They were calling it a Second Winter of the year. Laverna was calling it a nice clear night to be out. Most people were hiding inside in the warmth of their homes but the young Dark Mirror enjoyed the silence the dropping temperatures brought.
Sitting on the edge of a building roof top, Laverna watched and people ran for their cars out of a cafe. They were carrying hot drinks and only two had found ice and slipped. Shame. That would be more amusing...
But she was getting bored as she kicked her legs like a child. That was the problem. A clear empty night and no one to play with...
"It isn't like I'm masking my aura. Hello? Anyone there?" Laverna finally called out in a sing-song tune.

Captain Lopezite was enjoying his evening, as much as anyone could in this chill. He was aching for the summer months; despite his layers of clothes he was still cold. He missed his forge, his warmth.
But he had a duty to the Negaverse and quotas to be filled; he wasn’t the sort to drag his feet so it was better to get this done now rather than later—before it got colder.
Still, he was only human. He’d had to power down to sneak inside and steal a few moments of heat from a local establishment.
He’d order a coffee and a quick snack but it was gone before he left. He had traveled down a back alleyway, intending to power up and resume his duties when he’d heard her voice. A quick glance up at the rooftop and he recognized black. A slow grin appeared on his face and he powered up after a quick scan to ensure no one would see him.
He teleported up to the rooftop—an ability he hadn’t quite mastered but was practicing regularly in the hopes of doing so. It left him feeling a little drained, but not so much that he was feeling winded.
He had teleported a few feet behind the woman and said, “It depends on who you are looking for, and why, I should think.”

Laverna had picked up the signature just before it shifted and appeared behind her. Turning quickly, she gazed at a male who had appeared. "You teleported? No far!" Laverna put her hands to her hips, as if accenting the pout she knew he couldn't see. "That would be so much fun! Teleport and smack someone. Has to be such a great advantage for you."
Smiling again, Laverna dropped her arms and eyed him up and down. "And well, I was looking for anyone. It gets boring out alone. So who are you supposed to be? An Arabian Knight?"

Lopezite laughed richly. “I am no Knight. I am Captain Lopezite, though.”
He extended a hand to her; powered or not, he couldn’t simply forget his manners. “I admit, teleportation is quite the advantage. But it is terribly draining. I suppose that will go away with time, but it is still a new ability to me. But you! You can Mirrorwalk, can you not? In some ways, I think I am a bit envious of that ability. Though…I do not think I would trade it for teleportation. At least, as long as it gets a little easier to do. May I ask, though? If you get bored out here alone, why do you not travel with members of your Court? Certainly company could be easily acquired?”

"Oh! Excuse me then, Oh Captain, my Captain." Laverna chimed back, giving him a mock salute as if he was more of a military captain over being an agent.
Her hand dropped and took his. "That would require me to be a Super Dark Mirror. Us little babies aren't allowed into mirrorspace alone. They claim it might be too dangerous. I say pooie on them." Forcing a pout, she pulled her hands back and crossed them under her chest.
Two moments later, she shrugged and released it. "Oh well. One day I guess. The mirror will decide when I'm allowed to gain access on my own. Oh, where are my manners..."
With a curtsy, Laverna added. "Sailor Laverna, Dark Mirror of Thieves. So hold onto anything you don't want missing." Rising up with a wink, the hooded senshi considered his final question.
"Define easy?" She offered. "Our numbers seem to be limited compared to others...like yourself, Sir Captain."

Lopezite smiled at the mock salute; he was fairly easy going and it seemed as though he could easily get along with Laverna.
“I understand the restrictions on where you are permitted to venture. The Negaverse is the same, though I suppose I can’t blame them for being cautious. There are regions of the Dark Kingdom that I don’t want to pass through, even now. Now that I can teleport I know I could get myself out of trouble, but when I was a lieutenant?” He shook his head. “I wouldn’t have stood a chance if some dark creature crept up behind me and decided to make a meal of me.”
Unless, of course, he could have charmed them with his winning personality and charming smile, but he doubted youma had a taste for such things.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Laverna. With a sphere like that, I can only imagine what magic you might possess. If it isn’t too forward, would you mind showing me? I confess, I am fascinated with magic. I wish I could understand how it works, but even at this stage of my,” he gestured towards his outfit, “career, I’m afraid that I can’t wrap my head around it. I am a bit jealous that I wasn’t born a Senshi.”

"It would be my pleasure. But I must ask a favor of you." Laverna purred, her hands coming to fold behind her back, leaning at the waist ever so slightly. "Would you be so kind as to summon your weapon for me?"
As she made her request, Laverna pondered what else he had to say. Something caught her attention and she had to c**k her head. "I have heard this 'Negaverse' mentioned before. But the 'Dark Kingdom'? Is that just a kingdom done in black or what is such a thing?"
It was a curious idea. Mirrorspace was theirs but these worlds that were not allowed to them. What made them so different?
"But don't be too jealous of us either, Prince Lopezite. I would kill for a weapon at times. Though I have yet to meet many people who even consider attacking me. Quite odd given what I have been told."

“Summon my weapon? With pleasure,” he answered simply, providing her a small smile as he held out his hand and called his weapon. He removed the scimitar from its sheath and presented it to Laverna for inspection. Ordinarily, he supposed it might be foolish to let someone handle your weapon, but when you could call it to you whenever you liked, he figured he wasn’t in too much danger.
“The Dark Kingdom is our haven. Just a place where we’re safe from our enemies, where we can conduct our business without concern of interference. I suppose it’s the Dark Kingdom because it’s built in a realm that is very dark. Or, perhaps, some source of irony. Although,” he shrugged. “It’s also highly possible that its founders were just terribly uncreative. I didn’t assume anything nefarious, I just figured it had to be because of all the shadows.”
He shrugged. “Although, about your magic and my weapon. I’m sure anyone with a few extra dollars could afford a weapon. Magic, that’s not something you can buy. At least, not that I know of.” He tilted his head, smile still on his face. “Unless there’s some black market I should be searching for?”

"If there is, then we both need to find this market. Maybe it's in your 'Dark' Kingdom? I'll bring a flashlight."
"I would love to be able to change the magic up every now and then. Don't you think it would be fun to throw sharks or something at someone?" The idea made her chuckle. "But while a weapon could be bought, one thing couldn't be."
Smiling as she eyed the weapon he held, Laverna raised her hands as if waiting for something to land into it. "Your ability to summon and unsummon it. I don't think I would want to walk around with your saber all day. Might poke someone's eye out. And that would just be a darn shame."
"Divest Some". The words were spoken calmly and there before her, a dark bag appeared. Shifting her body, she aimed the item at Lopezite and watched the weapon.

Sailor Scout Attack: Divest Some Only after seeing an opponent's attack (senshi) or seeing their weapon( knight/negaverse) Sailor Laverna calls the name of her attack. What appears to be something akin to a bag of holding / pick pocketing pouch appears in her hands. Pointing it at an opponent standing at about 6’ from her, Laverna steals 1 unused magic attack, up to her current level, draining the energy it would have required to cast it from the enemy. In the case of a knight or negaverse Laverna steals their weapon making it so they cannot resummon it from her pick pocket pouch for the next 20 seconds; this only works on characters her level or lower. She can use her attack three times per battle.

Lopezite laughed politely at her joke and waited patiently for her display of magic. It didn’t seem to manifest in the way that he expected, and when his weapon suddenly disappeared, he let out a small exclamation of surprise and raised his hand as if he expected the sword to be there. He waited for a few seconds before he glanced from the empty space to her.
His lips pursed when he attempted to summon his weapon and nothing happened.
“That’s a very fancy trick,” he said after another pause. His eyes stayed locked on hers. “It is convenient to disarm me, but does it grant you any other benefit? Magic to make something disappear is certainly a fine trick, but beyond removing my weapon from my hand, I am worried that it doesn’t seem like it does much for you. I could, for example,” he teleported suddenly and appeared just behind her.
He placed one hand on either of her shoulders. “Just do this, and, well…your whole back is exposed to me.”
Lopezite seemed far from threatening in that moment; it was a display. He took two steps back from her almost immediately, keen on giving her space now that he’d proved his point. A more violent soldier might have tried to snap her neck if it were a real battle, but Lopezite was far more interested to know if she had any other tricks up her sleeves, instead.

The sudden touch to her shoulders made Laverna meep. It was a light, playful noise that came from her while she glanced over her shoulder. "Now maybe I want my back exposed to you." A single blue eye winked but not before she had waved off the bag, allowing the trapped weapon to return to its master.
Turning her head back around, Laverna suddenly began to bend back. It was a slow, clearly planned bend as she dipped back, stopping only when she could meet his eyes. "Maybe the trick is only half the show. As what sort of thief would I be if I relied on magic for everything?" Letting her back bend completely over, she planted her hands on the ground and kicked her legs up. Trained movements showed as she split her legs and let her left one come over and rest on his shoulder. She looked at ease in the handstand. "Magic is just a trick of mirrors after all."
Just as easy as she bent over, she slipped her leg off and landed herself upright near his side. "I think I'll be alright. Unless you are offering to be my Arabian Knight."

Lopezite laughed and shook his head. “A Knight, I think, is not in the works for me. But I am flattered all the same. You have some very interesting skills.”
He seemed content to have his weapon back, not because he had any intention of using it but because it simply seemed as though he considered it something he should have. Like a phone or car keys, it was a necessity to function in this life. That, and he was just fond of it.
“I suppose I won’t have to worry about you if you are full of so many surprises. Which is good, because it is getting late and I am certain we both have place to be, though I would have a guilty conscience if I felt you were at a great disadvantage in this war. So I can say that I am grateful for the time you have spent with me, I feel my curiosity has been thoroughly sated. Although,” he smiled, “If you had any last minute tricks or secrets to share, I would not object.” He seemed comfortable teasing, and wielded no hard feelings about her or her faction. They were both Chaos at the end of the day, and he knew at least one Dark Mirror Senshi whose good side he wanted to stay on.
