Andrew had just moved to the Arkham dorm recently he was still getting used to living without his family. So he was spending a great deal of time either in the common room with a small handheld chalkboard or outside bundled up since it was still rather chilly outside. He sat outside down bundled up tightly his finger chilly and his bottom chilly from the amount of time he had spent drawing on the sidewalk with her various colors of chalk. He was drawing a forest with little woodland creatures, flowers, rocks, mushrooms. His cheeks of brown were covered in a rainbow of chalk dust. He wasn't paying much attention to anyone walking by. Unless his sister Rose showed up to tell him it was time for food or time to get out of the cold Andrew would likely keep drawing till he felt he was done with his art. Andrew was often consumed by his art forgetting about his tummy rumbling loudly or that he was very thirsty or tired. When he got into what he was doing nothing else mattered, really Andrew needed a keeper to keep him in line but everyone in his family had their own lives so Andrew didn't figure anyone would poke him to live as they wished. He would be fine on his own right?

Nothing every seemed to go right for Keres. Their parents had died when keres was younger. No one in the Orphanage could get close to them with out something really bad happening, and right when Keres thought they had a new family and everything was looking up this happened. Kers had been playing music today and working on the devil's trill piece for a school concert when some one had gotten too close and hell broke loose. Unfortunately in the disaster, their violin had broken. So here they were sitting on a bench since school let out looking at the violin in their lap. It had been the last gift they had gotten from his parents. When their eyes did eventually flicker up again, the hybrid... or at least keres thought they were a hybrid was still there drawing on the sidewalk. Or at least keres thought they where drawing. Their mutation was such that keres was practically blind. " aren't you hungry?" Keres spoke out unconsciously.

Andrew blinked when he heard a voice he wasn't sure how long he had been working or how long his tummy had been growling, he looked up at the figure that appeared to be a litch of some sort. "Umm well.." Andrew thought a moment before he would have said no but then he heard his tummy growl loudly again and felt the cold that had seeped into him, likely too much for being part fey even though he had little fluffs on his antennas which were more than pure fey had. "I suppose I am, I just get so consumed by my art sometimes." Andrew said standing up and looking down at his his chalk art he knew that it would be destroyed eventually, for now, it was wonderful. Trees, animals, flowers, rocks, mushrooms. Andrew had created another little world on the sidewalk. Andrew knew about ghosts, but it was more casual for him. Since his parents and sister hadn't mentioned anything about ghosts Andrew didn't tell anyone he could see them. Fearing they would be upset or think him strange. Andrew smiled at the litch and said "Sorry if I was ignoring you, I didn't mean to, I'm Andrew." He said and offered his hand to the litch.

Keres nodded seemingly understanding and then paused. Their aunt was always talking about how they should socialize more. They were a bit hesitant but the bad things tended to happen more when they were playing. Since the violin was broke, obviously they couldn't play. "I understand. I am... I play the violin and when I am practicing I can lose track of hours" Keres replied softly. They got off the bench to walk close to the artwork. Due to being a litch and a hallowed on top of that keres was almost legally blind. If they wanted to see things more than just blurry colorful shapes they had to be relatively close to the thing. "You weren't ignoring me. We were just cohabitating the same general spot." Keres replied flickering their gaze up from the artwork to Andrew's face. They lowered it again moments later. Having no irises and having the kitchen black sclera meant a lot of people got weirded out by the black mass that was keres's eyes or eye considering the other one was stitched. "Nice to meet you Andrew. I am keres. Your art work is very pretty."

Andrew smiled a little as he looked at Keres and listened to them "It is nice to meet someone who also understands art can kinda take over a lot of time and you just don't notice." Andrew thought he wasn't sure if he had ever heard a violin before, his mother was into fashion and his daddy was into something else, Andrew had forgotten what it was, maybe it was music. He frowned and scrunched up his face trying to remember. "My daddy might play an instrument too but I forgot.. stupid huh that I can't remember what my own dad does." Andrew said with a sigh "It would be nice to hear you play sometime." Andrew wasn't bothered by Keres being a hollowed or them being a litch with a stitched eye. He had seen far stranger looking beings just walking around the school. Not that he was going to explain that since he didn't want Keres to think he was weird, they seemed really nice and making a friend would be good.

" yeah a lot of non artists don't really get it" Keres nodded. However both their family members got lost in reading so they sort of understood the feeling. Keres rummaged through their bag to see if they had any food on them. They didn't really eat much during the school day. In fact their big meal was normally dinner. Oran however liked to be sure they had a big lunch just in case. So it wasn't too much of a surprise when Keres found a bag of unopened chips, they calmly offered them to Andrew. " I probably won't eat them, if they are a brand you like, you are welcome to munch on them... if you want." Keres could actually play the violin at the moment considering the breakage was mostly in one of his strings. However if they played now with out either their father or Oran, Keres feared what would happen to Andrew. " yeah I wouldn't mind playing for a friend some time." They ignored the sudden chill.

Andrew smiled as he looked at Keres thinking about his tummy now that it had been pointed out to him he spent so much time not thinking about what he needed. It was a good distraction from the ghosts that he saw day to day and his buried jealousy he felt towards his sister who had wings whereas he didn't. He looked at the bag of chips that Keres offered, it was a brand he liked, but he didn't want to take the food from Keres. "What if you do get hungry later I would feel bad.. umm well unless we exchanged phone numbers or dorm numbers so I could get you a snack if you do get hungry another time.." Andrew suggested taking the chip bag into his paws. He felt the chill even through his fur he looked around seeking out where the chill was coming from. He worried that something bad might happen he didn't want Keres to be bothered by him acting strangely if something come to him.

" I am not a big eater." Keres admitted. However they did pull out their lunch pail to show all the different food items they still had. " however I don't mind exchanging my phone number if it really matters to you. Besides I did promise that concert." However seeing that Andrew was starting to shiver, Keres figured their time was up. Andrew seemed nice enough and Keres knew they were haunted, knew they caused problems with people they spent any length of time with. Even worse was they had no ability to see, feel or hear their tormentors. There was no way for Keres to help. Sure it could have been some random wind but they didn't want to take that chance. " I... should probably start heading off for home" Keres stated.

Andrew nodded "Yes it matters to me, I don't want to take from you without the chance of giving back." Andrew wasn't the greedy sort, he liked to give and take, not just take. Besides Keres was right he did want to listen to the other freshling play their music. Andrew gave Keres his phone number so they could make plans for another time. Andrew frowned wondering what was wrong, since he hadn't seen any ghosts, and Keres seemed uncomfortable. Andrew wondered if he had said something wrong that bothered them. "Umm ok, well I'll see you later then ok?? I really would like to hear you play sometime."

Keres nodded showing that they understood. It was a bit rare to meet some one with that attitude or at least it had been for Keres, and this only drove in the fact that Keres needed to go more. They didn't like good people getting hurt, which always happened. Keres really wanted to give them that concert but they would need to fix their violin and make sure that either Oran or Oberon was there, for some odd reason all the bad things kept from happening if there was a member of keres's family. However when Andrew frowned Keres was just close enough to see it. They thought back to their last words, and realized how it must have sounded. "I only have to go because..." Keres stopped wondering how to best say this. Often people didn't believe them or the other few nice people Keres knew would get hurt, start thinking Keres was creepy and then leave in the end otherwise. " I have to go because I don't want bad things to start happening." There it wasn't the whole truth, after all this was a first meeting but Keres didn't want to leave and have Andrew think it was some thing to do with them... or maybe Keres was just reading things that weren't there and Andrew was just frowning over maybe something to do with his chalk art work or something. "But yes j will definitely play sometime." They winced when something near by snapped. Yep time to go home now.
