at least 6 feet. I would put him more around at 6 foot 1 inch though.

The blue creature tilted his head, as if confused by Arseno’s apology. ”Ah? Interrupting? No.” His vibrant blue eyes had a luminous quality to them, allowing Negaverse agents to see Bazzite’s eyes long before they could see the rest of him. This Captain was tall, one of the tallest he’d ever met, and that in and of itself was unusual. ”Where are you trying to go, Captain? Not many agents come down here alone unless they’re a General. What are you looking for?”Indeed, traveling alone made agents prime fodder for hungry youma, even at Captain rank. Arseno must have been strong enough on his own to fend off the feral creatures that would have been tearing at his heels otherwise. Bazzite was getting closer now, inching slowly and quietly. Really, he wanted a better look at the Captain. He wanted to remember the Captain’s uniform and his smell. ”Are you one of Beni’s Captains? What’s your name? I’m Bazzite, but call me Bazzi.”

Arseno 'hmphed' a little, but couldn't help but smile. "I'll admit, I'm a bit lost. I was looking for... where I had found another particular youma before, but it seems that I've missed it. Unfortunately I managed to wander into here and luckily haven't run into any other youma than you. I suppose I just have a lot of good luck I guess." It was true, he had been looking for another youma but he had seen another turn he hadn't explored yet and unfortunately hadn't been able to find his way back yet. Though if he really felt he had been in danger, he would have teleported away.
This youma didn't seem to want to fight or hurt him, which was nice. But he did seem to be one of those more... humanoid youma were they called? Arseno nodded his head in reply. "Yes... I'm one of Benitoite's Captains. I'm Arsenopyrite, but I like to go by Arseno. It's much easier to say and remember. It's interesting to meet you 'Bazzi'."

"Hmm? Another particular youma? One that talks, or one that doesn't talk?" Bazzite was quite interested to find out about other youma who might be on the same level of sentience he was (not that he was the brightest bulb in the socket, even when compared to other humans!) "What were they like? Not too many that are people-shaped like me and you. Most of them are skittery little things, or slimy and sloppy."Like Keith. He vaguely remembered a man-zombie with a camera for a face. Creepy, that one. The youma perked up visibly when Arsenopyrite confirmed he was one of Benitoite's own. Good, their brood was growing! "Beni is the best General. Sometimes I accompany him topside, to help with missions. Have you seen him lately? He hasn't called me in a while..." Bazzite's pointed ears visibly drooped for a moment.

Well, at least the youma didn't seem too focused on Arseno being lost... yet. "She was... well I'm not sure if you know what a centaur is, but she looked like she was half-deer and half-human. She really surprised me, it was the first time I had seen a youma like that." Though Bazzite didn't look bad, but he seemed to go more in the "creepy crawly" theme that some youma seemed to fit into.
"Yes, a lot of them are skittery, though I haven't really seen any slimy ones yet. I'll have to watch out for those." He hadn't really met many other youma, but no slimy ones so far.
Arseno felt a bit sorry for the youma. "From what I've seen, he's been quite busy. I'm sure he'll take you with him again soon." He could tell that the general had been busy, especially considering they hadn't been able to meet up much since he had become a Captain.

SSBrosB I apologize for the wait! Bazzite tilted his head. "Centaur? Yes, like the horse-people. I don't think I've seen a centaur-lady down here, but there's an awful lot of slimies and slinkies so... sometimes it's hard to pick out a specific one." It was oftentimes like wading through a sea of dripping, sloughing amalgamations. Most of the ferals looked like hybrid animal or insectoid creatures, like himself. The youma drew closer to Arseno, seeming to be intrigued by the Captain's hair. "Maybe... maybe if I lead you back to the Hall of Shadows, Beni will come back and see me. If you want to, that is." While Bazzite wasn't forced into submission when it came to Captains, Arseno was endeared to him due to his connection with beloved Benitoite. Beni would be very upset if Bazzite let something happen to one of his Captains... "If you see Beni again, tell him I miss him."

Arseno was happy that Bazzite knew what he was talking about. He had underestimated how much the youma knew. "Yes, looking around I don't believe she lives near here." She lived in a much... prettier place, more full of beautiful crystals rather than well, where Bazzite lived. It wasn't the worst, but Arseno certainly wouldn't stay here.
He saw the youma move closer, and while he trusted the youma, there was something in the back of his mind lingering, telling him to be on his guard. Perhaps it was from the fact that he had been attacked already by a youma, and more after than with all of the events that had been happening in the city. They didn't seem to discriminate.
After a bit, Arseno slowly nodded. "If you are willing, I would appreciate the help." At least he knew where not to go next time if he wasn't specifically looking for Bazzite. "And I will, I'm sure he's just been busy. There's been a lot going on lately."

”SSBrosB” I think we can wrap this up, maybe? Bazzite’s ears seemed to perk at the Captain’s willingness to be lead back to the entrance. This would surely help to endear the youma further to his beloved General. ”Okay, Captain. Follow me. You were headed in the wrong direction, but they don’t really hand out maps to the Rift, do they?” The youma chuckled with an odd, throaty, metallic sound. Bazzite’s vocal chords were never the same since his change years ago. His wings in quadruplicate buzzed quickly and with great volume - this served as a warning to the feral creatures lurking in the shadows nearby. Feral youma, without the gift of greater intelligence, responded well to obvious physical threats. Claws and teeth were sent skittering further into the darkness and away from Captain Arseno’s delicious, juicy starseed. Perhaps Arseno would regail how the youma had protected him during his jaunt in the Rift, and perhaps that would prompt Benitoite to visit his friend more often. ”Beni has always been busy, ever since he was a Captain. I miss his company… He has that cat too, a little wispy thing. She doesn’t come down here, though. Cats are too… easy prey, I think.”

Arseno chuckled. This youma had a sense of humor, that was nice. "Yes, I wish they did, but perhaps they do this to test us just in case we are too weak to come back." He stepped a bit away, motioning to Bazzite that he could start leading them back, glad that this was all that was happening.
He noticed the other youma skittering away, and was surprised at how many there were. He would really have to keep an eye out more.
"I'll make sure to tell him how you helped me. And if you need the company, and don't mind me, I could always come down and visit too." Although it was a sincere offer, he wouldn't have been surprised if Bazzite still didn't really like anyone other than Benitoite. But youma had been fascinating to Arseno, and he wanted to be able to study them a bit more without being in danger of having his starseed ripped out.
"I'll follow you."Lucifer Force All right, I'll count that as my ending post and you can post one more time if you want! Thanks so much!
