now as far as i can tell the first one has not come up before so it's probably a first so give me a minute to explain ok i think part two has come up before so i was just wondering if you have thought about it anymore and well part three is just a simple courtesy just in case you ever need it ok

there seems to be two things missing from this guild
1- a link to the pre thread to ask questions in beforehand, i'm sure users would find it useful and if needed can be placed on the guild home page or a separate forum which leads me to number two

2- we need a subforum labeled misc to keep the home page forum more clean. maybe a link could go in each new update to say if it didn't fit somewhere check this sub thread here

not missing or provided however....
3- i would like to offer translation services to anyone who may need it. im fluent in english, spanish, french, etc... so if the need arises i would be happy to translate ANY POST into another language.
i only offer this service as i have mi amigos aka my friends in here and while they do understand english it's often more easily understood in spanish and while it DOES NOT seem to be a problem i would just like to offer these services JUST IN CASE you know just as a backup in case it would make life easier
i have done this on a couple of questions in my spanish speaking guild just so a couple of users didn't have to post up in here to look spamyish kind of approach to life

if there are any other things ill post them up later
so what do you think of these ideas?

also i do have a curiosity question which i'm sure others might wonder and that is have you ever banned anyone from your guild? and if so and this part is totally optional could you share why? so that others don't do the same thing
i don't wanna be banned ok just in case you thought that's why i asked

Hmm...you're right, that would probably be useful, but it's a different thread every week so the URL would keep changing. The place I would be most likely to include such a link is in the Guild Announcements rather than anywhere permanent where I'd have to remember to go back and edit it every week. Of course, I could also include a note somewhere in the Guild saying that there is such a thread Stickied in the GCD...that much doesn't change. Yeah, I guess I'll go ahead and do that.

I'm not sure I agree with this. What exactly would be left in the main forum? Just the Stickied threads, I'd think, and since they're Stickied it's certainly not tough to find them. I don't think the main forum should go almost entirely unused. In fact, after belatedly realizing I could, I just renamed the main forum from having the exact same name as the Guild in general to being called "AskED the Staff: General Discussion" because that's basically what it's used and intended for.

I'll bet there are probably a bunch of people who'd be helped by that! To help increase visibility, you might want to make a thread in here specifically for offering translation services...perhaps put the word "translations" or something in the title, in every language you can translate to if they'll all fit? Also, people who have trouble understanding English might be avoiding this Guild because they assume it wouldn't help them, so if you're eager to help people understand the information in this Guild, you might want to spread the word in non-English forums within Gaia so they'll know there's someone here that they can ask for help.

I've never banned anyone from this Guild. I don't know that it would even do anything since this Guild is set to Public, which I believe means you can post in this forum without being a member. I know there's no way for me to ban someone who isn't a member.

I also try not to have anyone on my Ignore List, because anyone who was on my Ignore List would be unable to see the various Guides I have on Gaia, and I believe everyone should have access to those Guides. There are people out there who have me on their Ignore Lists for some reason, but there's nothing I can do about that.

Went to put that note in the "How To Participate in Ask the Staff" Sticky and discovered that there was already such a note in there. sweatdrop I clarified it a little, and while I was tinkering in there I added a note about Daylight Savings Time in different countries since someone in this week's AtS was actually unaware of the fact that DST had recently started in the USA.

Question to anyone reading this post, I guess: would linking to the Pre-Event Thread in my Announcements be helpful? I just now remembered, too, that Zero Omega always puts a link to that thread in the Staff Notice that announces that the event is live; anyone who cares about the goings-on of Gaia enough to want to follow Ask the Staff events should definitely have Staff Notices turned on; they're basically what Site-Wide Announcements should have been.

I have a couple of suggestions too:
1. When you make the announcement saying the most recent ATA has had its questions put in the Answers, sorted by subject subforum, could you include a link to the subforum? It would save people, like, 2 clicks, and you could just put it in the form I assume you keep reusing since the announcements are worded the same each week.

2. When you make the announcement saying the most recent ATA has been done and the thread is in the Answers sorted by date subforum, could you add a link to the thread? It would save me, like, 3 clicks. Or a link to the subforum.

3. Wait, you have other guides? Where? You are so thorough here I would like to see the rest.

Sure, that sounds like a good idea. And yes, you're absolutely right about the template. In fact, there've been a couple times when I was so tired I didn't bother editing the template when I posted, and an announcement went out about the Month 00th session of AtS. sweatdrop

Sure. I guess I'll opt for the link to the thread itself, even though it's something else I'll have to be sure to update each week. Shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks! Most of my guides are in the Alchemy forum; one of them is the Alchemy Guide Anthology that I have a link to in my sig, and I believe all of my other Alchemy guides are among the ones listed in the Anthology.

QUestion : Is there a " MANGA " topic for Ask the Staff ?

Yes! When posting a question in an Ask the Staff session, "Manga" is one of the seven topics they ask you to pick from when labeling your question.

When viewing answers I've collected in the By Subject subforum of this Guild, questions about the manga are found in the category "Plot, Manga and NPCs".
